Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 73 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the cancellation process, finding it extremely difficult and often resulting in continued charges even after attempts to terminate their memberships or personal training contracts. People frequently reported being charged for services they had canceled or for additional fees that were not clearly disclosed during sign-up, leading to frustration and unexpected financial burdens. Reviewers also highlighted issues with payment, including unauthorized recurring charges and difficulties in resolving billing discrepancies, sometimes necessitating credit card cancellations. Though some people mentioned positive experiences with specific staff members, praising their professionalism and helpfulness, the overall sentiment regarding staff and management was negative, with many reporting disrespectful behavior, lack of accountability, and poor communication. The personal training services and pricing were also a point of contention, with some feeling the training was ineffective or overpriced, and others experiencing unexpected charges or commitments not initially disclosed.

Violates contracts & blames you!

Joined this gym in September, 2025. Signed up for a personal trainer (PT for the rest of this moving forward) on 09/25/25. Was VERY clear before signing anything under the gaze of the high-pressure salesman that I would only sign up on the condition that they would train both myself and my partner under a single contract, for a single fee, understanding that that would only get us half of the normal time each.

It takes them nearly 4 weeks to find a trainer willing to accept those terms. I have been billed twice in that time for 4 sessions we have not received.

Finally get a trainer on 10/22/25. We have gone through 2 trainers and no sessions, because the only way to get a trainer on the terms agreed to is to lie to them about the terms apparently? Mind you, we were happy to just get our money back and call it good at any point up to this. But they finally find someone willing to train two people for the price of one. We like this guy, cool dude, everything goes on as normal for 7 sessions.

12/04/25, we get pulled aside after session 7, mind you that at this point we have been billed for 8 sessions already. My wife and I have been trained in tandem all this time without any issue. Suddenly, it's "not safe" and they need her to sign up for her own contract for "safety." I say there's no way we can afford to do double contracts, the whole reason we were only willing to do a 2f1 in the first place. Suddenly, safety doesn't matter to them, because "for only an extra $60 per payment we can" blahblahblah. It was never about safety like they pretended, just pure greed. Minion keeps stepping away to "try" to greenlight anything with his District Manager (DM for the remainder of this) and we flat out tell them "these were the terms your people agreed to, your change of management in this location means nothing to us, the only options are to let us finish out the contract, or cancel our contract immediately as of 11/07/25 so that we no longer get billed for a service you refuse to provide." Minion says that's not a call he can make, gives us DM's email. We contact the DM that night, she ignored it for a while, we contacted her again with an ultimatum, and ultimately after several weeks of being ghosted, contacted EOS Corporate and ABC Fitness, who is in charge of their contracts, to let them know that we have taken being ignored as tacit agreement on the part of the DM for that location to cancel our contract retroactively to 11/07/25, and that any and all fees or charges they still want to take from us may be directed to the DM at her, and the companies', expense.

They continue to harass us via text, email, and phone for a few days, and I make very clear over the phone that if they continue, I will blast them publicly, report them to the BBB, contact lawyers, and come after them for violating the contract, intimidation, and harassment, and anything else I can get to stick, if they don't leave us alone or if they try to send the invalidated contracts balance into collections.

Months of blissful silence ensue, it's glorious, I (mistakenly) think it's truly over.

03/18/26, a new phone call to my partner from ABC Fitness, on behalf of EOS, looking to collect on fees she allegedly owes.

Eos is actually terrifying

Eos is actually terrifying. Aside from the gyms being overcrowded and badly maintained, I went in to have my membership downgraded. They gave me a hard time and were kind of rude, but agreed. Then the next month, charged me the wrong amount. Went back in and once again asked for the downgrade. Asked to talk to a manager to make sure it happened. Manager refused to come talk to me because she doesn't "deal" with downgrades. Kid at the desk assured me he did it. Next month guess what? No downgrade. I've now put in to cancel my membership entirely. This place is scary shady and I will never do business with them again.

**WARNING about billing at EOS Fitness

**WARNING about billing and cancellation practices at EōS Fitness.**

I rarely write reviews like this, but this experience has been so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others.

