i don't know this company and never dealt with them but they are doing credit checks on me with out my knowledge - be aware as this is very dodgy practice and in breach of GDPR rules

Eldon insurance/Somerset bridge have paid out for a FALSE claim they did not notify me of. i was in an accident and there was NO damage whatsoever to the third party vehicle. Third party then claimed against me - eldon sent me no correspondence/emails/texts or phone calls. When i complained to them they advised they had chased me numerous amounts of times via phone, text, letter and email - LIES. I found out about this claim when i called GoSkippy to ask why my NCD was 0 years when i should've had 2 years. This is when i was advised of this claim and transferred to Eldon/Somerset Bridge where i was greeted with a rude, unprofessional man who gave me nothing but cheek and attitude. I lodged a complaint and the claims MANAGER came back to advise they did nothing wrong and its closed as not upheld - if i want to take this further then i have to contact the financial ombudsman. Im glad i have come on here to look at reviews and seen i am not the only one who has been treated this way... something needs to be done about this fraud of a company ASAP.

They have cancelled my insurance without a phone call to let me know, instead they’ve sent an email that went to junk. Luckily I am working from home or else I could have been driving not knowing I don’t have insurance.

I don’t know why go skippy uses them as an underwriter.

Its worse company they try make money from you they cancel my insurance which is i paid full of year and the didn’t refund me back anything , and they try to make me pay for the claim which is i was on insurance and the car nothing happen with it i advice everyone’s not try this company insurance and take them to court if they try take your money thanks

October 2019 while I was stationary at a red traffic light, someone ran into my rear end. Car was a write off. No problem I am fully comp through Go Skippy. I finally received a payment in May 2020 but not for what the full amount, the excess of £525 was outstanding and also I lost my no claims bonus. It is still as of 10-09-2020 outstanding. Eldon tell me it is between me and the 3rd party to sort out. The 3rd Party sent a check to Eldon in June. It has not been passed on to me. Steer clear, check with your broker if they use Eldon. I am glad I was not involved in a complicated RTA.

*Customer service is appalling if you ever have a car accident they will make it a nightmare for you with zero correspondence I have been continuing to chase them up.
* When I took my policy out they threated to cancel it as they want the cancellation fee as there money hungry although i sent them documents after documents to finally reinstate the policy.
When my car was taken away from Copart they released my car to me without paying me out a penny and there partners copart also damaged my vehicle leaving it with no front bumper and dents and scratches.
Now debenhams insurance have persued to cancel my policy again they do not care about there customers who have to fork a lot of money to pay expensive premiums.
There underwriters (sommerset limited) take forever to reply, hard to get through to them via call and are always unsure what to do and make a random decision out of the blue without contacting you.
if you are reading this as a customer looking for insurance you are best of going to Hastings or Admiral etc don’t bother with this company.

December of last year I was in a accident that was my fault- I went into the back of someone in stand still traffic at no more than 10mph! I a little tiny fiat 500 took most of the damage as this guy had a huge ford truck! So no damage to his truck! When my car was assessed by their team, the fella told me there is no way this guy will win his case- there was little damage and my car is too small to cause any serious harm to a huge truck like his! I have heard nothing of this accident since, no letters no calls until I had an email yesterday saying my new policy renewl was £2000 a year!!!! WHAT!!! so I rang and said to them I had heard nothing of my accident, they sent an email! This d******* of a guy had scammed them £2500 whip lash , £750 NHS fee and £600 solicitor!! How!! How can my little fiat 500 cause this to a huge ford truck at 10mph??????
Anyway I have contacted the financial ombusman for further action to be taken, these guys had no contact with me so I couldn’t fight my case! So now I have lost all my no claims and my premium has gone up! They couldn’t give a crap either!
Please please stay away, I wish I had read these reviews before hand!

