Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 330 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the service, citing issues with car availability, unexpected cancellations, and problems with the rental process itself. People frequently encountered difficulties with customer service, describing staff as unhelpful, dismissive, and hard to reach, leading to frustration and unresolved issues. Reviewers also reported being overcharged or facing hidden fees, with final costs often exceeding initial expectations due to undisclosed charges for things like fuel, insurance, or winter tires. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific staff members who provided exceptional service, were friendly, and went above and beyond to resolve issues or assist with their rentals. These positive interactions often involved efficient processes, helpful assistance with car exchanges, and a pleasant demeanor from the staff.

Ricardo is a saint!

We arrived at the Ft. Lauderdale location (1880 State Rd) after closing on New Years Eve. We had 2 cars reserved and our confirmation phone call did not mention an early closing time. We were warmly greeted by Ricardo who informed us that all the computers were down and we couldn’t get our cars. After sharing our plight - 6 people, an infant and a 2 year old, and all our luggage, Ricardo said he would see what he could do to help us. And that’s what he did. Even though we got different cars, he was able to help. We are sooooo grateful. He saved us at 4:45 on New Year’s Eve. Thank you Ricardo.

Appalling service

Appalling service! Manager at Weston Super Mare
Had a car hire booked through an Insurance company. Email stated pick up 12-1pm, telephone call at 12.30pm stating it would be 1.30pm. 2.10pm I called to enquire where the pick up was? The Company stated they were at traffic lights and would be with me asap! 2.30pm I called again and they’ve insisted I had cancelled and re scheduled for the Monday. I was understandably angry, but did not raise my voice or use any form of bad language, then the Manager insisted I treat her like a human a being? Which was a cope out as she knew she was in the wrong and tried to turn it around on me. I have put in a formal complaint and requested an email stating the revised date and time for the pick up, but not received anythIng so do not know if they are going to honour there side of the contract?

The personnel at the Glen Carbon…

The personnel at the Glen Carbon Illinois Enterprise was very unprofessional. I have rented for the last 4 months the same way and this time they said it would be different. No explanation except company policy. Did policy change for 2026 without letting anyone know? That is okay Avis rental will not get my next 6 months of renting for work. Loss of about 10K in revenue.

Avoid Enterprise Rental Cars in Park City, Utah

Worst experience with Enterprise Rental Car in Park City, Utah. I contacted the branch 24 hours prior to schedule my shuttle ride to their location. I was told by Theo they did not even have my AWD Large SUV (*three rows to shuttle the kids to the slopes) and they don't offer a shuttle on Saturday's. The best Theo would do is offer me a small RAV4 SUV. If anyone has been to Park City,Utah it can take 2 hours to get your skiers into the other canyons (ex. Alta/Snowbasin/Brighton) and taking multiple trips would not work. We ended up having to spend $1600 on a private driver to and from the mountains. If you don't have an AWD or chains on your vehicle the police will not allow you to enter the one way in/one way out drive. Total nightmare all because ENTERPRISE doesn't care about the customer and they also LIE on their website (*no vehicles, yet they accepted my reservation and no shuttle). @ Chrissy Taylor- President and CEO you failed the customer. It's your job to do better.

Great customer service and follow up by Brady Shea at the West Ashley (Charleston, SC) Enterprise facility. He called and emailed the final rental documents ensuring that we had everything we needed for our records. Enterprise should be happy to haver Brady on their team.

Unfair treatment for Employees

Tell the Area Managers to not leave printouts in the jockey box of quarterly bonus receiving $100,000, when the employees were denied time and a half on holidays. This means he makes at least $500,000/ year. Most Boise families are starving. Insult is leaving your evidence for low paid employees to clean after use of a free high end vehicle.
Not a good company to work for!

BE AWARE

BE AWARE

I’ve been using Enterprise at Dublin airport for over 10 years, never had any issues at all even when returning the car until now! The car I got was in awful condition dents, scratches, missing carpet and looked like one that staff used. I took pictures of all of this before I left and insisted this was added to the agreement (it wasn’t). The staff member walked around the car never pointing to anything else told me the tyres were all fine, again nothing was noted.

Upon returning the car the staff member got down on the ground and ran their finger across all tyres (never been done before either) and lone behold we had issues. I was told one tyre had a bit of rubber missing and the other tyre had 3 chunks at a cost of €250 each which is scandalous. Tyres don’t cost that much.

I drove the car from the airport to my house in Dublin and back again not causing any damage. I am 99.9% certain these lumps were missing when I picked up the car and were not pointed out at all. I have an excess policy that will pay out but this was beyond the point when I know I didn’t do this damage & it felt like a scam.

Over the last 18 months all the car I rent are in awful condition, scratches, filthy upon pick up and wipers never ever work.

