Expensive

I took out €20 but it cost me £24.84. €20 euros is about £17. This was in a hotel in Spain. I've been caught out at British airports when withdrawing cash in foreign currency, when will I learn.

Charged 13% ATM Fee in Egypt Without Clear Disclosure

I used a Euronet ATM in Luxor, Egypt on 30 June 2025 and was charged a 310 EGP fee (~13%)—with no clear disclosure or consent. As a tourist, I felt rushed and unsafe due to people nearby, and the interface did not clearly present the fee before completing the transaction.

I contacted Euronet (Case ID 42938 – Egypt) and was told to speak to my bank. My bank (Revolut) are engaging on the dispute but have also noted Euronet's responsibility on this issue. Or lack thereof!

I’ve now filed a formal complaint with Revolut and will escalate to the Financial Ombudsman and MasterCard soon. Euronet has some time to deal with this issue if it chooses to.

This kind of fee structure—especially when not transparently disclosed—is predatory. Avoid Euronet ATMs, especially when traveling abroad.

This is shocking behavior in this day and age especially from a regulated financial company.

I absolutely agree"it's a SCAM"

I absolutely agree with reviewers who say euronet are SCAMMERS AND FRAUDSTERS!!!
I Pressed button to proceed WITHOUT exchange conversion but they did it anyway!!!
They charged 15% YES FIFTEEN PERCENT IN THE RATE!!!!!!
I have used atm's all over the world and have never had a problem until Euronet scammed me!!
DO NOT USE EURONET unless you enjoy having money stolen from your account.
THIS IS THEFT!
EURONET ARE SCAMMERS
This is why all reviews are one star and if minus stars were available that's all euronet would get!!
I complained to this company and they told me that I "pressed the accept button". I DID NOT!
I have used ATM's hundreds of times and NEVER pressed the wrong button.
Also, even if I did make this first in a lifetime mistake, the company add insult to injury by saying that "they constantly check their exchange rates against the competition so as to (YOU CAN LAUGH HERE!) ENSURE that their rates are competitive!
You couldn't make it up!
A 15 percent charge, in their opinion, is competitive.
If it wasn't so financially painful it would be a joke.
Remember, tell ALL your friends, acquaintances, and anyone you think is going to use one of their ATMs NOT TO!
I intend to spend the rest of my life telling as many people as possible about this RIP OFF company.

Never use their ATM!

It’s absolutely scam. Worldwide scam. I just cannot understand why their atm is legal in any country of the world. Never use them or you will lost up to 40% of your money.

Euronet ATM is an absolute ripoff

Euronet ATM is an absolute ripoff. The exchangerate they offer is criminal. I was in Marbella Spain, bad enough, but now I’m in Bulgaria and it’s much worse. Unfortunately I did not get a receipt this time around as proof but next time I will with just a small amount for reporting purposes.

Just been ripped off in Porto

Just been ripped off in Porto in Portugal withdrawing Euro from a UK bank account using a Euronet ATM machine. I didn’t know it was dodgy, and didn’t check the exchange rate properly, only to find I received 20% less in Euros than I should have using a bank ATM. A full 20% “stolen” in charges and a terrible exchange rate. What can be done? Nothing. Will just avoid Euronet in the future and check the exchange rate first before withdrawing money from any ATM.

Scam, avoid

At Rome Airport. I chose to decline the conversion, but the rip-off Euronet booked for the transaction, EVEN though I declined. So I had to contact my bank to start a complaint case that takes up to 90! days.
Avoid at any costs

AVOID EURONET

FIRST, THEY REQUIRE YOUR PIN NUMBER : that is illegal. The pin number has to be asked once all details of the transaction have been completed. By submitting
the pin number first, the ATM can then apply any rule they want to the fee and exchange rate .
Then after choosing desired amount the screen will quickly show a high usage fee (E4,95) followed by the transaction amount with a very unfavorable exchange rate.
At that stage, it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the transaction: the money comes out and NO RECEIPT
And of course, customer service has been well trained to discourage any caller. Bad faith is their rule. This happened in France.

Avoid

Avoid! Not only are the fees a complete ripoff, but when you realize how you're about to get robbed and hit Decline, it completes the transaction anyway.

These ATMs in Prague are to be avoided…

These ATMs in Prague are to be avoided at all costs due to high fees and unfavorable exchange rates, as well as the illegal installation of ATMs into the facades of historical buildings and heritage sites without permission, sometimes causing damage, at times irreversible, to these facades.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about our service. Let us get into the points you make:

When it comes to the currency conversion service, clients always have three options to choose from:

1. The exchange rate offered by the ATM (displayed on screen), or
2. The conversion rate offered by their bank (which will be revealed at a later date on the customer's bank statement) ,or
3. Cancel the transaction all together without any cost.

Regarding the preservation of historical buildings, please note that all ATM installation respect national heritage and abide to the applicable law and regulations.

Will force their unfair conversion rate on you

Withdrew €400 euros from a machine in France. The screen gives you their inflated conversion rates with the options "DECLINE CONVERSION" or "ACCEPT CONVERSION". I selected decline. The next screen then gives you the option to be charged in your home currency (GBP for me) at the same conversion rate, or the ATM currency (Euros in this case). Except the buttons do not align with the options on screen, to try and deceive you into their conversion option. Euros was the second option, so I pressed the second button, but I was still charged in GBP with their conversion at a cost of £50, despite explicitly declining this on the previous screen and attempting to select Euros on the final screen. Customer support just call you stupid.

A scam

A scam
I was asked if I would like to use their conversion (a markup of 15%) but they that no normal person would do that so they ask again but with a different phrasing
This is how maffias operate and Im sure there is a reason why they only “allow) their ATMs in many places…
Simply put this is not a serious company and they should not be allowed frankly
