Lack of communication skills

I was basically told my natural boobs are medically wrong as I “didn’t develop properly as a kid”… but surgery also won’t look right either. So basically they’ve taken someone who wasn’t insecure before the consultation and wanted the surgery as more of a fun enhancement, labelled my breast as underdeveloped and triangular so I’ve walked out feeling bad about my breast which I didn’t before but now also basically told the implants will look ridiculous leaving me in a no win situation. Natural= insecure now thanks to the surgeon. Implants= will look ridiculous according to the surgeons description. So insecure it is. Wish I never went as I was happy before!

Firstly I would like to say that the 3…

Firstly I would like to say that the 3 stars is a balance between 5 stars for the surgery itself, and 0 stars for the care received by the recovery nursing team. My surgeon performed extremely well and gave great insight into the procedure and all associated risks. Dr Ali the anaesthetist was wonderful, as were the scrub nurses Oliwia and Nibus. Unfortunately, the whole experience came crashing down when I went into recovery and was ‘looked after’ by nurse Oxana. Post-operatively I became panicky as a side effect of the anaesthetic wearing off. As a doctor, I know that this is a common side effect and should absolutely be something that recovery nurses are trained in handling sensitively and compassionately, which was not my experience on any level. As I was crying and hyperventilating, Oxana ‘shhh’ed me and told me to ‘be quiet’. This is out of order and disrespectful and I urge the team to consider providing further training to mitigate this horrible experience happening to others. This completely caused me to spiral and meant my panic attack was more severe and long lasting than it would have otherwise been. Had I been met with reassurance and kindness, I could have calmed down and been less ‘disruptive’ which was clearly all she seemed to care about. As a medical doctor I am also well aware of the ethical laws and principles underlying practice and she did not follow these when she delivered an IM injection of cyclising with no warning shot. Please re-train accordingly. Such a shame as this takes away from an otherwise 5 stars service. I had to mention this as I really do not want future clients to have to endure this mistreatment and lack of compassion.

Patient comfort, reassurance and safety are extremely important to us, and we genuinely regret that you felt unsupported during what was understandably an emotional and vulnerable moment following your procedure.

We would also like to clarify that the IM injection referenced in your review was anti-sickness medication provided to help manage post-operative nausea symptoms. Our team did ask if you would like this injection and this was discussed with you and consented to prior to administration.

We understand that shortly afterwards you experienced heightened anxiety and a panic attack whilst recovering from the anaesthetic, which can be a fairly common response following surgery and one our staff are trained to support patients through. Oxana spoke with you to better understand the cause of your anxiety and attempted to help reassure and calm you during this time.

Whilst we appreciate this was not how the interaction was perceived by you at the time, we would like to reassure you that Oxana’s intention throughout was to support and reassure you during a heightened situation, rather than dismiss your concerns. We are truly sorry that this did not come across in the way intended and that you were left feeling upset by the experience.

We would also like to reassure you that our team did everything possible to ensure you felt safe and comfortable before discharge, including encouraging you to remain with us for as long as needed. We can see you stayed on the ward for approximately five hours following your procedure, which is significantly longer than the usual recovery period, to allow you additional time and support.

We always take patient feedback seriously and will reflect on your comments carefully as part of our ongoing commitment to patient care and communication. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

I underwent breast augmentation with Dr Maklad

I underwent breast augmentation with Enhance in 2022 and raised concerns very early on that my implants appeared to have bottomed out.

During my follow-up appointments, these concerns were acknowledged and revision surgery was discussed under Enhance’s further surgery policy. In addition to the standard revision option, the surgeon discussed alternative implant options, including MemoryGel Xtra implants, which were recommended as potentially more suitable to improve upper pole fullness and reduce the likelihood of the problem recurring.

At the review, I was advised that using MemoryGel Xtra implants as part of the corrective surgery would cost £1,750. I was prepared to proceed on this basis because my aim was to correct the original issue and achieve the result I had expected from the outset. At my subsequent review, however, I was informed that because the condition had not “worsened,” this option was no longer available and I would instead need to pay the full cost of another breast augmentation, which was quoted at over £5,000.

My intention was never simply to have larger implants. The discussions around different implant types arose because the surgeon advised that these implants may provide better support and help reduce the risk of bottoming out recurring.