I would advise everyone to go over the car and tyres with a torch and take your time don’t be rushed out of the place. Having looked at other reviews this looks to be a common “theme” lately with this company as a way to get money. I’m so angry and will rethink ever using Enterprise again. After 10 years this is a shame & management should actually look into this!

Absolutely horrible experience

Absolutely horrible experience! Customer booking ref number: 007500042088.

We booked a 7 seater- they asked us to take a 5 seater as they had made a mistake. We were promised that it would be exchanged that evening, they would drop the 7 seater and take the 5 seater.

We had two guests arriving the following day so we said ok. It’s been 4 days. They don’t answer the phone, they don’t answer WhatsApp. Worse experience ever.

We now have two people in our party catching taxis constantly as they don’t fit into the 5 seater. We are out of pocket for this everyday!

Enterprise seems to be a reputable company but not if they obviously don’t try and right their own wrong. Not worth the hassle, take your bussiness elsewhere.

Do not depend on Enterprise!

I made a reservation for December 23 through January 5 for a midsize sedan. I went to the Ocala Downtown location, mistake #1 I arrive at 3:45 and wait
{ she’s making personal call on her cell phone} finally they bring a car around I open the door and OMG it smells like cigarettes and BO and there’s trash in the back seat and floor and the seats are dirty so I ask what year is this nasty car and I get told it’s a 2019! Oh no you are NOT sticking me and my family in this what looks like their personal vehicle for 980.00! It shouldn’t even be in their fleet anymore, I see other newer vehicles sitting there and I ask about those and I was told they were reserved, ummm I made my reservation 2 weeks ago what’s the difference, and I was told take it or leave it so I left it! I went to Hertz got a brand new 2026 with less than 500 miles and cost me 720! Stay away from Enterprise and especially the Ocala location! They are rude and shady shouldn’t have that old of cars in their fleet anymore

Dream Team in Mt. Pleasant, SC

Enterprise in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina has what I would call a "dream team." I had a complicated rental situation following a car accident. The entire team was wonderful. They were kind, upbeat, helpful, highly competent, and assured me the complications would be solved and they were. Each and every person on the team was so positive. I will rent from Enterprise in the future for sure. Thank you to Lorenzo, Jake, Emma, Imira, Alec, and Nick. You exhibit a customer service that is very difficult to find in the world these days. Well Done to each of you.

Scammed by Enterprise

Rented an automobile in October, 2025. Traveled from Richmond, Va, to Myrtle Beach, SC (only). A week later, I received a $73 charge on my card for tolls in Pennsylvania. I was never within 3 states of Pa.
I disputed the charge through the Enterprise EZpass customer service, and they told me I would need to call the Pa Toll authority, and take it up with them.
I contacted the Enterprise Customer Service, and was told I needed to call the Enterprise EZpass service.
I got screwed by Enterprise!

Terrible Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance from this company is deplorable.
Giving them a one star review is overly generous. I dealt with a call center in India. The representative was barely understandable. After multiple explanations and 35 minutes on the phone and repeated instructions: they sent the tow truck to the wrong location (miles away), they had my name (John) listed as Mary. To make matters worse they sent a tow truck for a battery jump when this was not the mechanical issue with the car. They did not provide any directions for the tow driver to take the vehicle. To make matters worse, they wanted to transport me 90 miles away to rick up a replacement vehicle. This level of incompetence is beyond the pale. If this is how Enterprise Car Rental does business, I will never rent from them again.

This is very unpleasant experience for Christmas time. We rented a mini van from Washington DC and tire preassure was running low. Then we went to an Enterprise here in Miami and sent us to the airport. airport enterprise sent us to a King tire to check the tire but they couldnt accomodate us they only have one mechanic. so my husband called Enterprise road side assitance. They were able to find us a minivan. When we get to that location they refused to give us a swap. it is a total mess ! Never again !!!

Never use Enterprise to rent a car

I ordered a 14-day rental for a car for a stay in Italy. My flight to Florence was delayed, and I arrived a day late. When I went to check out my car, I was told that I had voided the contract and I would not receive a refund.

I will never use their services again!

Circus

Terrible customer service trying to push a van when I reserved an executive SUV. Had to wait 2 hours for them to admit and get hold of the category I had reserved. Thinking that was all, got charged for 50€ of petrol and had to submit a photo of the car being empty when I picked it up, bunch of clowns really - Dun Laghoire/Ireland

I had a car crush and my insurance works hand in hand with enterprise. Enterprise quickly got me a vehicle next day and the process was easy and quick. The car was 2025 very new. They made my claim transition better as I was cruising around in latest car and when I took it back I even gave it a clean as the way they interacted with me was very professional and friendly. I would deffo go back to even spend my own money to rent from them.

