Found this company whilst searching on line for fabric stockists near me and thought it worth asking for a sample. It came, and was exactly what I was looking for, so placed my order. Delivery was excellent too. Absolutely delighted.

I suspect we are among the most qualified to critique this company as we ordered one pair of custom ceiling-to-floor curtains, plus 35m of another fabric for making locally. Fabric was MUCH cheaper than our local supplier could get (even wholesale), immediately saving several hundred £s, and the custom-made curtains are stunning. With hindsight, we should have given our whole order to FD, as it would have saved us even more (making of the curtains with FD was much more economical too), but – having started with a local source – we had to stick with her for the bulk of the work. Well done, Fabric Direct - we will recommend to all our friends :-)

I firstly ordered a sample which arrived promptly. Then I ordered 10m of fabric which arrived within a few days. It was a fantastic price, very carefully wrapped and contained a handwritten thank you note. Superb service.

Great service on the delivery, and a fabulous price. but unfortunately the fabric cutting needs much better attention.
As I make clothing/quilts the cut needs to be on a true grain cut. Some of the pieces have been 'chopped' with scissors at the ordered length, but when 'squaring up' to the selvedge, lost some length of my material, leaving me short for my project. I understand that a cm or 2 could be lost, but ALL of my cuts were off grain, losing many cm's of material.

Found just the material I needed to recover dining chair seats. I ordered a sample to be sure of the colours. Didn't have to order too much material. Came really quickly and was perfect for the job.

The second time I have used this company. Both times the fabrics have been of excellent quality and as described. The delivery has been on time and the fabric is perfect condition. Prices are excellent.

I ordered a custom single curtain to cover a window space of 150cm. This was to go on a curtain pole that I hadn't mounted yet so when they asked the length of the pole I said I didn't know. They said this wasn't normal but were happy to proceed. I was sent the paperwork confirming I wanted a finished with of 150cm to which I said yes. What they sent was some very nicely made single curtain 150cm wide. As such when you put the eyelets through the pole the width of the curtain wasn't wide enough to fully cover the window. It needed to be about a third wider. So in essence there was a miscommunication between what I thought a finished width was and what they thought a finished width was. At no point did anyone say to me that the curtains would need to be wider than the size of the window. This is the crux if the issue. When I called looking to resolved the issue I was firmly told I had agreed to the size and they would not fix it as it would cost more to add the extra fabric than it would to make new ones. I was told the only thing I could do is through away my brand ew 270 pound curtains and order new ones. As you can imagine I was extremely disappointed. I insisted that adding an extra half width could not possibly cost more than the cost of the curtains and insisted they find me a solution. Eventually after pushing hard they offered to add 75cm extra for 180 pounds. I simply couldn't afford to spend this much money on a singe curtain. I was left with no choice but suggest they sell me the just the fabric and I will some how find a way add the extra fabric myself. They sold me the fabric for around 80 pound and refused to give any discount or good will gesture. Its truly been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. For them to completely refuse to help me until I begged them to find some kind or resolution was disgusting. They didn't seem to understand I simply couldn't though away almost 300 pounds. I also want to be clear that I bare part of the responsibility for the mistake. I did say the number 150cm finished width and signed off on it. But never having bought curtains before I was expecting to be guided by this company and for someone to at least say do you know curtains need to be double the width of space you want they to cover. How was I to know? Then to refuse to find a fair solution. What would have been fair as there was blame on both sides was for me to buy the extra fabric I needed and for them to correct sew it on for no extra charge. Now the only option I can afford is to buy the fabric and make the rest of the curtains myself. So be warned if there is any misunderstanding you are well and truly on your own.

Spoke to Katie before placing my order and she double checked sizes and calculated that i needed 25.5 metres of fabric, nothing was too much trouble for her and very friendly. Will recomment to all my friends

This company deserves 5 stars for it's level of service and efficiency. My order arrived exactly when expected and it was beautifully packaged. Ordering was efficient and trouble free. Would definitely deal with this company again.

I am giving this 5 stars, simply because that is the level of service I received. I ordered 6m of the fabric and I was amazed to receive it within 48hrs of placing my order. It arrived rolled and very well packaged. The price and quality of material were excellent. Would I purchase from this supplier again? Yes most definitely and I am very happy to recommend and give this excellent review!
