Some experiences shown are not available

I don't think you should be showing experiences that are no longer available as options. I was looking at spa days and you had a lot of the Champneys on there but when you go to book it says it is not available. Why don't you remove until they are available again? I have booked another spa day which is on the 24th August at a different hotel.

Voucher code didn't work

Voucher code didn't work. I asked for a refund which they said no, due to the fact the voucher had been redeemed, I had to take it up with the site I tried to redeem the code on. (i bought the code on experience days, and tried to redeem on udrivecars).
They said they are looking into it and will be in touch... it's been about a month now and heard nothing. Waste of time bad experience.

Experience Days voucher

I was gifted an Experience Days voucher for a massage for my 40th in August 2022. It's now nearly a year later and I've still not had a massage.

Firstly it took weeks to arrive apparently due to the Royal Mail strike of a couple days. So the next day delivery my friend paid for wasn't an option.

Whilst waiting I attempted to redeem the voucher as instructed by EDs. This didn't work.

When the voucher arrived I attempted to book with the company and was told they "don't work with ED and hadn't in 2 years". The person then hung up.

So with my voucher now already redeemed and the company it was for not playing ball, I contacted ED again who told me that this wasn't the case....

Over the last 9-10 months I've been gaslit by both companies who apparently don't have a great relationship and neither intend to resolve.

I called last week and was told in no uncertain terms that vibroSuite bham doesn't have an active portal to process ED vouchers.

Positively my friend was refunded for this mess. ED only has 2 options for a massage in the Midlands with one option being a mobile massage in your own home. Yikes for lots of reasons.

Why ED cannot resolve the relationship with this supplier I don't know but the option should be removed from their site until it is.

I'll see if the voucher can still be used for someone else but I really don't want any dealings with this company ever again. They get 2 stars for the refund

Easy to buy, hard to book :/

Purchasing the experience was nice and easy... but contacting the centre that run that specific experience has been a nightmare. So, while I have an experience bought, I cannot book it. Nobody answers the phones at Ultimate Rally office (Harrogate) and no email reply for a week now :(

Frustrating

no availability so had to pay extra. Booking arrangements with the venue were incorrect on website. Totally frustrating process.
I have now received a reply from experience days which says I enquired about a date which was available but did not take it up. This is totally false, the date I required about was not available but I was offered the week after when I am not available which is why I did not take it up. I do not find making false claims is particularly helpful

The voucher was purchased in Sept 2022 and there was plenty of availability in the last year. An extension was only required because the voucher was redeemed nine months into the validity period. You also enquired in May about a date in July (which was available) but then waited three weeks to reply, by which time the date had filled.
- I'm a little confused about your response. You claim that you inquired about a date which wasn't available, and we gave you another option (this part is true). You then claim you weren't available for that alternate date (presumably also true). But then you also claim our reply that you didn't take up a date we offered is 'totally false'. Which claim is false? That you weren't available for the date we offered? Or that we didn't offer it in the first place? It can't be both.

It’s really simple

It’s really simple. Stop asking for feedback. We all get inundated with surveys and requests for feedback. Do a good job and people will come back again and again. Do a good job. Period

Not customer friendly

I get you have a business to run but you really should provide some flexibility for customers with exceptional circumstances.

These unused vouchers go straight to your bottom line but leave a bitter taste in customers mouths.

Potential customers - don't book here if you need flexibility.

Worth note the replies were prompt and fairly polite

Disappointing choice!

The experience we were gifted, a visit to Whipsnade was discontinued even after Covid with nothing remotely similar available. Other experiences like walking tours or making candles are just rubbish. We have now exchanged for something else but would go to another experience provided in future.

The system to redeem your gift doesn't work

My husband was given an Experience Days voucher for his 70th birthday in June last year. However, we have not been able to use it because the (very prescriptive) website does not recognise the voucher number. I have now had to pay an extra £20 to extend it until June next year, by which time I hope someone (a real person) will try and respond postively to my emails to explain why it isn't working and what I can do about it!

Judy. We haven't received any emails or contact in regards to your voucher. As far as I can see you've had the voucher since June 20th 2022 and neither yourself or the purchaser has been in touch for help. Perhaps you can clarify exactly which website or email you've used to contact us?

We understand your frustration with this. However as soon as we found out we immediately offered you a refund which we have already processed and you seemed happy with. Had you purchased directly from the provider you would have lost out. I'm not sure there's any need for the complaint given that we provided you with the cover against this provider's closure.