Worst company ever

Incredibly bad customer service. Booked a courtesy car for a disabled person while their vehicle is being repaired well in advance and they fail to deliver. Expecting a disabled person to simply do without. Worst rental company ever.

Rent from Enterprise!

We rented a vehicle from the Seattle Airport location last Thursday. We were able to check in online and go straight to the garage to pick out our vehicle and get keys. The process is wonderfully streamlined and efficient.
Same on the way back - maybe 5 minutes from arrival to walking away from the car with our receipt in our email. Their employees were cheerful and friendly as well as knowledgeable. This rental was altogether a pleasure and I HATE car rentals

Thank you,
Jane

Rented a car for 2 days through my bank/breakdown cover after my car needed to be repaired. No issues returning it and my holding deposit was returned quite quickly. A month later, long after the booking had be closed, I discover Enterprise has stolen £500 out of my account and neither the office I got the car from nor Head Office can find any trace of the money being taken or a reason why. 10 days before Christmas and Enterprise no closer to returning my money.

Stay away! If i could give them zero stars i would!

Had the worst experience with enterprise rent a car Cork branch. If i could give them zero stars i would! I rented a car three weeks ago with the Cork branch (Blackpool) i had hoped to only have it for one week while my car was in the garage but unfortunately had to extend my rental as my car took longer to fix due to waiting on delivery of parts. Last weekend i was coming up the one way in Spring lane, Blackpool Cork with my 6 year old daughter after collecting our Chinese and a notification came on the dashboard check tyre pressure so i immediately pulled in off the main road to get the car to a safe location. I saw that the front left tyre was flat and i panicked as i know nothing about cars and i had a child with me so i called my uncle. He came down and checked the car and Enterprise had given no spare tyre with the car only an electric pump. They never told me there was no spare tyre when i rented the car nor was it anywhere in there rental policies so how was i supposed to know this as it is not common knowledge!! My uncle tried to pump the tyre but no luck. I must have hit a pot hole or something coming up the one way but didn't feel anything nor was i speeding so i didn't know anything was wrong until the car alerted me. As it was the weekend the Blackpool local branch in Cork was closed. I left the car in a safe location off the main road and returned home and the next morning (Sunday)at 9am i contacted enterprise head office in Dublin who gave me a number to ring to repair the tyre. They assured me i wouldn't be charged for the call out fee and may just need to pay the price of a new tyre. I explained i had a child and lived a 20 minute walk away from where the car was parked up so i would need at least 20 minutes notice before the company who were gonna replace the tyre for me would be there as i needed to sort a lift down and enterprise told me on the phone i had to be there in person while they changed the tyre! I then got a phonecall that they were by the car and i wasn't there! I explained that noone had notified me and i was supposed to get 20 minutes notice as i needed to sort out a way to get there! Enterprise hadn't gave them a contact number for me and gave the wrong postcode at first!! I eventually made my way to the car and they replaced the tyre they told me in fact i didn't need to be there in person so again more miscommunication from enterprise! And also that i wouldn't be charged for the call out they would send the details to enterprise. I returned the car today to the Blackpool branch and upon inspection they said the car was perfect no scratches or damage and i even gave more diesel back in the tank than needed! Almost double the amount. I said it to them about the tyre last week and the manager of the branch was so so so rude! He told me i would have to pay €350. I said €350 for a tyre? Its not a BMW at all? Its a seat ateca! Also not what i ordered i actually ordered a small car but on the day they gave me the Ateca! The manager was beyond rude and told me he could charge me €2700 if i want. That was a threat! As that is the amount for damaging a car. I said i didn't damage any car. The car is perfect. I unfortunately got a flat tyre on a bad road and needed a replacement. They left me with no choice but to ring to get the tyre replaced as once again i note they did not give a spare tyre!! I told him i obviously didn't mean for this to happen. I was stranded with a child 20 minutes away from my house at night while this happened! I would be happy to pay for the tyre but a tyre is not €350 and i was assured on the phone i would not have to pay for the call out by enterprise and by AA. He told me he would be keeping my €250 deposit and i would have to pay another €100. I expressed how upset i was over this as it is almost Christmas and i am now down €350 i don't have because of a small problem with a tyre. The manager Michal showed no remorse. Was extremely rude and arrogant and i would never ever deal with them again. I have rented cars in Ireland before and across Europe and America and never had a problem with any other car company's nor has anything like this happened to me before. I have reported this to the head office and was told the area manager would contact me in 5 days. I hope he does! I would not recommend enterprise to any family or friends for how i was treated and how i was spoken to and threatened by the manager! I have a pretty big social media platform and i will be advising people not to rent from there on there to as i have had the worst experience ever and i wouldn't like others to basically get scammed the same. STAY AWAY!
