The brand launched at London Fashion Week in 2012, after Emma graduated from the Royal College of Art. She won multiple awards for her drawing and designs on graduation, and has since won business recognition in the UK and internationally, including the WGSN Global Fashion Award for Emerging Brand. Fashion boutique Browns launched her graduate collection of printed scarves; today, the homeware and lifestyle collections are stocked in some of the best department stores around the world, including Harrods and Liberty in London, with the full range available on emmajshipley.com. The company has always been committed to protecting the environment, and, in particular, endangered species. “We have given back to nature with a number of charities over the years, and in 2020 we launched an ongoing partnership with World Land Trust,” says Emma. “As part of their Plant a Tree programme, WLT are planting native trees to save, protect and restore critically threatened habitat for wildlife. We have currently donated over 3,000 trees, funded by purchases on emmajshipley.com, and we will continue to support endangered wildlife in the future.” The last few years have seen the product range grow, and in spring 2022 the first Fine China Dining collection was launched. It comprises plates, bowls and mugs, all crafted expertly in Stoke-on-Trent in fine bone china, that are adorned with four of the bestselling hand-drawn designs: Lynx, Zambezi, Kruger and Rousseau. The series has been designed to be as practical as it is magical, with all pieces being dishwasher and microwave safe. “It’s been so exciting to work on a completely new category and material for me, especially collaborating with such talented makers here in the UK,” says Emma. “It wasn’t easy translating my detailed designs, which required 12 layers of screen-printed colour; however it was worth all the hard work and I’m delighted with the outcome.” The product range will continue to grow this year, with more pieces to add to the table, new cushions and prints, plus some special collections to celebrate a decade of the brand. These are original designs, to spark the imagination, and be treasured for years to come.

Amazing Note Books

Gorgeous and high quality

The paper is just beautiful in person and easy to install. I’ve already gotten so many compliments and happy I decided to go with this bold color for our guest bath. Also, I am in the US and received the paper within one week of ordering- much more quickly than I expected. Highly recommend.

Exceeds expectations!!

I have made 5 purchases from the Emma Shipley website and have loved every single thing. Best of all, their customer service is extremely good and easy to contact. I’ve never had problems with an item, but they’ve been great with answering shipping and address issues. (For US people, please remember that they’re on a 6-hour time difference, so the answers are always very prompt, but not necessarily instantaneous.)

Regarding my purchases:
The lampshades are gorgeous conversation starters. They are shipped in well-protected boxes and very well made. Absolutely beautiful! I can vouch for small and large versions.
The wallpaper is a dream. I have “Paradise Lost” and it’s as colorful and chaotic as it appears online. It was easier than expected to hang, and the colors/matching were perfect over multiple rolls.
I have ordered two different velvet fabrics for sewing projects and they are soft and very nice quality. I find that I really need to order more than I think I’ll need due to the placement of the large motifs. It’s easy to work with and as bright and colorful as portrayed.
The cushions are, again, beautiful and well made. Mine is of the silk and velvet combination.

Eveything exceeds expectations and they seem very kind.

Mug split in two when pouring boiling water

Rated on Customer service, responsiveness and (possibly) product quality/ safety. Bought 4 explorer mugs (design, 5 stars). After 1 of them split in half WHILE pouring hot water from the kettle, I contacted on Jan 22, then again 2 weeks later (Feb 10) and am STILL WAITING for a response that has never come. Luckily just a mess and no injury when a mug full of boiling water emptied from the broken cup, but this potential quality/ factory defect should have been dealt with more quickly and more seriously, to rule out risk of it happening to others. I shared photos and asked about the possibility of a replacement as demonstrably not a user error - I hope that's not why I have never had a reply as that would be cheap/ mean. Can't share photos here, but maybe on the socials to alert others of the risk of harm. Hoped (and waited 7 mths) to deal with this more discreetly and offline, so frustrated to have to write this here. Order ejs99896

Lynx Gilver wallpaper

Very steep postage!

I ordered a selection of table place mats. Lovely items - not cheap so I am hoping that quality will mean long lasting. They are certainly thick and seem well laminated.
My disappointment is the excessive postage cost. £7.95 for a small parcel. In this day and age when most companies offer free p and p I do feel it’s way too high. Yes you get a nice little card, but it’s not good value. Quality? Well it came no quicker than anyone else and standard packaging was used. Not sure how they can justify it. Probably won’t order again for that reason.

Top Notch Customer Service

This is how it should be done, other online fabric need to match this level of customer service. Emma H Shipley fabric is absolutely beautiful and the colours are amazing. I ordered some samples to see what would look best on an antique chair I’m reupholstering. I needed a contrast and the colours I’d ordered didn’t look good against the patina of the wood. I fired off an email asking if they could suggest a different contrast, Georgia replied with various colours and popped the samples in the post. Outstanding customer service.

Difficulty resolving issue

Bought 4 mugs. 3 fine but went to make cup of coffee got water over counter down cupboard and onto my feet. There was a hairline crack. Emailed and a week later no reply. Tried ringing and can’t get through. Not very impressed

Ordered wallpaper.

Ordered wallpaper.
No shipping information
I contacted Emma Shipley, 2 days later they replied and told me that UPS tried to deliver it, but no one at home, so they’ve left it at a pick up point that I can’t get too.
I’ve been told to sign up to ups and try to re arrange delivery.
No joy there, just going round in circles, so I’ve cancelled the order and asked for a refund.
It’s a shame because I really liked the look of the wallpaper, on line and I’d hoped to order more, but I don’t plan on jumping through hoops, to get it.

What a frustrating pallaver

We purchased the Creatura paper in Teal…

We purchased the Creatura paper in Teal from EJS.com and I LOVE this wallpaper, the colors and style were exactly the quirky whimsy that we were looking for to use in our downstairs hallway and we get compliments on it a lot. (There’s also a running giraffe & animal theme throughout the house and I love feeding into it with this paper – we even purchased brass giraffe handles for the closets and the paper goes perfectly with my giant brass giraffe!) I will say though that there was one HUGE issue and it’s the way that the pattern was printed. It could have very easily been a pretty straight shot since the pattern is in rows of the same size, but the way it was printed left a tiny sliver of the pattern running down the edge making it a terrible pain in the butt to line up properly and hang. Fortunately we hired professionals to install it but it took them 11 hours, way longer than they thought it would and I blame the wonky pattern placement that could have easily been avoided. Had my husband and I needed to hang this ourselves it would have been a one star review! I can’t fathom why this misprint was even made in the first place and why it wasn’t immediately corrected. Also, I tried leaving this review on the Emma Shipley website but it “magically” never got published, just as an FYI. Overall we’re very happy with the end result though!
