Am I a bloody charity case?

I wrote to them about my cancellation, saying I don't even have Fit for Free in my city (I moved in April). They demanded my BSN - I am registered in Amsterdam but don't live there. This is relatively normal for expats, with the whole "registration not allowed" thing.

They charge me for like 3 months, just because they are open, I am supposed to get my butt on public transport when the government says "avoid public transport unless NECESSARY" and I don't see why I should travel for an hour because of a gym, when I don't even go to work (home office). I am coughing and I am not even sure whether I have corona or not, but they want me to use their services AGAINST MY WILL, potentially risk other people's and mine wellbeing AGAINST MY WILL and if I don't comply I just pay for nothing? Thin air? Nice practice. I have disputed credit charges, and I am gonna get this resolved. A-holes.

Edit: I didn't get jack resolved. Nobody contacted me to this day either. I hope all your gyms burn to the ground, scammers.

unprofessional handling of cancellation

i had a yearly membership and did not even cancel my membership during Covid-19 outbreak in order to support businesses although i have never gone since the beginning of the year!
I have been trying to cancel my subscription during the last couple of months for 2 times via their website but received no response from them until today i was surprised by a letter to my address saying that i have to pay 59 eur for pending debts and cancellation costs within 14 days and if i fail to pay this i will be charged x eur + x% etc etc!
In the end i do not want to be a part of an unprofessional organization which does not even respond to a customer request sent via their website but prefer to send a mail like this.
I strongly recommend you not to subscribe Fit for Free.
For me Fit for Free seems they try to punish a customer who continued her membership during hard times of the sports club.

DO NOT EVER USE FIT FOR FREE!

Terrible service!!!!

On July 1st, 2020 I subscribed for ONE-YEAR plan with the possibility to cancel any time at the end of the month.

Now I want to cancel my subscription from October because I am leaving the country by the end of next month.

First of all, I cannot log in with my member number on your website which is completely ridiculous because I am logged in via the app on the phone.

Since July I’ve been paying MONTHLY €24.99

Today they informed me that it is I HAVE NOT a flexible subscription and I cannot cancel it because I pay monthly and my contract does not allow it.

I was completely shocked because the reason why I didn’t choose in July the cheapest plan of €19.99 was EXACTLY possibility to cancel it any time.

NOW I checked their website again and as I see that their PLANS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. They don’t even have any plan available for that amount which I pay (€24.99).

So as per one of the customer service reps, I understand that since the plans have been changed and I didn’t fall into the current plan of €28 or €32 euro you have for a 1-year subscription, I was AUTOMATICALLY mentioned in your system as for a contract with no cancel possibility!

ALSO, it is mentioned on their website still that 1-YEAR CONTRACTS CAN BE CANCELLED ANY TIME.

Now I am waiting for the call from them and DO NOT recommend this gym to anyone just because of this TERRIBLE customer service!

SCAM

SCAM - I was randomly charged 86 EUR by Fit for Free, despite my subscription being cancelled months ago.
They said that I withdrew my subscription cancellation(??) and that it is for undue payments for 3 months.
If this is the case, why did they not contact me after the first month payment declined??
Decent gym but scam withdrawals and terrible customer service. Avoid

Horrible Admin and Customer Service!

I have been charged for 2 years of someone elses membership, which FitForFree has admitted that these changes are not for my membership. However, they keep refusing to return my money and instead told me to ask the money from the other person. Why is dealing with the other person becoming my business? I should not even be in this whole equation - this is a payment issue between them and the other person. Just return my money!

I have been emailing and calling them since January to get my money back with no luck. They just keep bouncing my case from one customer survice to another and keep making up different stories (even accusations). Funny enough, my Dutch friend tried to help me and called them (thinking that sorting it in Dutch would be easier than English), and they told him that they can't speak to him because they're not sure that "I have authorised him to speak on my behalf". Yet, when it's 100% certain that I have never authorised them to charge my account for someone elses membership, they have no problem charging me anyway.

AVOID FIT FOR FREE !!!

Our whole group cancelled cancelled their subscription to the Fit for Free

We are a bunch of people working for a firm that has a branch in Amsterdam. We decided to get a subscription to the Fit For Free, with a whole group. We were open to recommending Fit For Free to our other colleagues and friends.... BUT: we won't, and we decided to leave the place.

The way they are handling the following tells us so much about what type of company this is:

The floor sauna at the looijersgracht has been broken for weeks now, going on months - and the company doesn’t seem to care. They just leave it broken, week after week, going on forever, making the sauna inaccessible. Same thing with the main toilet; it has been broken for ages, and they just won't have it repaired. It says 'defect' with a crappy written note on it.

So we decided to cancel our subscription to Fit For Free, and left the place, with the whole group. We will be joining another fitness. We will not be recommending this place to anyone, quite the opposite.

Don't go to Fit For Free, the company doesn't care about you.

Unreachable

I transferred my membership over to a friend on the 30th Sept at the Looiersgracht gym. I was told there would be no more charges to my bank account and that membership fees would now only be withdrawn from the new member from now on. On the 16th Oct, a month’s membership fee was withdrawn from my account. I called 0900 3483673733 on the day but was met with a 30min + wait time. As I work through the day, I couldn’t just wait on hold for that long. I sent an email that day as well (16th Oct) – I still have not received a response (that is 2 weeks to the day). I have tried calling on the 18th, 23rd and 25th Oct as well. Every time there was a 30min + wait time. On the 25th I even tried waiting it out and was on hold for 40min before I gave up. I went into the Looiersgracht gym on the evening of 28th Oct to see if they could help me. I was very unhelpfully and rudely told I had to come back to that specific gym between 9-5pm so he could call the same number I had been trying to call for the last two weeks. I explained due to work that was difficult for me (I work 9-5:30 and am a 30min cycle from the Looiersgracht location), and if there was any alternative to help resolve this. Let’s just say I was met with a very disappointing response to that question (just a thought - maybe you could have taken my details and followed this up for me through the day? Seeing as I am apparently still a paying customer).

I’m just hoping to have someone reach out at this point as I have no idea how to get in touch with the head office of this gym to discuss this issue. But in general, after this experience I wouldn’t recommend this gym.
