Tampered With Return

I purchased underwear from End and returned it unopened and with the hygiene seal fully intact, within the return window. End refused to refund me, citing the Consumer Contracts Regulations hygiene seal exception, despite the fact that the item had not been opened or worn and the seal was untouched.

I escalated formally in writing, citing the relevant legislation and my right to a refund. End maintained their refusal throughout, offering no meaningful response to the points I raised.

When the item was eventually returned to me, the hygiene sticker had been removed. It was in a different condition to how I sent it back.

I have been a customer of End for a number of years. The handling of this dispute has been poor at every stage and I will not be shopping here again. I would caution anyone purchasing items that might need to be returned to think carefully before doing so.

As clearly outlined on our website, underwear is classified as a non-returnable item for hygiene reasons, and we do not accept returns for this product category under any circumstances.

This policy is displayed prior to purchase and applies regardless of whether an item is unopened or has any form of seal intact.

For clarity, our Terms & Conditions do not reference or rely on the condition of a hygiene seal when determining return eligibility for underwear.

Our customer support team reviewed your enquiry in line with this policy and responded accordingly.

While we understand you may disagree with the outcome, the decision was made based on our stated returns terms, which are applied consistently and fairly for all customers.

With regard to the condition of the item when returned to you, items sent back after being rejected are handled as part of our standard process to ensure they are correctly identified and returned, however they are not resold or placed back into stock.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that this experience has led to frustration.

We do appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback, and while we regret that this did not end as you hoped, we stand by the decision made in line with our published policy.

I received frequent updates or tracking of my parcel and it arrived earlier than the original date proposed. The ordering was a simple and direct process and I did receive a discount for first purchase. That is always a bonus.
