Found first mortgage a few months ago from an online search, great to have an initial face to face with Geo to talk through our options and get a decision in principal to be able to start looking at properties within a set price range. Following up via zoom and email after that was helpful to fit around work.Geo found us a good mortgage well within budget and gave us clear email instructions as to what we needed to gather for the mortgage application, she was very accommodating to make amendments when requested. Yvonne has kept us up to date via email and phone and responds promptly to any questions we have had, she is also clear in her emails and cc's us in correspondence with other agencies. This has been a really useful service as a first time buyer as I was clueless about what we needed to do! It is great that this is a free service for the customer!

Ive used First mortgage for years. They've done everything from new mortgages to remortgages and a number of insurance policies.

They take all of the hassle out of what can be a stressful process. They're readily available including weekends and evenings and are efficient with responses.

I'll be using them the rest of my days and would recommend them to everyone.

Paul and David helped us with our new mortgage for our home move. Process was very straight forward and fuss free. Really handy to be able to upload documents online to save having to take physical copies.

Terrible experience. I am a young person and was hoping to find out about buyers schemes and mortgage rates, I was called first by a man whose name I can't remember to make a video call appointment - he was very helpful and understanding and didn't seem phased when I said I hadn't found a house yet and wasn't planning on getting a mortgage set up on the meeting. Then come to the video call where I first spoke to Neale. He told me something wasn't working on his end so we could only do a normal phone call, fine, then proceeded to be condescending and uninterested in the whole ordeal. Especially when I emphasised the fact that I wasn't 100% ready to buy there and then and wanted a few more months to get a bigger deposit. He clearly thought I was a waste of his time and any questions I has about schemes or new builds, he brushed off as "you don't need to worry about that yet" and all he cared about was finding out how much I could borrow. Yes, I do need to know that but I wanted to speak to an advisor for ADVICE and he has absolutely none to give. Oh, he was also incredibly unprofessional about personal details that had absolutely nothing to do with a house buying process (he doesn't need to know why a family member is in hospital??????). Finally, he said he would be in touch once he had a figure that I could potentially borrow, so off he went, meanwhile I had gotten absolutely nothing useful out of that 15 minute phone call. A day later he rang me back to tell me how much I could potentially borrow, again, absolutely no interest in the conversation whatsoever, his tone with me was awful, it was like he wanted me know he didn't give a f***. Anyway, he told me, then asked more questions about my company vehicle and how that works, I had to go to work so ended up messaging him the answers to his questions. That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything more from him. I am quite grateful for that to be fair though as this was the first place I had gone to for a conversation bout buying a first house and it completely put me off. If you didn't want to speak to me because you thought it wasn't worth your time, I would have rather you told me that instead of wasting mine. I think someone needs to have a word with Neale about the way he treats young inexperienced people in the market, and about personal matters do and don't matter when getting information. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.
