VERY expensive TRASH
Probably one of the WORST experiences for any product I have purchased. This item is not, I REPEAT, *NOT* worth $800+. In fact, it's insulting to have paid this amount of money for a couch made from paper.
This couch, from the very beginning has been extremely uncomfortable. The seat cushions are awful, offers no comfort or support. The back cushions are flat and also offer no support. I have heard things crush underneath us when we sit down/get up. At one point we removed the covers to see what it looked like underneath, and there were countless divots in the paper structure from where we sat, and on the arm rest.
The support on the bottom has never stayed in place from the moment we took it out of the box.
We have tried calling, emailing and chatting with customer service and they have given us the run around, clearly so they could buy time until the 30 day trial period was over. Here we are, months later, still dissatisfied, still no word, and now contemplating throwing away a $1000 couch after a few short months.
THIS PRODUCT IS TRASH.

Very unhappy with the customer service
Placed an order for a sectional. Had no issues assembling the couch part. Tried to assemble corner, could not figure it out, as something just seemed off, messaged customer service over Facebook, sent pictures of the product, and where I was in the instruction booklet, and asked where I was going wrong. Customer service was not certain, told me they would have to contact their superiors, who were not answering, and proceeded to send me a pdf of the exact same instructions that I sent a picture of. They messaged me next day saying I would be sent a new armrest, that mine was missing a latch, and they would send me tracking information as soon as it shipped. This was July 2nd/3rd. Messaged July 12th, asking about the status, as I had not heard anything, they said my replacement order had been placed, and they would check to see if UPS had picked it up, and they would get back to me, nothing beyond that. Sent in return request on the 18th, as they told me the product was defective, have made no effort to correct this, that I am stuck with a corner that does not connect, and an extension still sitting in the box, all taking up space. Got an email saying they would check on the status of my return, even though there was no status to check on, as I was just trying to request it. At this point I feel as though they are just putting it off until after their 30 day trial period is over, and they will just tell me that I am out of the return period with zero attempts to make it right. Very unhappy with the customer service.

Couch was easy to put together
Couch was easy to put together, comfortable for this large man. Efficient packaging and easy instructions. Match blue with blue and black with black and push the pins in. It is exactly what I needed.

I was surprised that an actual couch showed up in a box! Assembly was super easy, and we've come to find that we love it, and it's kid and pet friendly! Would definitely reccommend!

Customer Service is BEYOND amazing
Came here to leave a 5 star review DESPITE not keeping our couch. With no one under 6 ft tall in our house, the couch simply didn't work. However, we had such an incredible customer service experience that we almost wanted to keep the couch just for that! Highly, highly recommend trying it out.

Couch is fine...but you're going to need a hammer and a power drill to assemble
***UPDATE 5/20/21***
Ugghhh...didn't want to have to update this review AGAIN but they kind of left me no choice. After the below review was left I received communication from Elephant in a Box somewhat immediately :
"What you shared is definitely not the way it's supposed to be. We want to make things right for you, so we'll share your details with our product team and get back to you with the best possible solution.
We'll be in touch again soon."
Great - now I was looking forward to what their solution would be. To be honest - I had forgotten all about the fact that I'd yet to hear from them in a month until I received an advertisement from them today (5/20/21) regarding purchasing another couch. So apparently Elephant-In-A-Box is hoping that their quick response which leads to no solution will hopefully make you forget that you have a couch marketed as easy assembly but in reality takes hours to assemble with power tools due to their poor craftmanship? Not happening here. Very disappointed in the couch - and now very disappointed in the disingenuous response. Look somewhere else if you are in need for a couch.
****ORIGINAL POST 4/28/21****
After renovating our 3rd floor attic we were in need of a sofa to complete the project. Due to the 3 flights of stairs and twists and turns to make it to the space - we were in need of a unique couch set up. After doing plenty of research we found the Elephant In a Box couch and felt like it would meet our needs. We ordered on a Monday and the sofa was delivered via UPS the following Tuesday.
The cardboard box full of sofa parts weighs over 100 lbs - so it was necessary to pull everything out out on our first floor and take up the sofa piece by piece to our attic - no big deal. Once we had all the parts together up stairs - we then started what we thought would be a 15 minute assembly - as the couch advertises. The first and most important thing you have to do is put together the wood beams and line them up with the color coded connectors on the top and bottom of the arm rests. You then have to secure the beams with metal rivets. This seemed easy enough since the video and paper instructions show people effortlessly placing the beams in place and inserting the rivets. Long story short, none of the beam's holes matched up correctly with the connectors on the armrests - one of the beams didn't even have the hole completely drilled through. After about an hour of manually attempting to insert the rivets we then pulled out the hammer. We were able to knock in about half the rivets but then the hammer wasn't even enough. So, we pulled out the power drill, made the holes larger and finally we were then able to get all the beams connected to the armrests with their rivets via hammer. Once we were able to get the beams connected - the assembly process matched the paper and video instructions we had seen.
The couch itself is fine - it serves its purpose and we were able to easily get it up 3 flights of stairs. With that being said - the marketing and advertising of this couch assembly being all of 15 minutes with no tools necessary is simply not true. Elephant in a Box needs to begin including in the instructions that a hammer and power drill are now required for assembly.

