Flawless family ski holiday. Staff were superb and everything ran like clockwork. Esprit Ski will be greatly missed but will travel with their sister company Inghams in the future.

Mixed feelings...

Hi,

First of all here’s the positive stuff, the staff were really lovely, sweet with the kids, enthusiastic and it’s great having the kids taken to lessons and back. Listening service a big plus.

The food was ok.

The main thing we had a problem with was the hotel, the black concrete that greets you at reception is awful, the desk area looks more like a youth hostel type place, the bar area is not planned out properly, little seating and basic bar, not really what you expect from a £8000 holiday... restaurant area is tired and too bright at night, basically the whole hotel needs refurbishment and painting from the boot room to the nursery on the top floor.... the whole thing is a very strange lay-out. It was so cold where the spritelets changed and you had to walk through their area to get to the boot room, all very strange really.
I don’t blame the staff, Esprit should have done this place up before putting staff or guests in it. Even the outside is awful, just looks like they plonked an Esprit sign on a tired building.
Liam, Emily did their best in management,
Simon and Rachel and the others did great in childcare, Will behind the bar was good too. A lot of the staff did seem very young, you need a mixture of younger and older and experienced staff to run this kind of business.
We’ve booked with Esprit several times in the past but we’re not sure we will again.., these are not cheap holidays at almost £8000 for a family of four.
Best wishes for the future, spend some money Esprit on improving things before you take.
Val d’Isere is a fabulous resort, will definitely return, just not to this hotel and maybe not with Esprit. Shame really as we’ve had good experiences with them in the past.

Another great holiday in Gressoney

Another great holiday in Gressoney. Peter the resort rep is very professional and readily available to answer questions. Freya, whose in charge of the kid’s club and activities is great and was very helpful when my son had issues with the food. Everything was well organized. The hotel is a typical skiing hotel and is comfortable. Better wi do would be appreciated but this is a common problem in the mountains.

We have just returned from another excellent holiday with Esprit at Courchevel Crystal 2000. All aspects of the holiday were pretty much perfect.

Great holiday in Chalet Dahlia, La Rosiere

Great holiday in Chalet Dahlia, La Rosiere. Our third year with Esprit and the childcare was again faultless. Happy children and happy parents (lovely hosts, plentiful food and wine).
Hope to book again for next year but I notice there will only 5 nights catered instead of 6 but the prices are no less. The brochure is advertising it as an advantage to try local restaurants but with tired children who have skied all day I'm not sure about this. I will be checking out Esprit's rival companies before booking for 2019.

Half term peak week family of 6

A very mixed performance. Pleasant staff, but lacking some professionalism for the money. Below standard facilities and general conditions, e.g. Leaking roof and no hot water on first 2 evenings! Food just ok. Several staples "runout" by day 3 on the busiest week of the year. Enough said!

6th year with Esprit

6th year with Esprit and still the childcare makes all the difference. Chalets, chalethotels and food etc. are no different from any other mid-range company, but the childcare is faultless and both kids (9+3) had a great time in lessons/spritelets, snow club and cocoa club. Back again next year.

Only small gripe is that evening child listening finished at 22:30 rather than at 23;00 in previous years; and next year apparently not providing chalet food 2 nights instead of usual 1...

Great childcare

Great childcare (loved all the games and songs they taught). Nice chalet, though pictures on the website made the rooms look much more spacious then they really are. The hot tub didn't work for the first five days, but they did do everything they could to try and fix it. Sweet chalet hosts. Good food. Flight times weren't nice. Don't remember being talked through all the various options. Perhaps there wasn't much they could've done about it. Would recommend Esprit.

Had a great time in Alpe D'huez

Had a great time in Alpe D'huez. The staff were brilliant and the food excellent. As usual, the childcare was fantastic and my son had a great time. I would normally not hesitate to recommend Esprit. However, I read in their preview brochure for next year that they will only be providing catered facilities on 5 nights.... What are you thinking??? Do you really think that parents with small children would be excited at the opportunity of "trying the local food" on 2 nights?? All you really want to do is relax in the chalet. I can only assume that this is a cost cutting exercise and it is VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Fabulous family ski holiday to La Rosiere

Fabulous family ski holiday to La Rosiere. The Esprit staff were very helpful and always to hand, can not recommend the childcare enough. Our kids loved every part of their ski holiday and we managed to get a proper holiday in too confident that the children were looked after and entertained.

Courchevel Hotel Crystal 2000

First time with Esprit and have to say, best family holiday thus far. Conditions were exceptional which is obviously outwith Esprit's control but hotel was typical 3* French fare so no surprises there, beds were comfy, showers were hot, food plentiful and tasty and the complimentary wine free flowing. Child care was well thought out, well structured and managed above expectations. Enthusiastic team of "nannies" who seemed to genuinely bond with the kids over the week. From nursery, to ski lessons, lunch club, snow club, cocoa club and baby listening service, everything was done very well. Met many Esprit repeat customers, some to the same hotel year on year. Speaks for itself.

Excellent holiday!

This was by far the best ski trip we have ever had. We stayed at the Crystal Hotel 2000 in Courchevel 1850. This was our third time to Courchevel, but our first ever trip with Esprit Ski. We usually self cater - not sure we will ever self cater again after having such a great time with Esprit.

Location was perfect, ski in/ ski out. The Hotel, although basic, was clean and tidy and had everything required. The staff were outstanding. For such a young team (including the hotel manager), they just worked so hard and always as a team. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent all week.

Unfortunately there had been an illness in Courchevel which also made its way to the hotel. All the staff were very professional and ensured that everything was done to stop the illness from spreading. Constantly cleaning door handles, lift buttons etc.

Our 15 month old spent most days in the Nursery. By the end of the week, he was like a different little boy! He has progressed so much by interacting with nursery staff and other children. We were kept informed of his daily activities and they were always completely honest with us, even when he had a tough first day (first time in a Nursery).

Thank you Esprit Ski. That was what you call a holiday.