Do not use this company … I REPEAT DO NOT use this company. We bought an experience to share for a special occasion. On the email receipt, to the person whose gift it was, it did not state there was an expiry date. They therefore didn’t realise that there was one! When asked if we could pay the extra to extend the voucher after being told it expired, it was a flat outright NO. No consideration was taken into why we couldn’t take the voucher up until this point which was personal. We weren’t even asking for our money back. Further emails from us to the company were ignored and the telephone number doesn’t even work!!! This is disgusting behaviour from any company and I hope you both as Managing Directors are proud of your company and the customer service you are training your staff. We were told we were unable to speak to you. I have never written a review like this before but will now take the time to spread the word to others so they don’t have the same very upsetting experience as us.

My lasting thought to you the customer is *** BEWARE *** as I cannot for one minute believe that a company can take your money in return for nothing, even if you are willing to pay the difference in price? 😢

So this is then the reply I get from the company on the 6 June 2023:

Let's see if I can accurately summarise your situation. You had a voucher purchased in May 2021. This expired in November 2022, after 18 months of validity. The voucher was not redeemed within that time despite being valid for the experience, or to be exchanged for anything else on the site. The expiry date was clearly presented on the voucher (which is why you keep referring to the 'email receipt' to make it look like our fault. You also quoted the expiry date (from the voucher) in your first email in March. Despite your emails, complaints, quoting Irish law, social media contact, Linkedin emails and online complaints, the voucher has now expired and cannot be used.

IN REPLY >>>>

So in reply YES the expiry date was on the voucher but NOT on the original email receipt you sent me to say that I was given an experience from you!!! I never opened the voucher as was not asked to do so and wouldn’t until I was ready to use it. At no point on that email did you say there was an expiry date and that I needed to open the voucher to see that was the case. THIS IS FRAUD and YES I have been desperately trying to talk to a human being on the phone or at the very least to someone on email, LinkedIn etc … to your Managing Directors to justify to me how you can take someones money in return for nothing?? I can’t get my head round this, even though we were willing to pay the difference? You have constantly ignored us … not great Customer service, and In fact to stress again you NEVER highlighted to me on the initial email with the experience I was given there was an Expiry date! EXPLAIN THAT?! … and yes apologies for quoting Irish Law, my mistake but think its about time the UK Government stood up to companies like yourselves.

REPLY

We'd be happy to explain that (...you NEVER highlighted to me on the initial email with the experience I was given there was an Expiry date)

We are a gift company. The vouchers we send out are gifts. These can either be sent via post in a physical package, or via email. In the case of this order it was sent via email. Since you were not the purchaser, it's up to the purchaser to send the voucher to your correct address or email address. The purchaser will also always receive a receipt (this is a separate email). The receipt does not show the expiry date of the voucher as it is simply a record of the sale. This is akin to expecting your receipt from Marks and Spencer to include washing instructions. The goods and the transaction are not the same thing.

Irrespective of this, your first email to us clearly shows that you had the voucher details and the expiry date. Your email is as follows:

"Hi I hope you can help. I was given a voucher for my 50th birthday from KAREN JOURNOUD and due to unforeseen circumstances I have been unable to redeem the voucher until now. I have just looked at it and it has expired (4 hours in a recording studio in East London). 178093-WOGFPQ I am very happy to pay the extra if there has been a price increase but would really like to take this experience as know it will really help with the journey and recovery I have already been on. Many Thanks for your help and understanding in advance. Lisa Black"

This was answered the same day within hours. We also replied to a further email that same day. In that email you claimed to have been ill, and that's the reason you didn't take the experience in the 18 months given. You didn't claim not to know the expiry date or make claims about the receipt.

You sent a third email that same day asking for the Managing Director's details, which was again answered within hours.

To claim we have constantly ignored you is simply not true. To claim you didn't know about an expiry date is not true. This review simply isn't accurate. This will be our final response via this or any other medium.

Great Jet Skiing!

Jetskiing in Brighton on bank holiday Monday, very good experience. Team are very friendly, well organised, very good safety briefing. Wet suits and changing facilities excellent. There was only one question whereby the waiver to be completed referred to solo riders to be over age 17 where as the Experience Days verbiage refers to age 16 and over. Check with the team before you book.
