whatever you do avoid this company like…
whatever you do avoid this company like the plague. They advertise as though they are local to you but insist on taking a £70 deposit which I stupidly paid. They advertise 24hr call out butI had to make 5 calls to see what time they were arriving as they just gave me an engineers mobile number and he never answered any calls.Got a local guy out within half an hour in the end and it turns out they were 40% more expensive than him. Spoke to them but,as expected they refused to refund the deposit. AVOID
My husband lost his car keys and we…
My husband lost his car keys and we needed the spare key coded so that we could use it as when the battery went flat a few months ago at the roadside the original key had to be recoded and never got round to doing the spare because of the cost.
we had lost key cover on insurance and insurance said to get it sorted and they would reimburse.
i rang extreme locks on Tuesday morning and asked if this was something they could do.
They said yes and we arranged for them to meet us at the car after work at 6.30pm.
They said it would be £150 which i thought was expensive but as insurance were paying agreed.
They said they needed £50 deposit to secure the appointment and i paid it over the phone but asked them to send a receipt via email as I needed it for the insurers. The woman said yes no problem and would email me the receipt.
when i checked my emails in my lunch hour there was no receipt so alarm bells did start to ring. I called them and was told they deal with all emails at 5pm.
Straight after i received two separate calls from 2 men asking if i had requested a call back i said no i was just calling about my receipt for the £50 and would see the engineer as planned at 6.30pm.
Got to the car at 6.20pm and waited. No sign of any engineer. I phoned 4 times got someone different every time and each person said they would contact engineer and call me back. i could hear children in the background every time.
no one ever called me back and by 7pm when i called again the woman said i had called at 5.15pm and cancelled."total lie"
and now she had sent the engineer somewhere else miles from me.
i didnt believe her so I drove home.
I rang again when i got home as again she didnt call me back and a man answered and i just said dont bother now just give me a refund and i will go elsewhere. he said the receptionist would sort it in the morning.
I contacted another local company who werent 24 hours but he could hear how upset I was and agreed to come out to me. Which he did immediately and after meeting me back at the car coded the key had us up and running within 5 mins at a cost of £75.00.
Rang them again about my refund man said we do them all on a friday which i didnt believe.I contacted my bank the same day they took the money so they know the circumstances and should get a charge back but as of yet nothing back from Extreme locks.
just wish id read the reviews before i phoned them because i wouldnt have given them the time of day.
Highly recommended
Highly recommended. My lock had broken and I couldn’t even close my door. They were out in less than an hour. Extremely polite and helpful. Thank you, you were a lifesaver

I used this company for an electrical fault on my sons car I told them several times that it was an immobiliser fault and were they sure the auto electrician could fix it or put a bypass on it . They said yes he definitely could and took a £70 fee. The electrician turned up and said it was an immobiliser fault and he could not do anything with it. I contacted Extreme Locks to get my money back and they refused please don't use this fraudulent company.

Snapped my key and was left stranded
Snapped my key and was left stranded! Had a quick look online, found this company, extreme locks. Gave them a call, told them my situation and gave them a £70 fee. The guy on the phone told me someone would be with me within an hour. About an hour later a locksmith turned up fixed my keys and I was on my way. Fantastic service, highly recommend!

Highly recommended company
Was really suprised with the bad reviews for this company. I locked myself out of my car with a baby at the services (baby brain) The weather was awful and this was the only company willing to help me. The auto locksmith was very friendly and even gave me £3.00 to get a coffee from the services as I'd locked my purse in. The price of locking yourself out can be costly but thats emergency services for you and I'd rather pay that than freeze with my little girl. Thank you so much it's good to see there are some companies out there that are still happy to help. Highly recommended

Terrible Terrible company
Terrible Terrible company If you are thinking of using them just stay well clear it will save you a lot of time and effort. Lack of communication lack of organisation lack of any business knowledge by the looks of it. Oh and customer service skills are appalling once you finally get through to the office (not that id call it that as this company seems to be being run from someones bedroom) you are spoken to in a very rude manor by whoever the bloke is on the other end. STEER CLEAR!! just want to save you all a lot of time and effort by not going through this feeble company

I locked my keys in my car on route to the airport and needed to catch a flight within 3 hours, i explained this to the receptionist on the phone and she went above and beyond to get an engineer out asap.
The engineer arrived within 30 minutes and got the job done within 20 minutes he was very efficient and saved the day for me as i would of lost a lot of money if i missed the flight.
Excellent service i would highly recommend.

