I bought the EO Mini Pro2 in September…
I bought the EO Mini Pro2 in September 2022.
I now have been told as this does not meet UK regulations set out in June 2022 that they will discontinue the app which means not only will I not be able to control the charging sessions to come on at off peak times, I also wont be able to monitor the consumption so I dont know how much of my electricity is being consumed by the car.
If they knew since June 2021 that there will be a new regulation is June 2022, why did they continue selling that product, more so even after June 2022 when the product is deemed not fit for purpose?
I see some people have been slightly fortunate that they have been offered £200 or £400 good will gesture. As I bought from a 3rd party seller who is ignoring me, what do I do?
Also, even the £400 refund for those fortunate ones will not cut it since an Electrician will charge alot more for labour and a replacement product even if the cabling doesnt need redoing.
What a disaster. The few pennies we save on petrol/diesel, we pay through the roof to these rip off charging companies and manufacturers of cars who over quote the range. It's been a total rip off.
New Internet Provider bu no QR code on my charger
The help that I got via the online chat was very efficient and solved the problem within 20 minutes.
I had recently changed internet provider & I couldn't adjust it on the app as the QR code on the side of the charger had worn away from the weather. The EO assistant replicated the QR code online for me & waited while I entered my new information to ensure that it had worked. Highly recommended!!
I too am an aggrieved Mini Pro 2 customer
I received the same email as everyone else falsely stating my Mini Pro 2 does not meet current legislation (UK Smart Charge Point Regulations) and they are stopping smart functionality. Unfortunately for EO, The Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 explicitly state that the provisions only apply to private charge points sold from 30 June 2022 onwards. Therefore, any EO Mini Pro 2 unit purchased prior to that date is not subject to these regulations. This is outlined in the Regulation under Part 1, Regulation 3(2), which reads: "These Regulations do not apply to a relevant charge point which is sold before 30th June 2022."
I was offered £200 as a partial refund along with the following terms;
1. You agree that this payment is in full and final settlement of all existing and future complaints and/or claims against EO Charging relating to the EO Mini Pro 2, the EO Smart Home App, and any related representations, features, or marketing;
2. You agree to keep the terms and existence of this offer strictly confidential, and not disclose them to any third party (including on social media, online forums, or other public platforms), except as required by law;
3. You agree to remove any existing public statements, reviews, or posts (including on forums or social media) that refer to EO Charging or this complaint in a negative or critical manner, within 3 business days of acceptance; and
4. You agree not to make or encourage any future public or private statements regarding this matter.
If you accept this offer and later breach the confidentiality or non-disparagement obligations, EO Charging reserves the right to recover the full value of the refund (and/or other costs) and pursue all appropriate legal remedies.
As per other reviewers advice, contact Citizens Advice and after you have told them your case, tell them you want it sending to Trading Standards for investigation. I will also be submitting a claim via the County Courts for a full refund as the charger no longer complies with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and Citizens Advice provide support for how to do this too.
Don't forget to contact Watchdog and Rip off Britain whilst you are at it.
Also run an online search as there are a LOT of discussion groups online about EO - the more everyone stands up for their rights, the more chance of a positive result.
Illegitimi non carborundum!
Get Trading standards involved against EO
I am also a Mini Pro 2 customer. I was initially offered £300 as a partial refund for my 4 year old charger which I refused as it came with what can only be described as a gagging order, and threatened that any mention of the payout would lead to them recovering the money by legal means. I refused the offer citing other reasons and asking if instead would they replace the charger with a new compliant one.
I also told them that I had raised a case with Trading Standards via the CAB.
They replied that they would increase their offer to £400. There were warnings that I would be sorry if didn’t accept this offer as I would be unlikely to get this amount via a small claims court.
I declined the offer again because I feel the company does not deserve customers, and feel that they should treat all of us equally.
May I urge you all to ring citizens advice and after you have told them your case, tell them you want it sending to Trading Standards.
update…
Has your home charging provider’s product altered or changed since its installation?
Are you being asked to continue to pay for and use a product that isn’t the one that you chose or bought?
And are you being properly compensated?

stay away from eo charging
installed eo mini pro2 home charger and now they are not supporting it, despite multiple communication no real support, no effort or support to upgrade, just cut loose
Although my faulty Mini Pro 3 was under…
Although my faulty Mini Pro 3 was under warranty and installed by an EO subcontractor, I am being told that the warranty is invalid because the installation was by an unauthorised installer. Avoid this company at all costs.