Somerset bridge/ go skippy is the pathetic insurance company. I wish I read these reviews on here before I decided to switch my insurance. I had an accident which wasn’t my fault and I had explained everything to them. It was clearly MIB (untraced) but they don’t know what they are doing. Mark (the manager) and Mathew (an advisor) are the worst people I have ever come across. That Mathew had the cheek to laugh at me over the phone he was so rude and was constantly talking over me. Mark who is a manger (doesn’t seem like though) his ethics and the way he speaks is beyond me. This company is a scam and full of rude people. I’m not surprised on their rating being 1.2 on trustpilot this goes on to show how many unhappy customers are there including myself. I think this insurance company should be closed down. They are supposed to help their customers but if they are only making money out of us then they should not operate. I can write pages and pages but I don’t think they care and will ever bother to reply/acknowledge. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Had a minor accident (damage to body work) and these guys claimed I was commuting to work, I am unemployed and was travelling to a friends house! And so they cancelled my policy. They have now sent me a bill for almost 13k to hire out a car for 3 months for the claimant. Needless to say I will not be paying this (don't have £100 let alone £13000). On top of that the cost of the remaining 10 months insurance (over £1000) that they will not refund. I have no idea who to go for with help with this and imagine this could ruin any hope I have of any secure financial future. Stay clear.

Worst customer service. line got cut off numerous times and when I got through to someone and explained my difficulties they diverted the blame to me and accused me of being at fault

Its sad that I am only seeing how many bad reviews this company has got. I joined them through Debenhams insurance and its been downhill ever since. they are more than happy to take your premiums but refuse to give you your money's worth. The worst happened the I was involved in an accident! I could type pages and pages on why this company is just the wrong decision to make. Their now Somerset Insurance NOT Eldon. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE A PLAGUE IF YOU CAN...

I didn't realise I was taking out my Debenhams insurance through this broker until it all went so wrong. I have had car insurance for over 30 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had. They cancelled my insurance without telling me and charged me a £222 fee for it. I had no idea that I had been driving around for 2 months with no insurance and didn't find out until I saw a credit refund from them on my bank statement. They would not reinstate the policy and could not give me an explanation to why it was cancelled.

Eldon solicitors , now Somerset bridge solicitors for Goskippy insurance Totally crap investigators, instead of fighting for you or helping you get evidence just give up without a fight and instead blame you.

Driving from a main road into a side road coming to a zebra crossing, girl runs out, I manage to control car as I was not speeding and stop way before crossing , still claim put against me and they agreed on wateva little evidence and put me at fault , hence a record and raise in insurance premium.

Please guys goskippy insurance might be cheap but if ever in a situation regards non fault , you will still be blamed for it. Strictly guys don't go with them as they are a very bad experience. Avoid at all costs. Save your self Unwanted Trouble although innocent.

THE MOST PATHETIC INSURES OUT THERE. Guys please read this very very carefully before you decide to go with these tts. By the way I’ve had only 1 accident my fault in almost 40 Years of Age never had any points. I have never in my life given any reviews on google about any thing or any one, i will leave one for these thieves though cause they make me sick. Eldon Insurance & recently Summerset Bridge or something, AKA GoSkippy. I was a customer with Eldon in 2018 and a Buss took me of the road for no reason at all came half way in to my lane, Eldon Insurance and their Pathetic Solicitors didn't even give a sh.it about trying to defend me because the buss company had powerful Insurance, so they decided to screw me and my 3 Years no claims bonuses. I couldn’t afford to either buy a car or insure so my 7 & 3 year olds had to walk to school in freezing cold weather for about 1 year. So i bought another car a year later and looked on Go-Compare and came by on GoSkippy. I liked the offer and went with them just because they were cheap, didn't even look any further as im a really careful driver with 3 young ones. Couple a months ago, some Racist Bi-tch decides to reverse on to me as i was coming around the corner witch she shouldn’t of done so, but driven straight ahead cause it was empty road, bearing in mind i was very slow just taking kids to school in the morning. I saw it what she done and braked so she touched my front bumper almost no damage to either car.(and im a very very good driver any way which ever way need it). She had already planned it because suddenly her friend appears there out of nowhere takes her kid to school and she comes out of the car shouting at me while i was being apologetic because she was pregnant. Few minutes later the same friend comes back up again, while im just being cool the bit-ch still shouting at me then her friend starts to tell me off for no reason.( I respect women a bit too much but thats me, i wish it was a 250 pound tw-at on steroids then i would of had a bit of fun) So i decided to get in the car and leave with my kids for schooling. Next thing same afternoon my Pathetic Insurance sends me an email about it. So i called them back tried to explain the situation, send them Dash-cam images & photos because i found out she lived near me while walking with wife and kids to the park. My Insurance didn't care to listen to me at all and didn't care about my point of view, i got a bit angry at the adviser i spoke with because of his attitude. (Just a little Cu-nt that thinks is a bad man on the other side of the phone). That was it, they never cared about me again, they favoured the other driver just to pi-ss me of and i again lost 9 months no Claims Bonuses. And they also decided to cancel my insurance for no reason too. Im sorry if i was a bit long but coming from me you need to take notice of my review and prepare to pay a bit more but it will be worth it in the end. Stay away of these Pri-cks. The Government should not even let these people apply their dodgy trade to the public because they are not far of Cowboy builders or simular. Good luck every one & be safe.

