The product applies really well with a masonry roller and pole. Not sure yet about the water resistance. It’s not clear whether or not you should brush off any bloom before applying. The next day delivery didn’t work on both my orders which was frustrating

Top quality service and product
The ordering and delivery was first class. I am tucked away in rural Devon and yet with both orders the paint arrived within 2 days.
The paint is surprisingly thick and requires vigorous mixing. I was glad to have a paddle attachement for my drill which did the trick. The house has tyrolean render so was applied with acheavy duty roller. Coverage was good and with two coats the finish was excellent. The thickness really gives the feel of quality and I am hopeful that despite being within sight of the sea emperor will give me first class protection.

Next day delivery on all my orders and no delivery charge. I’ve previously reviewed the masonry paint which is thick and creamy with excellent covering power but I also tried the textured coating on some areas of render that had been patched. The original spatter dash finish is impossible to match exactly but the finish I achieved using the special texturing roller was better than previous attempts with other products. The finish is sharper edged than the original but a big improvement over a smooth patch, easy to apply and seems to have great adhesion even on existing paint.

Poor resistance to bird pooh !
Bought white paint for capping stones on a wall near the road for my house where the old paint kept peeling off due to trapped moisture. stripped old paint and used emperor. too soon to see if it lasts longer than the old paint.
However any bird pooh on the paint leaves nearly a hole in the paint down to the wall. it totally dissolves the paint. Disappointed that it has so little resistance compared to the paint that was on the wall. Yes bird pooh is bad for paint but for this emperor paint it attacks it.
So dont recommend it on flat wall surfaces. Maybe only good for vertical walls. This should be pointed out on the web site.

Emperor Masonry Paint is designed and tested for use on vertical masonry surfaces, where its breathable, water-repellent properties provide the best long-term performance. Horizontal surfaces, such as wall capping stones, are exposed to prolonged standing water and harsher weathering, so they are not an application we recommend for this product.

Order arrived next day and was well packaged to avoid any damage. I have started to apply the Textured Basecoat and so far so good. Really happy with the quality of the masonry paint. Easy to apply and gives a great finish. My only suggestion would be to sell the ancillary products in smaller quantities as I am left, as a DIYer, with large amounts of anti fungal and primer which will go to waste.
