Great experience

Disappointing Decline in Quality at Fallon & Byrne

As a long-time regular customer, it is with great regret that I write this review. I have always turned to Fallon & Byrne for products I simply couldn't find elsewhere—specifically high-quality French cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet specialty goods.

However, over the past several months, I have noticed a sharp decline in quality while prices remain extremely high. It is unacceptable to market products as "high-end" or "luxury" when the freshness is so clearly lacking.

My recent experiences have been particularly poor:

Quality Issues: I recently purchased a Reblochon that was covered in improper mold and a Saint-Félicien where the ripening (affinage) was highly questionable.
Value for Money: It feels as though quality is being sacrificed to maintain high profit margins. If I am paying premium prices, I expect premium freshness.
Lack of Expertise: While the staff is very friendly and pleasant, they clearly lack the specialized knowledge and training required to handle and advise on such delicate, fine products.
At this point, the brand needs to decide on its identity. You cannot charge luxury prices for mediocre, or worse, spoiled products. If the quality continues to slip, it would be more honest to operate as a discounter where the price-to-quality ratio is at least transparent. Until major changes are made, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Exceptional service and food products

I wouldn't go anywhere else for our yearly hampers or catering needs for the company I work for.
Andres Suarez, the Fallon & Byrne sales manager, has looked after us for years. He and his team are exceptional at what they do.
Their hampers and food are just a step above anything else. They are wonderfully presented, always delivered on time and offer amazing value for such high-end products. They always have a wow factor when they arrive.
Thank you again, Andres, for making us look good and for making Christmas extra special for the team.
See you in 2026 for more of this amazing service!

Another great experience at Fallon & Byrne

Honestly, this place just keeps getting better.
We were there for our office Christmas party (not our first rodeo) and the experience was even better than last year.

I’m not sure how they manage to deliver such great food and service at one of the busiest times of the year but they just do!

It's basically fine dining without the stuffiness.

The staff are super sound and well trained. There's lots of pride in what they do and it really shows.

Fair play to all the team!

Everything about the shopping…

Everything about the shopping experience was positive, from browsing to checkout. Everything was flawless and the delivery if the hamper was timely and efficient. The hamper itself is amazingly beautiful. Top quality products, displayed in a beautiful gift box. I highly recommend this company and their products. A very happy customer 🙂

Friday Lunch of Dreams

We went to the upstairs dining room for lunch the other day. Menu choice and food were excellent. The ambiance of the restaurant is really buzzy. Staff were all lovely and very attentive. We will definitely be back soon again.

Cheese Hamper

I ordered the Cheese Hamper for my Uncles 90th Birthday - he loves his cheese. Laura in Customer Service was great. She confirmed it was due on his birthday and would let me know when it was delivered which I thought was above and beyond. She was so helpful. It arrived on his Birthday as promised and he loved it saying he felt very spoilt! Thank you all so much such a great company who I would recommend to anyone.

Best Gourmet Food Shop in Ireland
