Fdg Group Reviews 

Short version: We highly recommend the FDG group for all your solar and battery installation needs. FDG group also provide excellent after-care and actively follow up issues to resolution.

Long version: April 2023 we had the below installed:
1. FoxESS hybrid inverter (H1-5-E) with 16 panels.
2. FoxESS batteries (ECS4300H-2).
3. Solis S5 1kW mini inverter with 4 panels.
4. Tigo optimisers due to shading across all roof spaces at different time of the day.

The install was done to a high standard, promptly and FDG ensured that our slightly complex setup (due to a long cable run) performed well. They provided the required MSC and G99 paperwork as soon as it became available (the DNO took sometime to respond in our case due to the high volume of applications at the time).

Our net energy costs have been reduced to about £25 to £30 per month (including that we will be charging the battery with cheap rate energy during the winter). With roughly 4.5MWH of generation per year.

We are very pleased with the install.

Recently the Solis mini inverter developed an intermittent fault and FDG group have come out to check the system and decided to replace that 1kW mini inverter with a 2kW version all under warranty and without fuss.

Very happy with the experience we received. Just had an extra 4 solar panels fitted to our original system that were also fitted with FDG. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to invest in Solar.

The team from Fdg group were very good at communicating throughout, including when the job had to be rescheduled because of bad weather.
Our two workers arrived promptly and again explained what the solar panel cleaning job entailed.
Our panels are 12 years old and this is the first time they have been cleaned. There was a build up of dirt, bird poo and algae, so the job took longer than they had anticipated.
Despite this they persisted and succeeded in cleaning it all off, leaving a gleaming clean finish.
Excellent result and the output shows immediate improvement.
It was a pleasure dealing with the firm.

FDG's initial estimate was based on their miscalculation of heat losses. The original estimate was accepted and afterwards considerably increased to take account of the actual heat losses. Following the main installation FDG were insistent that work be paid in full despite the installation not being operable for a further 5 weeks. ( only following my direct contact with the manufacturer was the installation capable of producing heat). The heat exchange unit is now considerably out of level. The incorrect connections were made causing water overflow leakage - which persisted despite FDG services. Incorrect pipework to buffer unit required remedial work. Despite having had 2 annual services no report or invoice have been forthcoming.

Couldn’t be happier with my solar and battery install. Installation team came out quickly and fitted my system within 2 weeks with no issues. They were polite, left no mess and even offered me a free 1 year maintenance package by successful referral. I highly recommend Ste and his team.

I have had fdg just change 7 rads out and put 5 rads in and 2 towel rads fitted and all 8mm micro pipe removed and fitted 15mm copper pipe right through the bungalow for all the heating system in 3 days by john the plumber who is very good at is job and he got no leaks at all he did a very good job and he serviced the heatpump at the same time all i can say is excellent job done by fdg and john 5 stars

FDG group installed a solar and battery setup at my properly just under a year ago. Unfortunately in the recent winter storms the bird protection was damaged, but FDG kindly came and fixed it free of charge with no hassle. Appreciate the help and very pleased with the after service - which in my opinion is the main judge of such a company.

We’ve had a good experience with FDG over the last year. They installed a heat pump, solar panel and battery into our 7 year old house. I’ve always found them to be responsive over the phone and helpful if we’ve had any issues.
They weren’t the cheapest, or the most expensive but we definitely got good value for our money. Steve listened to what we wanted and came up with a great package.
The installation was smooth and the guys were polite, reliable and LGBT friendly. Almost a year on, we’re very pleased with how the system has performed.
No system is perfect and there were minor issues with noise from a water cylinder, the heating controller not responding and another to do with WiFi connection that FDG actually phoned us about and asked if they could come over to fix! All issues have been dealt with each time, and with the reassurance that I can phone them back if it happens again. Overall a great local company.

After my initial enquiry to FDG regarding adding a battery system to my existing solar, via email, I received a prompt call to discuss my requirements. This lead to an initial site visit for the engineer to check my current solar setup. During the visit Steve was able to answer any questions my wife and I had and offered a solution that no other company had for us to consider. FDG are paperless so quotes and contract were all received via email, speeding up the process.
Installation day arrived and the 2 guys were brilliant. They were neat and tidy and cleared up after themselves, after they left you would not have known they had been!
From initial contact through to the finished installation I would highly recommend FDG Group to anyone.

I got a SolarEdge Solar PV system and a Zappi smart EV charger and so far everything very good! Chris and Steve are very nice. When I get my SRG tarrif I get money for collecting extra sunshine :D

Each of the team members involved in the process was great - from the explanations about the pros and cons of different models, to the fitters themselves, to the customer support staff going above and beyond to assist. No complaints!

Our ASHP system has repeatedly dropped pressure over the past 3 years. The FDG team have now taken some remeidal steps. I am hopeful that the problem has been solved. Thank you.

I was then contacted by a member of staff and then was askednto delite my review. I was promised the moon if I would do this. I did relent and delite my first review and as I suspected, none of the prmiseswere fulfilled. Just too good to be true. So I still have no heat, which has not been working properly since Octber ( this is not entirely fdg's fault after my requests were not satisfactorily responded too, so I went to a different company. But I still feel that the level of customer service is very poor, their service prices are a third higher than most of other companies and now I can add
an apparent lack of intergrity and veracity to my list of criticisms. Update! FDG very kindlyofferred to try to repair my air pump heating system at no charge to me, but were unable to find the problem so they called the Valliant experts to find out the problem
which was finally located and fixed. Although, I still am not happy with some FDG's policies, I am most grateful to them for helping me be warm again.

I had solar and Air Source Heat Pump install between Feb-Sept 2023. Both installs went extremely well and fast from start to finish, no waiting for weeks for surveys etc. The solar has worked without issue since installation and all paperwork came through without issue. The few issues I have had with the Heat Pump were acted upon immediately, with Jon being particularly helpful over whatsapp at any time of day or week. I am extremely happy with the service I have and am receiving.

I’ve recently used FDG to fit 16 solar panels on my garage roof. Cannot speak highly enough of the service and job completed. Everyone in the team were extremely helpful and acted quickly when I made my enquiry.

It's nearly two years now since having a heat pump, ancillaries and all radiators fitted to a 2-bed semi. Always nice and cosy. Only had one problem with the system but quickly and easily sorted by FDG.

The installation was complex as the house is a 4 bedroom turn of the century large Victorian house. The heap pump replaced a gas combi boiler system. The installation included a split system including a new water tank and a double height unit outside and 8 triple radiators. The company also linked the existing solar panels to help heat tank water. The installation was neat and the site left tidy. FDG came back to successfully fix some small teething problems. Happy to recommend.

Had our solar panels installed last year.
Had a few issues but we have finally got it all sorted, can’t thank Daryl enough for helping us, he got the problem sorted quickly and efficiently. You’re a credit to the company.

Was sceptical at first although I am overjoyed that I went with this company. The Solar PV unit purchased is excellent quality compared to others on the market.
Further from that we've actually saved around 65-70% on our electric bill annually.
Great customer service, great team.
Will invest in more products in due course