When I attempted to cancel my membership, I discovered something shocking: **you apparently cannot cancel without first paying a renewal fee that hasn’t even come due yet.** In other words, even if you are trying to cancel *before* the renewal date, they still require you to pay the renewal fee just to process the cancellation. That alone felt extremely unfair and misleading.

Because I could not get this resolved through normal channels, I **went into the gym in person** and spoke directly with the General Manager, Chris Marriotti. I explained the billing situation and my inability to cancel the membership.

After hearing the situation, **he personally told me that both my wife’s membership and my membership were canceled and that everything was taken care of.**

Unfortunately, that assurance appears to have meant nothing.

Despite being told in person by the general manager that everything was resolved:

• The memberships still appear **not to be canceled**
• The account is still being billed
• **Late fees are now being added**

So after doing exactly what they told me to do—going in person and speaking with management—I am still dealing with charges and a membership that was supposedly already canceled.

At this point the issue isn’t just the billing policy. It’s the fact that **even when management promises the problem is fixed, the billing continues anyway.**

That is extremely concerning.

If you are considering joining this gym, please **read the contract very carefully and understand exactly how cancellation works before signing anything.** What seems like a simple membership can become very difficult to get out of.

This has easily been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had with any business.

EOS exceeds bad management

EOS has exceeded the bad management practices that Gold's Gym had. The front desk employees are rude and demonstrate a total lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Broken equipment that remains broken for prolonged periods is commonplace. The gym and locker rooms are dirty. We have had no hot water in the showers for days without explanation. They do not enforce rules to protect clientele such as no selfies in the locker rooms. On a more disgusting note, there is a member who has a habit of hawking phlegm and spitting on the floor by the pool. She also hawks in the ladies locker room water fountain. Many people have complained. Today Jaxsen, a front desk employee copped an attitude when I reported this member's disgusting behavior which is a health hazard. If she had TB or COVID, the entire gym could become infected. Jaxsen rudely asserted that " there's no wording in the contract that addresses spitting. I've done it myself. So you can be mad all you want, but we're not going to address it." I think that comment says it all. Nothing changes, it only gets worse. If you need a gym membership, you might want to consider elsewhere.

Lack of customer service

I am so disappointed with the lack of accountability and customer service. I have contacted your team multiple times regarding incorrect charges, and every single time I was ignored. No response, no resolution, nothing yet you continue to withdraw money from my bank account.

This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Charging a customer while refusing to respond to their concerns shows a serious lack of integrity and respect.

I expect a manager to review this immediately, stop the incorrect charges, and contact me to resolve this situation. If this is not handled promptly, I will escalate the issue further through my bank and appropriate consumer protection channels.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious until this company improves its customer service and billing practices.

The worst of the worst

The worst of the worst. Dirty, smelly, disgusting. Always a wait for machines. But try to quit. They make it a nightmare. you haveto go in person to get your member #, then they forced me to create a new account just to cancel. Wtf. They made it so awful that I became so annoyed and defensive hoping the brain donor at the desk would just get fed up. He did. I win. So happy to be done and not be scared of catching an unnamed parasite. Gross.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Unresponsive Management

I had a very frustrating experience at this gym after signing up for personal training sessions. Despite my credit card being automatically charged for the sessions, the gym's internal system still shows my payments as unpaid.

I reached out multiple times via email to both the regional manager and the personal trainer manager regarding this issue, but unfortunately, they have completely ignored my communications. This lack of response is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on their customer service.

Because of this unresolved issue, I feel compelled to escalate it further. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the state attorney general, and possibly even filing a lawsuit. I cannot recommend this gym due to their extremely poor communication and lack of accountability. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere!

EOS Fitness Hwy 6 and West Rd Houston, TX

I have been a member of EōS Fitness at the HWY 6 & West Road location in Houston since the day it opened in 2025. I was genuinely excited about this gym and canceled memberships elsewhere to commit here. Unfortunately, my experience in January 2026 has been deeply frustrating and honestly humiliating.