It took over a mount to actually get the full sectional. When I finally got all of it the corner piece was missing a latch so they sent me the pieces but they didn’t give me instructions of where to put it. The cushions are hard and not comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are just looking for something that looks aesthetically pleasing.

I have the the dynamic sofa
I have the the dynamic sofa, ottoman and 2 large pods.
The desk is perfect for my little office setup. The style of my room is exactly what I wanted.
I've had a few hiccups with my product and customer service is amazing.
One issue was receiving the wrong order. They fixed it very promptly. Second was the cushion covers were ripping at the seam. They replaced those.
Now the things that didn't go as well as I'd like. The pods didn't last at all. They got warped within the 1st week. The idea of them are amazing but they lack protection on the top to prevent from getting dented. It's unfortunate because they weren't cheap. The other issue is lack of back support. We have other decorative pillows that we use to compensate. But wish we didn't have to.
I do like my sofa. The looks is amazing and my whole family fits nicely on it.

I’m somewhat disappointed
I’m somewhat disappointed, as I was hoping this would offer better support. I would have preferred the back cushions to be more like the seat cushions. I find myself sitting at an awkward angle, which also makes my neck have to work harder to keep my view of the TV correct with my progressive glasses. The back cushions also get misshapen too easily, and I am frustrated at having to constantly reshape them. I could deal with the back being so low if it was at least supportive, but it isn’t, and my back aches regularly. I have serious buyer’s remorse. I think I’m past the 30 days, so I’ll have to find a way to improvise. If support isn’t an issue, you will likely find these to be to your liking, but I’m not happy.

All-Around Great Experience
The customer service is STELLAR; that alone is almost enough to give 5 stars, and definitely enough to make us loyal customers. We had some timing and shipping issues and were able to speak to someone who addressed our concerns/needs promptly (and we were admittedly not "easy") along every step of the way. The couch itself is sturdy - hard to believe it came in one pretty small box! It's also very comfortable. With a throw and some pillows, it can easily be jazzed up. If you need a couch quickly, and want to spend your money with a company you can actually trust, rest easy with EIAB!

Good & Bad - but mostly good!
Got the standard sofa in charcoal and it was delivered very quickly, in one box. I put it together myself because I just moved and don’t know anyone else to help yet, but 2 people would probably have been easier. It’s a heavy box, so just be prepared for that. The instructions weren’t the best. I felt like they could be a little more detailed. (For example, the metal support rods have a middle section you are supposed to slide over to make the bar more sturdy, but doesn’t say this in the directions.) The bars also did not easily slide into place - I had to hammer them in. Also, be careful of the honeycomb support inside - it can be sharp; I got a paper cut on my knuckle. Like other reviewers have said, the back pillows are almost laughably under filled. I plan to go to a fabric store & buy some material to bulk them up, and add some pillows. Otherwise, the couch is sturdy & comfy. I love the wide arms. It’s not the most fashionable but it does the job. I wish there had been more color options to pick from that didn’t cost extra. The fact that I can take it with me pretty easily when I move is the really the main reason I bought this; I didn’t want to be stuck with another couch that I can’t move without help, or need to sell online. Eventually when I get to my forever house, this couch will probably end up in a den or kid’s red room.

