Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 559 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently struggled with confusing payment machines and mobile applications that completely failed to work properly, directly resulting in unexpected and heavy parking fines. People also reported that formal appeals were routinely rejected by the administration even when they provided completely valid evidence of payment or permits. Some reviewers were not happy with the excessively high parking costs and poorly maintained locations that frequently flooded or lacked any clear signage. Consumers additionally mentioned that trying to contact customer support or resolve ongoing disputes felt virtually impossible, as aggressive debt collectors were quickly involved in the process.

I paid to park in a Euro Car Parks car…

I paid to park in a Euro Car Parks car park through Just Parks.
Just Parks sent photo information as to where to park along with full information and a booking reference for my booking.
Despite paying to park two weeks later I received a parking charge notice in the post. It’s impossible to get hold of anyone and the appeal form on Euro Parks website will not allow me to add photographic evidence of my booking.
I want to ensure I get this resolved before the reduced parking fee comes in to begin enforced

Don't use their car parks

Don't use their car parks. I parked in the car park at the Glasshouse in Newcastle and bought a ticket. I got a fine for not having a ticket, so I sent a copy of my bank statement. They then said I hadn't entered my car registration number properly. Seems highly unlikely to me, and at least as likely to be due to a faulty machine, given others' experiences, as my error. I won't use them again.

I wish to draw POPLA's attention to a serious issue regarding Euro Car Parks' appeals process.

I have made numerous attempts to submit my appeal through their online portal. Each time I enter the required details and submit the form, I am simply taken back to the beginning of the form, preventing me from completing the appeal. As a result, I have been denied a fair opportunity to challenge the PCN.

I also attempted to contact Euro Car Parks by telephone. However, there is no option to speak to a member of staff. The automated message clearly states that they do not discuss PCNs over the phone, leaving me with no practical way to resolve the issue or report the fault with their online appeals system.

I respectfully ask POPLA to take this matter seriously. A parking operator should provide a functional and accessible appeals process. In my case, I have made every reasonable effort to appeal but have been prevented from doing so by what appears to be a failure of Euro Car Parks' system.

I therefore request that POPLA takes this into account when considering my appeal and investigates whether Euro Car Parks is providing motorists with a fair and effective appeals process.

Very frustrating and disappointing experience.

The main issue was not the charge itself, but how the situation was handled.

I only received the earlier warning long after the visit it referred to had already happened. Because of this delay, I had no way of knowing that vehicle registration was required during visits made in that period. Once I became aware of the requirement, I followed the process immediately on later visits and had proof that I was a genuine customer.

I submitted an appeal explaining this clearly and waited for a response. As the payment deadline approached and I was concerned about additional charges, I paid while still expecting my appeal to be considered. I was then told afterwards that because payment had been made, it would be treated as acceptance of liability and my appeal would not continue.

From my perspective, this process felt unreasonable and extremely unfair. I was not trying to avoid responsibility — I explained the circumstances, complied once informed, and acted in good faith throughout. The handling of the case left me feeling that my situation was never properly considered.

It's a scam - DONT PARK THERE

It's a scam - don't waste your money. Oh and if you get a parking notice through the post because you were a few minutes over, don't waste your time appealing - they're thieving Bs. Save your money and park elsewhere.

Would give 0 stars if I could

Would give 0 stars if I could. Seems like everybody doesn’t have a brain cell in that company. Sending letters to an address I haven’t lived at for 5 years and were aware we’d moved as license address had changed. Claimed we parked outside of bays despite the car park being a literal construction site with no bays. They bully people into making payments and I hope the company goes bust and the ceo lives homeless because quite frankly a company that robs a young family of £170 because they can’t be bothered to update records or hire people with brain cells is on them. I’ll be parking in any other place but these car parks. Can’t wait to see them go bust. Pathetic bunch of losers.

Hall Road retail parking fine

Went to Hall Road Retail park with my friend didn’t notice the car park sign for just 3 hours and had only been in three of the nine places and neither of the shops we visited had anywhere to register your car details if you were going to be longer. It would have been nicer if it was made clear when you went in a store that you only had a limited time, so on receiving the letter has now put a dampener on the day. We were half an hour over. Have paid the bill but not happy about it. All I can say is they are money grabbers.

An absolute scam of a company

An absolute scam of a company. The car parking signage and layout in Oxford are designed in such a way that you will most likely overstay and will get a fine. The parking area itself is not safe either. Shame on you.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. This company operates at major retail outlets and imposes time limits hidden in small print. If you overstay by 10 minutes there is no option to top up parking and immediately receive a £60 fine which escalates if you have a dispute. The process to appeal is not straight forward (good luck with that). If you wish to communicate with this company you do this only in writing and they will dismiss any grievances and refer you directly to a collection company. Horrible company. Would be very interested how much of the revenue is gained by sharp practice. AVOID!

Had a fine from Morrisons castle Bromwich, parked in disabled with my disabled mum, which was her first day out after coming out of hospital, has bowel cancer, so is incontinent needed to change herself. Takes a while to get in and out the car let alone off and on the toilet. 12mins over is taking the piss. And to get both letters at the same day is beyond a joke.

Thieving crooks!

Thieving crooks!

I drove into their car park at Rugby railway station and tried for almost 10 minutes to download the app to pay for parking but couldn't due to poor signal so I then left the car park.

A couple of weeks later I received a PCN through the post. I assume it's all automated so I appealed it with my reasons thinking that would sort it but no, they rejected my appeal stating the terms for parking are on a sign in the car park and then proceeded to include a photo of that sign in the rejection letter.

That photo was taken in daylight whereas I tried parking after dark and they haven't installed any lighting in the car park so I wasn't willing to stumble around with a torch especially as I have a disability.

Not to mention that even if I could see the sign it wouldn't have meant I'd be able to download the app as like I mentioned I had poor mobile signal.

A horrible, greedy company with absolutely no willingness to accept that they are in the wrong.

Do yourself a favour and park literally anywhere else instead of giving money to this awful company.

Appeal rejection didn't match the reson for the appeal!

Just paid a fine due to the appeal being rejected. I can appeal again but then have to pay £100 not £60 (so no confidence that the second appeal will be worth bothering with). I was a few minutes late returning and then couldn't access my car. I waited for an elderly couple who parked next to me and were taking time to leave the car as the lady was disabled. As I was late (my fault) I went to pay for a further 2 hours even though I was leaving. The card transaction went through but then issued a payment reversal ticket. no idea why or what that was so I phoned Euro Car Parks from the car...on for ages only to get through to no one!.left the car park and just outside the entrance tried again and then emailed to explain that a big chunk of my overstay was trying to pay and also on hold and autoresponse trying to contact them and and asked them to please not issue a fine. I suggested they could check the CCTV (they have cameras all over the car park so this seemed like a reasonable request) and they would have seen me standing waiting and then in front of the very very slow car park machine for ages. Anyway as expected the appeal rejection did not refer to any of that, should have saved myself some time and just paid up...I will avoid car parks operated by this company in future.

Shocking

I would give them zero if I could, the entire company is set up to con people and make money through disproportionate fining and confusing parking instructions. My question is, how are they legally allowed to operate? The legal parking regulations are not fit for purpose and should be reviewed, so that Euro Car Parks and others are not allowed to operate in this manner.

being fined for no reason

My father went to Weatherspoon for a quick breakfast, during which he parked his car in its complimentary car park. Days later, he received fine ticket, claiming the park belongs to private property and he has no authority to enter that area. He tried to contact the company and explain the situation, but unfortunately with no luck. Had to 120 for bill that he was not responsible for. Absolutely terrible experience. 0/10