Avoid this company at all costs, no help in the event of a claim and totally unhelpful.

I am a third party and have had a accident with one of their policyholders.

I tried to save costs, my NCB, hire charges as well as everything else that goes with a claim so called them to discuss it. After calling them direct to discuss the claim and ask for help they have sent me a e-mail saying they will not deal with me I have to get a solicitor, MORE COSTS !

I now don't know if they will talk to a solicitor, do I have to pursue their policy holder or MIB and to make things worse I now have a motorbike completely written off and no where to go apart from my own insurance when this is the one time I want to drive it on my own!

Avoid them, Go Skippy, and Debenhams who also look like they use them.

Car got write off 9th Feb 2020 copart did value at just under 4 grand. These con people are refusing to pay out as apparently missing some paperwork. I don't think so as all in emails. The best part send my v5 to wrong address and lied they did that. Had to get royal mail to find it good job nobody lived at address they sent it to and they redirected it. Now can't take plate off car due to being written off but not paid out. Mickey mouse company that's been reported. You have been warned DO NOT USE

Update 1st April STILL NO PAYOUT 7 weeks after accepting offer with gap insurance covering the rest to finance company. Will use every trick in the book to slow everything down and only contact number is a high charging one. Ombudsman informed

Terrible customer service, seriously listen to all the reviews on here. I had 3 confiramtions of call backs from managers, nothing back. When I chased, they were all in meetings. Then a letter appeared on my doorstep saying 'We have looked at your complaint and have decided we don't accept it' If you have any further questions, please take it up with the financial ombudsman, which I have done. I encourage anyone who has experienced their service, to do the same to ensure no one else has to deal with this terrible company!

Eldon Insurance have now changed their name to Somerset Bridge Insurance... Avoid at all costs. Dreadful how these companies can keep changing their names and keep trading. Third party alleged accident which we definately weren't involved in. They have taken responsibility for the accident on our behalf.

No damage on our car. In line with the alleged accident. Now in the hands of the financial ombudsman.

Do not use this company as they are shocking, i had an accident in 2018 and still fighting the case as they will not pay out but quick enough to continue to take my monthly payment off 100+ a month and then try to renew my insurance even tho car wrote off , had there staff tell me theres not reason that they should not pay received a letter to say they was paying then they changed there mind. Also they asked for all my details keys tracker fob to the car as they was paying and kept them even tho i rang to ask why they not taken the car to get told there not paying DONT use this company or any company that these deal with”

Wish I could give them zero stars worst insurance company ever had a car accident nearly 3 weeks ago the garage sent the the valuation over 10 days ago . And the only time you have even bothered to speak to me was when I first put my claim in . You've f*cked me for the entire month dues to your poor service and dragging your heels .
