I am currently doing my Exciplex treatment for alopecia, at the Este Medical Group Birmingham branch and the experience was excellent. My consultant Sayka was very professional, informative, and made me feel comfortable from the beginning.

Being at Este medical has been amazing since the moment I started my treatment. Nearly every week I have Tannaz doing my treatment and she is so supportive, calm and hard working. She always does the job perfectly well and is always so patient. Any query I have she always answers and is so kind.

I recently had a series of PRF sessions with Este, carried out by Dominika, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Dominika was extremely professional, thorough, and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. Sophie was absolutely amazing. I’d been coming for tattoo removal sessions for a while which are of course painful. When coming to Sophie it was one of the first times I left feeling that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. She was so understanding and patient. I will be coming to my tattoo removals from now on not as worried as I know I will be in safe hands. She is a credit to the company!

I recently had the ESTE hair treatment at the London branch, and I’m honestly so impressed with the results. My hair was feeling dry and a bit damaged before the treatment, but after the treatment my hair feels incredibly soft, smooth, and much healthier. The clinic in Istanbul was fantastic — modern, impeccably clean, and extremely well organised — which immediately made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in excellent hands.
Alina and Mario were wonderful throughout the whole process. Id like to start off how happy I am with my aftercare Sally, irana and lumia have really looked after me since having my surgery. How careful and supportive they've been helping me with what comes next after my hair washes I honestly have to say they have been amazing. Not to mention the hot chocolate drinks they make me they've made my aftercare go really well

My experience at Este Medical has been nothing short of amazing so far!
I have alopecia and been receiving hair regrowth laser treatment for my scalp and Shirin especially has been a gem. Not only is she lovely, I have seen a significant improvement in my scalp already which I started seeing pretty quickly. Thank you Este medical for your help! I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested.

On August 11, 2022, I attended Este Medical Group for a cosmetic beard treatment intended to make my beard appear darker and fuller. I did not have scalp hair loss and was not seeking treatment for hair loss.

During my consultation, I was told the treatment would involve topical minoxidil 5%. Finasteride was never mentioned as part of the treatment plan. I have written messages confirming that I was told the treatment would involve minoxidil only.

At the appointment, a dermaroller was used across my beard area. Immediately afterward, a topical solution was applied directly to my face. I have written communication confirming that the product was applied to my facial area.

I later discovered that the product used contained finasteride 0.4%. Finasteride is classified in the UK as a prescription-only medication. I was not informed that this medication would be used, and no prescription was discussed with me.

The product was manufactured by Quest Pharmacy. The label on the bottle states:

“Apply to the scalp only. Do not apply on any other parts of the body.”

Despite this wording, the solution was applied directly to my face following microneedling. I still have the original bottles with the labeling.

I was completely unaware that finasteride had been used during my procedure.

No GP was present during my consultation or treatment to oversee the use of this medication.

In the weeks following this treatment, I began experiencing severe and persistent symptoms that I had never experienced before.

I was later medically diagnosed with Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS).

The symptoms that developed after the procedure include:
• Loss of libido
• Erectile dysfunction
• Loss of morning and spontaneous erections
• Reduced genital sensitivity
• Decreased semen volume
• Sexual anhedonia
• Penile and scrotal numbness
• Muscle pain and weakness
• Chronic fatigue
• Muscle twitching
• Insomnia
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Emotional flatness
• Memory impairment
• Slowed cognitive processing
• Difficulty concentrating
• Tinnitus
• Dry and thinning skin
• Changes in body composition
• Hair loss

These symptoms appeared after the treatment and have continued for over three years. My symptoms have worsened over time rather than improved.

Post-Finasteride Syndrome has been discussed in recent media coverage, including reports by BBC and ITV highlighting patient experiences of persistent side effects associated with finasteride.

Prior to this appointment, I had not experienced these issues.

I have reported my experience to the relevant authorities and continue to seek medical support.

This has had a severe and ongoing impact on my physical health, daily functioning, and overall quality of life. I am sharing my experience so others are aware of what happened in my case.

Came in for my 10th and final wash today, The service and the hospitality from ALL Este staff has been amazing.

If your thinking of a hair transplant, do not under estimate the after care service, worth every penny, which is something not always considered when having a procedure like this.