I had an encounter with an employee named Emily who was extremely rude, aggressive, and treated me in a way that felt racially biased and completely unprofessional. I was denied access to the gym because my payment had been due two days prior. I calmly explained that I had already made the payment online that same morning before arriving. Despite this, she demanded that I personally prove the payment to her or leave the building. This was embarrassing and unnecessary, especially considering the payment was less than 48 hours late and already resolved.

When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told the manager was “there” but unavailable because they were working out. That alone was shocking. I then had to contact a general manager from a different EōS location, who confirmed that the way I was handled was wrong and assured me my concerns would be escalated to the location manager and district manager. I never heard from either of them—not once.

Instead, on February 12, 2026, I received a threatening email from EōS Risk & Asset Protection in Carlsbad, CA accusing me of behavior “averse to the interest and well-being of EōS Fitness” and issuing me a Formal Warning, with no prior investigation, no phone call, and no opportunity to be heard. After everything I went through, this felt insulting and completely out of line.

This entire situation has been extremely frustrating and humbling. I waited months for this location to open, supported the brand, and followed their policies—only to be treated like a problem instead of a paying member. The lack of accountability, communication, and basic respect is unacceptable. This experience has shown me that this is the type of behavior EōS allows and protects, and that is deeply disappointing.

I expected better.

This gym looks great

This gym looks great, and it is, until you try to cancel. Its insane how hard they make it, they've even threatened to send me to collections after i finally got frustrated and blocked them on my card. Also don't fall for their hard push for personal training during their initial tour.

Alma school location in Mesa... AVOID.
The A/C is either broken or they never turn it on🥵 This place is a sweat shop. Why would you not have decent AC where people are working out? It is so muggy in here it feels like Florida. THE SWAMP. Not "The Yard," it is literally THE SWAMP.

I signed up for fitness training under…

I signed up for fitness training under the idea that I could quit whenever I liked. 2 out of first 3 sessions go t cancelled. When I got charged for a fourth I went to gym and asked for my money back. they told me I was on the hook for 5 more payments of $88 each. I cancelled everything immediately through my bank. They altered their billing name to continue to bill me. They are the worst business I've come across in a very long time

What a rip off

What a rip off! They still charge you for canceling for another 30 days even though you just paid your membership. It’s always so busy you can never get in to any machines or swimming you want. This place is the absolute worst. They will scam you. DON’T SIGN UP!

EoS fitness has been a horrible gym…

EoS fitness has been a horrible gym experience. Specifically the membership sign up and cancellation process. EoS fitness staff are traditional liars. I signed up for a membership, and 1 week later I had to cancel. Even tho i was only active for 1 week and I cancelled my account with a 30 day notice, EoS fitness stated my membership was never cancelled and is still trying to charge my card months later even after i requested the cancellation. When i call EoS and speak with rep, they say they will continue to charge my card $25 per month until i pay the outstanding balance, even tho the card lost and stolen. It started out as $25, then $125, then $137, then $163. This gym is the biggest bull $hit gym I've ever encountered. STAY AWAY. I would never recommend them to anybody. They have high pressure sales tactics. I was told I wouldn't be charged the annual dues for 4 weeks after I signed up, and almost immediately, EoS was trying to charge my card for the annual dues. EoS fitness is the reason I will never sign up for another gym for the rest of my life. WORSTE GYM EVER

Mesa

Mesa, Arizona. I was scammed out of my money. I just spoke with Collin, who informed me the company will not follow through on what their former manager Taylor told me would be done. I had been charged after previously cancelling at a nearby location. She apologized and said that location has had many of the same complaints. She signed up my daughter and I and guaranteed she would have those previous charges removed/handled. Apparently you can’t even sign up unless unpaid charges are paid, as I was told today by Collin. So how did she sign us up if those were not being handled? Now he told me they will not be following through on what she said and I would need to pay what I was told would be handled. Not only that, they also charged me the annual fee quickly even though I was told that would be pushed out at least a few months. He provided me no further solution and provided no options for anyone else I could talk to. I 100 percent do not recommend this company. Save your money and join somewhere else. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I can remember. I’ll never sign up again and will never recommend them.