Do not use find an independent locksmith because thats all theh do took 70quid off me fo nothing
Took them to court and won
Short version: they will subtract your job out to someone incompetent and deny all knowledge of it. You'll then have to sue them in the small claims court to get your money back (luckily an easy process).
Long version:
I made the mistake of hiring this company for a straight forward replacement of two locks on a rental property of mine. Without my knowing, they subcontracted the job out to someone else who, after trying to increase the price on the day, botched the very simple job. Unfortunately I wasn't onsite for the job.
After finding out there was a problem, I contacted Extreme Locks who l looked up the job on their system and gave me the details of the locksmith who had fitted the locks and told me to take up the job with them.
When I called Extreme Locks again to tell them that I had no confidence in the locksmith who originally came out and that they must organise someone else at their own expense, they denied ever having taken the job on.
Their story kept changing from one call to the next, with them willing to tell me anything to get out of their legal responsibility. One minute I was talking to Carl Martin the admin who would get a manager to call me back, the next day (after nobody called me back) I'm talking to the same person, but now he's a director (there's no Carl listed on Companies House records by this name, so either Carl is really Mike and doesn't exist or HMRC should probably look into their tax dealings as they are not correctly filling in the right forms).
This company tries to make out that they are really big and national, when they are most likely operating out of a bedroom, subcontracting the work out and making lots of money in the process.
After they refused to rectify the work, I called out a Master Locksmith Association certified locksmith after finding out about the professional body and he was surprised at how bad the original work was. I'd ordered 5 lever mortice locks, but didn't get that, instead getting a 2 lever mortice lock that would be fitted to a shed, not a house.
I filed a claim again Extreme Locks using the government Money Claim Online site, which took me under ten minutes to do. Extreme Locks continued to deny the job was anything to do with them, so we ended up in court where their defence seemed to strangely rely on the judge believing that this was all a set up between me and the locksmith who they'd subcontracted to con them out of money.
Needless to say that the judge didn't believe any of it. Considering how much this company lies, they really are bad at it. All I needed was a timeline of events and call records and the judge found in my favour, ordering Extreme Locks to pay me my money back and including court fees.
Save yourself all this hassle and get a real MLA certified locksmith instead.
The worst company in existence!
The worst company in existence.
My car keys were stolen over night so we rang them to replace the keys and change the locks. They took my debit card details THEN informed me that they had taken an £80 deposit.
Locksmith came to us and said that he cannot replace the locks and that the quoted price didn’t include that. We therefore had no work done.
Rang the company to get our deposit back but they said that because the engineer had been to us and could do the job requested (he couldnt) that we wouldn’t be getting a refund. So basically they are keeping the £80 for doing absolutely nothing other than making a phone call to a contractor.
Meanwhile, ourselves with one car stolen and another car without keys are stranded, whilst the contractor is out of pocket for his travel expenses as he was paid nothing.
The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and consistently lied about what had been said before hanging up on me and then refusing to answer call backs. She claimed that the company recorded calls but then said that she wouldn’t listen to the recording for “a few days”, before then revealing that she works from home (something doesn’t quite add up here).
When I asked for the address of the company, she said she did not know it. She refused to look it up.
She said that the contractor had rang after the visit and reeled off a things that he said, but when we rang the contractor to confirm he said that he had not been in touch with them. When he was here, he said they were the worst company he had ever been given work through.
Luckily I know we will eventually get the money back through the banks, financial obudsman or courts but it has just added unnecessary stress to an already stressful situation.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
DO NOT use this company.
DO NOT use this company.. complete cowboys!!!! I phoned to book them on Thursday afternoon, paid £50 and was told to wait for an 'engineer' to get in touch, which one did. However, nobody arrived that night, no phone call either and the engineer ignored me!! I then chased the next day.. got robbed off, chased again, was put in touch with another engineer who said he would come that day (Friday). This did not happen, waited until the Monday for the engineer to come for 20 mins, tell me my door was broken and charge me £75!!! I didn't have cash so I couldn't pay I said I'd transfer the money, I then phoned the office to complain, was told someone would ring me back. They didn't, I rang again the next day, was told again someone would ring me back... guess what... they still haven't - A WEEK LATER!!! The 'engineer' rang me today threatening me to come round so felt forced to pay... all in all £120 for a 20 min appointment for them to tell me what I rang up originally for!!!! COWBOYS
