Avoid dealing with this company

Had installed an EO mini pro several years ago. Support from EDF and Juicenet X stopped after 5 years.

Not recommended as my charger now is a dump charger and not a smart one as it should have been.

Almost £1000 obsolete in 5 years time. Not a good deal of course!

Tried to contact company and was told that support for this was from the beginning not their responsibility. I see that other EO products users have now same issues after the end of 5 years.

This email was received last year:

We wanted to share an important update on the functionality of your
EO Mini Pro 1.

From 29th February 2024 you will no longer be able to access and manage your EO Mini Pro 1 through the “Enel X Way” OR “Juucenet” app. This will mean that any existing charging schedules will be cleared; however, your EO Mini Pro 1 will still work, and it will work as a plug and charge device.

This is due to an end of contract with the software provider of the app.

EO stands for doing the Exact Opposite of what it says

“EO stands for Energy Online,” according to their website. But not in real life. My EO Mini Pro EV charger, installed at a cost of over £1000, will be taken Offline, by EO, in November. Which gives lie to both their sustainability and their customer service claims. The charger works OK (I’m one of the fortunate ones) but, after November, will be a waste of carbon. There is no attempt to ‘look after’ loyal customers either. We are simply left to stump up another £1000+ on a replacement. Our only fault being to trust EO in the first place.
Perhaps EO should rewrite their strap line? Along the lines of “EO stands for the Exact Opposite of our stated values.” Beware!

Short-lived product now costing £900 to replace.

Like so many others here, I discovered that my EO MiniPro 2 will no longer schedule charging from November 2025. I bought it in 2021 and USED UP my one-time government grant to get it installed. Since my car can't schedule charging either, I am forced to pay £900 for a new charger and installation after only 4 years' use - no grants this time! When I complained to EO, they offered me £300 compensation, but only if I signed a gagging clause. I refused. They then offered me £400, again, only with a gagging clause. I was left wondering what they had to hide. I value my freedom to speak much more than this, and won't be bribed into silence. I suggested they supply a MiniPro3 instead, without gagging, and I would pay for installation. They refused. A company of this size ought to take responsibility for their decisions and have a proper, transparent programme of compensation for users. Not only do we have to fork out another £900 after only 4 years use, but our one-off grants (now worth £400) have been wasted on their short-lived products. If you are thinking of buying from EOCharging I have three bits of advice:
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

My EO charger purchased 3 years ago…

My EO charger purchased 3 years ago stopped working. There is next to no customer support, no phone number that works and the chat 'help' is no help at all suggesting a contact an electrician, pay hundreds of pounds and no guarantee the charger will work (in which case I'll be left having to pay for a new one). Surely there must be consumer protection laws against this kind of behaviour?!

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!

I had an EO Mini Pro 2 installed in Sept 2022. 9 months ago I was informed that they are no longer supported this device. They went on to explain that all smart charging functionality will cease and it can only be used as a redundant charger. This cost me £650 to install and lasted for 2.5 years.

I rang them to ask if they would fit a new model at a discounted price. Nothing. They weren't interested. They didn't care and they honestly can't even be bothered talking to you. This company is an absolute joke. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid EO charger products

Mini Pro 2 EO charger purchased in Jan 2024, and they announced in July 2025 that they'd be removing Smart feature support for this product as of November 2025 (inside the 2 year warranty period), they will be removing support for the smart charger functionality (clearly advertised as a feature when being purchased), essentially turning an expensive investment in to a dumb power point. While they say that you should "just use your car to manage the smart charging" - they sold a product which was purchased in good faith and that product shortly won't fulfil those advertised features, and what's to stop our EV companies doing the same thing and pulling their smart charging support and telling us to "just rely on the charger"?

When contacting EO's support and complaint departments, I've got nothing more than copy/paste boilerplate responses. Given this experience, I would recommend avoiding EO products as they cannot be relied on the provide a usable product.

I really hope EOCharging goes ‘bang’…

I really hope EOCharging goes ‘bang’ for the greed that they are feeding there too brasses with.
After only a few years my ‘future proof’ charger is not worth the screws it is drilling into the wall by.
Why why why sell something knowing it does not meet government requirements.
This should be investigated.
DO NOT BUY EOCHARGING PRODUCTS

EO Mini 2 Pro fail to register multiple times

Try to connect my EO mini 2 Pro to their EO Smart App without success, many attempts with Android and Apple without any success, going thru all the process connect to EO, reboot, etc ending with following message:
"Registering EO Mini with EO Cloud", with error message "Fail to register – error_5006".
Called their support no clue on what the problem was, trying to blame it on my internet.
November will be turned into a dumb charger, can wait, i don't need any of their cloud.

Planned obsolescence and greed.

Your charger is working fine? Too bad, its old. We need more money. We disable the online features so you buy a new model.

Everyone affected, search openeo on github. 10 minute job to remove their firmware and get the smart features back.

Disappointed about the "green" company policies.

Bought a charger from the company 5 years ago. Worked fine at the beginig and it has a very nice design. Now, because it is too old, all the smart features of the device have been disconnected and it only work as a basic charger port now. There are no alternative apps to download and no support from the company to recycle/upgrade devices that according to them are too old.
It looks like they just care about selling new EV chargers and cutting all the support for the old ones. Not sure if a company that cares about the planet and about electric vehicles should be selling products with limited life. Now I must upgrade my charger and throw the old product to the bin.

Another voice added to the chorus regarding my EO Mini charger turning dumb in November. Incredibly poor from them, awful customer service regarding it. If they truly cared then when is the discounted upgrade offer to swap out the old unit for a new one?!

EO Mini Pro 2 support discontinued after only 3 years

Purchased my EO Mini Pro 2 in July 2022, and recently found out it's "smart" functionality will be turned off come November this year. I paid around £600 to have this charger purchased and installed and now just over 3 years later it's becoming almost defunct. Unable to set charging to off-peak times, or even lock the charger itself, meaning anyone could pull up on my drive and start charging their car unless I turn off the switch on the fuse board every time I am done using it.

Even before all this, the app and support was absolutely atrocious. Wouldn't have recommended the charger to anyone even before this absurd end of service debacle.

Another 'end-of-life' cautionary tale

As so many others, I have a 4-year-old EO Mini Pro 2 that has been declared 'end-of-life'. I bought it as a smart charger. In fact, it had a government grant as part payment specifically for smart chargers. From November 2025 it will become 'dumb'. This has nothing whatever to do with regulations as they do not apply prior to July 2022. They are claiming 'evolving standards'. This is nonsense. They are simply not prepared to pay to keep running the older platform. They probably knew this already when they were still selling it. If I had wanted a 'dumb' charger I would have bought one cheaper. I wanted a smart charger and if I had known that EO would pull this stunt I would have bought something else. My complaint elicited a cut-and-paste response and request for compensation rejected. If you are in the market for a new charger, I recommend you do not buy from this dreadful company. Be warned, I since found out this is already the second generation platform no longer 'supported'. They don't care and highly likely will one day do it to you too.

UPDATE: No joy from EO. I have replaced the software on the controller (in fact a Raspberry Pi) courtesy of minceheid/openeo on Github (thank you for your sterling work). It's able to do what I need with no fuss. I have deleted my EO account. Meanwhile Citizens Advice forwarded my case information to trading standards.
