Strongly advise against it, total scammers.
These guys offer you their insurance at an insane price, and if you refuse it, they'll charge you an exorbitant amount for old damages or natural wear and tear — even if you have photos and videos showing the car's condition before you rented it.

I was very satisfied with my experience renting a car from Expedicar in Bucharest. The process was smooth and efficient from start to finish. The car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as advertised. The staff was friendly and professional, making pick-up and drop-off quick and hassle-free. Their pricing was transparent with no hidden fees, and they were very accommodating with any questions or requests I had. I highly recommend Expedicar for anyone looking for a reliable car rental service in Bucharest!

The rental process with this company was straightforward at first, and I found the initial online price to be very reasonable. However, when I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was surprised to be offered additional insurance, even though I had already selected and paid for full coverage online. The sales agents seemed to pressure customers into purchasing this extra insurance, creating confusion around what was actually covered...

It's helpful to thoroughly read your initial rental agreement to understand what's included and avoid duplicating insurance coverage. This could save you from unexpected expenses and ensure a smooth rental experience.

I ended up paying more than double what I initially booked online.

Absolute disaster.

This company offers cars slightly cheaper than the market price. Their business model is to sell you the full insurance during pickup, which costs more than the rent itself. With this increased price their "offer" is a lousy deal.

If you don't buy the insurance, they'll find another way to get more money from you. As many users pointed out, they'll "find" damage on the car you're returning and assign an arbitrary $ value to it. The "damage" in my case was so tiny that even my camera didn't capture it during pick up AND after return. Their report doesn't include most of the tiny scratches on the car, with the sole purpose to "find" them and charge you for damaging the vehicle. The scenario is super simple: they just "find" every little scratch on the car. If it's on your photos - ok, they'll look for more. Eventually there'll be a point where your camera didn't capture a tiny thing that according to them costs thousands to repair.

Taking a ton of pictures and videos doesn't always help, and honestly the effort isn't worth it - just get a car from a better place

The company offer extremely cheap prices to attract potential customers and scam them in a legal way. The positive reviews are either made up or by customer who chose to buy their insurance. I rented a car for 6€/day. Clearly extremely cheap. The agency brought the car to the airport. At the time of pick up the guy offered a comprehensive insurance for 80€/day which is quiet expensive and clearly would made upp for their loss in offering extremely low prices. I declined the offer because I already had an insurance from my home country. The agent required 1600€ for deposit which I agreed to and presented a credit card however the agent refused the card and requested a card with a 3D printed letters and numbers (why? What is the logic behind this request? No logic answered the agent) probably it was a way to force me to buy their insurance if I hadn't what he requested. Luckily I had another credit card with 3D printed letters which was accepted.
At the time of returning the car, the agency requested that car must be returned to their office which is about 15 minutes drive from the airport because I was returning it before the stipulated returning time on the contract otherwise I had to wait until the stipulated time was reached which wasn't possible because of flight time. He wrote it in a rude way. They also refused to offer a shuttle back to the airport.
Upon inspection of car the inspector tried really really hard to find something to fine me for. I filmed the entire car at the time of pick up. I showed the inspector most of the scratches he pointed to in the videos captured by me at the time of pick up however it was a sunny day hence it wasn't easy to visualise everything with the lens of the camera. The inspector point to a scratch on the roof of the car!!!!! Which I didn't film at the time of pickup. I only drove on the highway from Bucharest to Brașov and wonder how on earth would I scratch the roof of the car?
The inspector also pointed to a scratch on back of the right mirror which actually wasn't a scratch, just an old paint which wasn't painted evenly and I couldn't visualise that on the video because of the shade and the color of the car.
Initially I refused to sign the protocol of returning but the agent threatened me of not giving back the entire deposit. Because I had less than 70 minutes to the departure of my flight I signed the protocol forcibly to be able to claim back the money from my insurance company.
Even after returning the car and leaving their office they will send you an email with additional damages found.

This is without doubt the worst car rental experience I have ever had, in 35 years of renting all over the world.

They are scammers.

High pressure at time of pick up to accept a costly additional insurance package. I declined as my credit card provides rental car insurance. I was told that if I declined the hefty additional cost, I would have to return the car washed outside and cleaned inside. This is the first time that I have ever had to do this anywhere in the world, but the extra cost of washing and valeting was still much less than the cost they wanted for the insurance.
When returning the car, I took it to a nearby garage and had it valeted - fully cleaned inside and out (which took about 45 minutes and therefore added significantly to the inconvenience of the return process).
Two of the rental company staff then gave the car the most detailed inspection I have ever experienced with a rental return, and managed "to find" (probably to plant) a small, thin scratch of about 6cm on the front bumper. I am certain that this did not occur during the rental as it is the sort of scratch which could not have been caused by another car while parked, and I know I did not contact any branch or similar while driving it.
As the minuscule scratch was not listed on the original check out papers, i was told there would be a EUR 320 charge. After short investigation, the cost to respray the entire bumper locally in Bucharest would be around EUR60, and a full respray would not be needed for a tiny scratch like this. This is an extortionate price and totally unjustified- in other words, theft.
The forensic inspection which was done on return, unlike any other car rental I have ever experienced, leads me to conclude that the charge for "damage" is just another way to profit from the rental.

This company will be reported for fraud.

Scam. Be warned.

After confirming a digital copy of an international drivers license was sufficient via WhatsApp when I arrived this meant I needed to pay an added $200 euro. Additionally, no one told us the rental could not be taken into another country: that added $300 euro. The best part however was the gas measure was broken and fixed on 8th a tank. We filled the car and could even check how many km the tank could take on (it read 480, obviously a full tanks' worth). I showed the guy a time stamped image of the gauge showing 8th a tank at time of rental. They Still said it was not full. I am going to fight the charges via amex. But do not use!!! Scam artists and shame downs await you.

This time i rented a Mercedes Benz GLC, year was 2024, it had only 8000km, brand new... Iulian helped me with the reservation, I was a returning customer last time I rented a skoda for a Business trip and this time I got a luxury car for my vacation, car were always clean and I can only rate 10/10 the service, I recommend this rental company.