NEVER purchase from this supplier.
My EO Mini 2 charger has had it's smart functionality discontinued by the company, rendering it useless for off peak charging. If the company had any ethics they would have offered a replacement or discounted upgrade. Instead I am left out of pocket and with a useless charger, that originally cost over £1000.
Shocking app that didnt improve in all…
Shocking app that didnt improve in all the years i have had it. Now revoking it due to dubious UK regulation claims
Be warned
Be warned, wish I’d read some reviews before buying an eo charger. Possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had with anything I’ve ever bought. There customer support can’t or won’t help. Login details are incorrect, after a month of emails and online chats (one was over 3 hours) still no answer
Incredibly poor experience
EO have discontinued my charger, turning it into a 'dumb' power point after less than 3 years of ownership. To make it worse, they are refusing to help me unlock it to remove schedules from the device. To quote their support "As there isn't any further assistance that we can offer at this time. this case will be closed."
EO have unlawfully decided to discontinue the Mini Pro 2
EO have decided to discontinue support for the charger I purchased only 3 years ago.
They are using false information and hiding behind the new smart charger regulations knowing full well that these only apply to NEW chargers and not ones purchased previously. Trying to fool customers only goes one way.
Moreover, they have refused to respond to any correspondence I have sent them related to this. It’s been over a month.
Would recommend you avoid anything from this company at all costs.
Charger 2 years old
Charger 2 years old. EO have to decided withdraw all support and smart features from November. Be prepared for similar tactics on there other chargers. Not an honorable company to deal with.
Do not buy. They dump you. Proper unreliable.
Wow. Paid loads for a home EV charger only to find out they can just walk away and withdraw support.
Would not touch this company again with a bargepole.
Besides the ropey App for controls and an occasionally malfunctioning box, just informed by EO that they’re no longer going to support my charger and it will become a dumb live terminal. Problem is, it’s so glitchy that I don’t even trust it to perform this duty reliably.
I think I’d probably buy a fossil fuel vehicle in preference to having to use an EO charger in future.
39 month old mini pro 2 charger is now as dumb as…
I bought the charger in March 22 and just been advised it will no longer be supported and the app and smart feature won’t work. I tried to contact the. Implant, but they have ignored emails and there is no sign of any kind of trade in, discount on a replacement unit.
Terrible commercial decision by them
Unacceptable product obsolescence.
As others have stated here, this company has made my home charger "dumb" after only 5 years of use. These charge points are an expensive purchase and are part of a home electrical installation. What other part of your home electrical system would you accept becoming obsolete after 5 years?
Just been told my eo mini pro 'SMART'…
Just been told my eo mini pro 'SMART' charger is being turned into a 'DUMB' charger in Nov 2025. I paid a lot of money for this charger and would like to think EO would compensate me for the loss of use.
I'm not holding my breath.
Would I buy EO again....................................NO
Would I recommend EO................................NO
Would I give EO 1 star if zero was available....NO
take heed.
SUPPORT TODAY.....GONE TOMORROW
Second rate company ditch valued…betrayed
Second rate company ditch valued customers rather than correct the mini pro 2 problem poor customer service.
Do not buy from this company
Don’t buy EO charging units from this company.
They told me that they’re not going to support the software from my EO mini pro two in November this year so I’ve asked them how do I charge my car? They said you have to make it into a dumb charger unit so I asked them how do you do that ? They said just select auto on your app there isn’t auto on my app so I’ve asked them through their stupid telephone selection and chat service how do I do that? If I haven’t got the facility on the app they haven’t replied please avoid this company. Do not buy from this company. They are a complete waste of time and a bunch of losers. I wasted my money on this unit over two years ago.
Bricked in less than 5 years!
Bricked in less than 5 years!
emailed 7th July to be told EO were deliberately bricking my smart charger. The claimed reasons are not truthful. The regulations apply to NEW installations, not existing. Indeed the intention is to ensure smart chargers are used, not break existing chargers.
I paid extra to get smart functionality - will never use EOcharging again
I purchased a EO Mini Pro 2 smart…
I purchased a EO Mini Pro 2 smart charger a couple of years ago and have just been told they are removing all the smart features.
Do not buy from this company!