Recently, after my concerns remained unresolved, I posted a 1-star Trustpilot review describing my experience. Following this, Enhance initially agreed to arrange a consultation with another surgeon for a second opinion. I explained that I was keen to be seen again and to work towards a fair resolution, but that I did not feel comfortable removing my review until the matter had been properly assessed.

I was then informed that management and their surgeons were unwilling to offer any further consultation while my review remained live because they felt it did not accurately reflect events. In an effort to move matters forward, I removed the review. Despite this, I was subsequently told that management had reconsidered and no longer wished to see me at all, advising that an alternative provider would be more appropriate.

As a result, despite raising concerns early, being willing to attend further consultations, and removing my review in good faith, I was ultimately left without any further assessment or corrective treatment from Enhance. The ongoing uncertainty and unresolved concerns have caused me a great deal of stress and insecurity and have had a significant impact on my confidence and wellbeing.

Following a review of your records and consultation notes, our documentation shows that concerns raised regarding bottoming out were assessed appropriately and that further surgery for correction was discussed and approved under the further surgery policy with the applicable £500 theatre fee. At the same consultation, an alternative elective option was requested by you involving implant replacement and re-augmentation with larger implants which was discussed at a separate greatly reduced cost.

Our records further show that you were advised the approved further surgery offer would remain valid for 3 months while you considered your options. As significant time had passed since this review in 2023 and there was no documented progression of the concern, the original further surgery approval was no longer considered applicable when you recently reached out to our team and left this review.

We would also like to clarify that the alternative implant option discussed during your consultations was presented as an elective treatment choice involving different implants and re-augmentation, rather than as part of the approved corrective procedure under the further surgery policy.

Following your recent correspondence and review, we did explore whether a further consultation as a returning patient for a new procedure may be appropriate. However, as an ethical surgery provider, we believe it is important that there is mutual confidence and trust between both patient and clinic before proceeding with any elective treatment. Based on what you expressed with regards to our team throughout your review and communications with our team, it was ultimately felt that it would not be in your best interests to proceed as a new elective surgery patient with Enhance Medical Group and that seeking treatment with an alternative provider would be more appropriate.

Whilst we appreciate this was not the outcome you had hoped for, we can confirm your concerns were reviewed carefully throughout and all decisions were made in line with the clinical assessments and contemporaneous medical records available. We are sorry to hear of the impact this experience has had on your confidence and wellbeing.

We would also respectfully note that all appropriate aftercare and review processes were followed in relation to your original procedure. However, given the length of time that has passed since the 2023 review, any future surgery would now be considered a new elective procedure rather than treatment falling under the original further surgery approval process. For this reason, and due to the lack of mutual confidence in proceeding further together, we feel it would be best for you to continue your care elsewhere. Critical review part 2

4. After my rupture I used AI to translate the unreadable terms and conditions on their ‘contract’, they watch you sign, after seeing you didn’t read it . Per their terms I asked if the surgeon was registered/insured. MELISSA stated, ‘ its all on our website’. This was a lie. Their ‘top surgeon’, is reported via a story for ‘botched surgeries’, and lost a court case. He has not paid the balance and owes £100,00. Hee continues to work. Enhance are using this surgeon and not informing potential clients. No informed consent. When I asked about it? They immediately refused to treat me – They had no reasonable response for the wrong advise given by Melissa or the poor history of their best surgeon. No person should have a surgery by someone who did something poorly, failed to correct it and refused to pay a claim awarded against them. Then they blamed me – gaslighting me. Stated they wont treat me because trust is broken. Trust is broken because they gave me a consultation with a surgeon who was sued and when I found out, they couldn’t answer my questions. Gave me incorrect information. Stating he is their best surgeon. Who is the worst?

5. I asked some basic questions to their care team after leaving confused. The care team was unable to answer my questions, so I opened a complaint for clarity. Again unable to answer my questions they refused to treat me, or communicate further. They couldn’t connect the dots with their own terms – and clients following their advise. Its not just me they abandoned. Iv found many online. In the tiny print you cant read with your naked eye, in the 12 months post care, if you have an issue and they fail to help – and you need to complain, they tell you in their terms they will refuse after care. A company that has basic 12 month after care – refuses after care if you have to complain due to their inadequate service. Crazy poor service you’d expect in a third world country. You get surgery in the UK to he safe. You are not.
There is more but im saving the story rights. I will be sharing photos. These will include ultra sounds, MRI, & implants.

Things they don’t verbally tell you that I will.

