Completely steal from small businesses
The fees are completely outrageous. As a small business owner you took over $900 in fees in 1 month from my checking account and I didn’t even pay myself that much in the month. My business didn’t even have that much profit for the month and you gouge the crap out of small businesses. I would never recommend you crooks to any business large or small. We are a small health clinic in Arizona. Even though we stopped taking credit cards more than a year ago, Elavon continued to charge my bank account a usage fee. When I tried to stop the ACH withdrawals, my bank gave me a phone number which turned out to be a nonworking number. Then I had to contact another company who said they could not cancel the charges, and they referred me to the company responsible for the charges, which was Elavon . I called Elavon and they refused to close the account. And finally, I got a hold of Elavon and I have ordered them to stop taking money out of my account. They of course, have refused to refund even a penny of the monthly service that they have been charging us for. Where I come from that is called charging for services that were never rendered as an owner, I find this behavior extremely unethical. I will, of course never do business woth Elavon . And I recommend Small business people do not do business with Elavon Because of Elavon’s dishonesty and their unethical behavior.

Hellish process of account closure with Elavon business account. I called to inquire about the closing process a month prior. I followed the instructions. I called again to follow up and it was confirmed that all devices were returned and my account is closed.
After this confirmation, I was charge monthly fee for four month via automatic withdrawal I had set up. Mistake happens, so I called again, the agent admits it was a mistake cause by previous agent not following up and assure that the refund will be issued.
After about a month I didn’t get refund so I called again and this time another agent tells me that I should contact collection agency out of nowhere. I asked to know about the charges and what I owe and they refuse the tell me and insist I call collection. Since I have the automatic withdrawal set up, and even had it going for over four months by their mistakes so I assume any fees should have been automatically withdrawn. Plus I never received any bills from them. The agents refuse to share their information or any written record and I’m forced to speak to new people every time repeating this ridiculous and horrid circle of explaining all over and having to call back and follow up. It’s not even that much but this has become a morality thing now and it is just wrong to treat a customer this way. It’s been going on for almost a year now. I’d give anything to go back in time and pick a different pos company.
Update August 8 : After receding a reply through this post, I have reached out to the email and all I got is a response to call back to generic customer service number that I have been calling for almost an year now, encouraging to continue this ridiculous cycle. No one takes ownership in this company, and it is literally impossible to get through.

I am the owner of a small dental clinic in Los Angeles. We are an Executive Costco Member and signed up with Elavon through Costco over 10 years ago. We found that they had been overcharging us for about 10 years. Elavon reluctantly refunded money to us without interest and without us really knowing if they really paid us back accurately.