Didn’t meet expectations
I like the fabric. I was impressed by the size of the box/convenience. I think the couch is overpriced and under performed. I have a 16 year old with autism and admittedly he’s rough on furniture (he tends to rock back and forth while sitting). I was hoping that it was as sturdy as described but sadly it isn’t. I agree with other reviews that the back pillows don’t have enough stuffing and become very flat. The couch itself is uncomfortable. I haven’t even made my first payment and it already looks worn. I could have gotten a sturdier couch with delivery for half the price. Not a good piece of furniture for a teenage boy.

EIAB really made things right when I had a quality control issue with my sofa
Update as of March 19, 2021--Patricia from EIAB reached out to me almost immediately to make right the quality problem I was having with the framing for the sofa I had ordered and sent out a replacement . Customer Service staff are patient, kind, and professional and the regular sofa alone is huge and roomy. Thank you so much, EIAB!
Original Review:Wanted to love this sofa, but only think it's ok for the expensive price I paid. I got the blue color dynamic sofa and extension for the sofa. Had to bang the pieces into place as the bars and other components for assembly that came with it were not made to line up evenly as they are supposed to be--cheap production.
Additionally, where the arms hook on to the ends of the sofa, those arms jiggle and wiggle like a house of cards. The sofa itself is sturdy, but why would the ends wiggle and wobble around and back and forth when the arms have been properly slotted into place as per the directions?
Additionally, I decided to take the extension off the sofa as it was too long for the area it was in so I am using it as an armless chair--but the silver colored metal hooking components on it (where it would be connected to the dynamic sofa) remain exposed--for the price paid, there couldn't be some kind of cover for those included in matching color to the item so that it doesn't look like "a piece of sofa" but like its own furniture?
Sofa and "piece of sofa" are comfortable but shouldn't wobble back and forth and feel like they might collapse at the ends. :(
Disappointed buyer.

Hands down the best customer service in…
Hands down the best customer service in the business. I was taken care of every step of the way. The quality of the product is first class, and incredibly easy to assemble. Thank you so much!

A+ Customer Service
EDIT: Customer service was fantastic. They sent me a new sofa when I explained the mold/chemical smell of the first one. The ottoman I received previously and the second new sofa did not have the same smell issue, so I wonder if the issue with the first sofa I received was atypical. I'm really diggin' the new, second sofa in my space. Highly recommend!
ORIGINAL:
I received my elephant in a box sofa today, and there are horrible chemical and mold smells coming from the sofa and the box. When I first opened it, I thought perhaps it was coming from the box, but after putting it together, it was clearly the couch. Even with windows open, the smell is overwhelming.
I contacted support for a refund, and I’ll update my review with my return experience once that process is complete.

Comfy easy to move affordable couch
I was incredibly surprised how sturdy this couch is, especially when I began setting it up! Its super easy to move, but its stable. Its also one of the comfiest couches I've sat on. I will be taking many naps on it.

I bought this sofa based on the game-changing concept.
I bought this sofa based on the ingenuity of the design and the amazing value. When I received it, I confess that I immediately had buyer’s remorse. First, I had a bit of trouble getting some of the components out of the armrest where they were nestled. Then, after a 15-minute assembly, I thought, “how could a sofa that is so light and so easy to assemble possibly stand up to constant (ab)use from a family with an energetic six year old?
The answer is, “easily.” The sofa is incredibly stable, strong, well-made, and versatile. Two weeks in and it has doubled as a jungle gym without complaint - and still looks sleek. This is an amazing product, a total game changer. It immediately made our basement the go-to room in the house. Kudos to EIAB for freeing us from the tyranny of the bulky, awkward sofa of yesteryear.

A great consideration
Very study and beautiful couch. What a surprise. We received a dynamic sofa and an Ottoman in blue color. The color is really deep and the fabric is surprisingly soft!. There are still rooms for improvement on the Ottoman such as making the cover easier to assemble but all in all a very good product. Its size is quite impressive in person as well. I will see how much damage it can take in a year but very happy for now.