1) If something goes wrong in your surgery you have to pay £500 minimum in the first year towards correction
2) After 12 months your implant could rupture. You would pay the same price if not more to replace them even though its been just a year. You need to have these finances ready or the rupture can impact your health
3) A lot of people get sick from implants. Some times straight away. Sometimes after 2 years or 10. Eventually lots will likely get sick. Your body has an immune response. You may not know its the implants. Body aches, brain fog or general under the weather feel. Research BII before you get them.
4) Lots of things can go wrong and are common. Capsual contraction, ruptures CAUSED by implantation, bottoming out, poor scarring, asymmetry. The list is massive. Your body can simply reject the implant. The immune response can trigger dormant auto immune diseases.
5) If you have an implant removed or replaced, they don’t tell you if its just the implant. The capsual or if its enbloc. None of this was mentioned in my consultation.
They will likely pick a few points of my review to try and sugar coat their mistakes, do not be fooled by this. Instead take note of the points they do not address. If they comment and try to manipulate my evidenced review I will leave an updated one.
They are the cheapest for a reason.
Im lucky enough to be explanting in a few weeks on the NHS who were shocked that mine were done in the uk, and the clinic reacting the way you have.
This clinic were lovely when I was paying and excited. However the second I asked a simple question, not only could they not answer but they refused to treat me. That means they only treat people uninformed. The joke? Their own terms tell you its the clients responsibility to be informed. I have their responses and their terms which are evidence. If they refuse to treat people that try and self inform, in line with their terms, that means they treat 100% of uninformed people. Take that in. Look at the negative reviews and the positive. They will align.
Its clear – their are likely lots of bad reviews. Too scared to invalidate after care etc. Enhance will get a chance to comment on the story. I loo forward to it.

We are sorry to read that you remain dissatisfied following your consultation and complaint process. We appreciate that experiencing an implant rupture and considering further surgery can understandably be distressing.

As outlined in our previous correspondence, we conducted a full review of your records, consent documentation and communications. Implant rupture is a recognised risk associated with breast implant surgery and forms part of both the written consent process and manufacturer literature provided prior to treatment.

We would like to clarify that our aftercare policy includes cover for rupture occurring within the first 12 months following surgery, subject to the terms of the agreement.

Beyond this period, Mentor implants are supported by the MentorPromise Protection Plan, a manufacturer-led warranty programme which may provide financial assistance towards implant replacement in eligible cases of confirmed rupture.

Regarding revision surgery costs, section 9.1 of the treatment terms refers to the applicable theatre reservation fee for revision procedures and does not indicate that “something has gone wrong.”

To confirm, a Reaugmentation following rupture is a secondary procedure involving additional surgical complexity and is therefore priced differently from a primary augmentation procedure.

We would also respectfully clarify that known risks associated with breast implant surgery, including rupture, capsular contracture, asymmetry, scarring and Breast Implant Illness (BII), form part of the consent process and are included within the written documentation provided prior to surgery. Following implant removal after rupture, implants are routinely returned to the manufacturer for testing, which is standard industry practice.

Patients are entirely entitled to ask questions and undertake research prior to treatment. Our decision not to proceed with a new procedure was not based on this, we welcome our patients to ask questions to ensure they feel fully informed.

However, following ongoing correspondence, as an ethical surgery provider, it became apparent there was insufficient mutual confidence to appropriately proceed with a new procedure. We therefore felt it was in the best interests of both parties for you to seek an alternative surgery provider moving forward.

In relation to comments concerning surgeons and external media or legal matters, all surgeons practising within the UK are required to hold appropriate registration and indemnity arrangements. However, it would not be appropriate for us to publicly comment on third-party allegations or matters unrelated to the care provided by Enhance Medical Group.

Due to patient confidentiality and the sensitive nature of clinical matters, it would not be appropriate for us to comment further publicly while the complaint process remains ongoing. We are sorry that you feel disappointed by your experience and sincerely wish you the very best with your ongoing treatment and recovery.

I’m 6 days post opp and I can honestly…

I’m 6 days post opp and I can honestly say I couldn’t recommend enhance enough! The team is brilliant each and everyone of them has played such a big part in my surgery and recovery still got a bit to go with my recovery but honestly they have made it such a lovely experience , if your thinking off booking with them do it ❤️

Friendly staff

Friendly staff, great communication, would defo recommend, great surgeon DR Hamza, did exactly as I wanted and explained everything clearly and didn't mind answering all my questions I had alot!
