Fantastic customer service

This machine had better be worth the trouble

I'm prepared to initially give this item 5 stars, even though I've not even used it yet. I'm sure it will end up being everything I ever hoped for and more.

However, it's fair in this case that the company selling the product be rated too, which I usually don't do, since they have little to do with the functioning of the product. But if there ends up being a problem with it or I need some help with it, they will be my first port of call, so rate them I will.

5 stars go down to 3 stars since Fitshop arranged for this 'massive' item to be delivered kerbside by 1 man rather than the 2 man delivery. There is nowhere to make the choice on the Fitshop website when purchasing, other than the £200 option to have 2 men deliver it and build it, which I don't need.

I've bee told twice now that if I had gone into the store I would have been able to make that arrangement but why would I go into the store when the item isn't even in the store. Most items they sell . . . aren't in the store. They are only online. Even so It shouldn't make a difference where I am.

There is a 2 man delivery option to deliver to 'a ground floor room of your choice', but nobody made that arrangement with me. Surely an email wouldn't have been too much trouble (down to 2 stars for that poor customer service). To cut a long story short, the delivery company contacted me within a couple of days which was a surprise since I expected to have to wait the 7 to 10 days for the delivery I expected. I only found out accidentally on delivery day that some poor guy is going to be delivering this thing on his own.

Nothing I can do about it since it's already in the delivery company's possession. £70 I would have to pay Fitshop to cancel the delivery completely. Yes that's correct, £70 to NOT have it delivered ! (down to 1 star for that, since I feel it was their fault). And if I take delivery and send it back straight away, that will be completely at my own expense, which I'm sure would end up being more than £70 (so down to 0 stars now).

Someone by the name of Luke on the online chat was very polite and tried to be helpful but there was nothing he could realistically do to help (back up to 2 stars, well done Luke)

All of that said. Giving anything other than 1 star will be a waste of a rant, so 1 star it is.

Thanks Fitshop, for an injured back, a ruined morning and 9 wasted phone calls.

We would, however, like to clarify a few points regarding the delivery arrangements and your interactions with our team.

The treadmill you purchased was ordered through our website, where the delivery information clearly states that free standard delivery is a kerbside pallet delivery service. Due to the size and weight of this particular item, a standard two-man delivery service is not available. For customers who require the product to be brought into their home and assembled, we do offer a chargeable installation service which includes delivery to the room of choice and full installation.

When you contacted us via live chat, our colleague Luke attempted to assist by establishing which product your query related to and gathering the information needed to provide accurate advice. Unfortunately, this information was not provided during the conversation, which limited the guidance he was able to offer. Nevertheless, Luke remained polite and professional throughout and attempted to explore alternative options for you.

You mention being advised that different arrangements may have been possible through a store purchase. To clarify, this was not intended to suggest that the delivery method itself would have changed, but rather that delivery requirements and available services could have been discussed in more detail at the point of sale, including the installation service if a kerbside delivery was not suitable.

To address your comments regarding products being available online rather than in-store. As a specialist fitness retailer, we offer hundreds of products across our website, and it would not be practical to display every item within our showrooms. Our stores are designed to showcase a representative range of equipment while providing customers access to knowledgeable staff who can offer tailored advice, discuss delivery and installation options, and help identify the most suitable product for their requirements. While many products are ordered online, our showroom teams remain an excellent resource for customers who would like additional guidance before making a purchase.

We would also like to address the cancellation charge. The fee applies when goods are cancelled after they have already been dispatched and remain within our published delivery timescales. As the order has already incurred transportation and handling costs, the charge represents only a portion of the costs involved in returning the item to us.

While we appreciate that the available delivery options did not meet your expectations, we do not believe this reflects poor customer service. Our team provided the information available, responded to your enquiries professionally, and remained courteous throughout. We are sorry that the delivery method was not what you had hoped for, but the service provided was consistent with the information published at the time of purchase.

We hope that your treadmill meets your expectations and that you enjoy it for many years to come.

Fitshop is a SCAM

This company does not deserve 1- star.
I ordered for a treadmill on their website that cost almost £3000 from FITSHOP for more than 3 weeks. The product was never sent to me and the company refused to return my money. This company is a "SCAM", please keep away from them, except you are ready for the trouble I am facing now.

We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your experience and would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your order.

Your order was placed on 25th May and was dispatched to our third-party installation partner on 27th May. The goods were received by the installation team on 29th May, and we can provide proof of delivery if required. Our installation service standards, which are published at the time of purchase, allow up to 14 working days for installation to be arranged and completed.

We understand that waiting for your installation was frustrating, and on 8th June you contacted us to request cancellation of the order. At that point, the order was still within our published service timeframes and had already been dispatched to our installation partner, meaning a cancellation charge would apply in line with our terms and conditions.

We are aware that there appears to have been some confusion regarding the status of the goods and we apologise for any mixed messages you may have received. We have investigated this internally and can confirm that the installation team had received the goods. We also acknowledge that you were incorrectly advised that we would need to wait for the goods to be returned before processing a refund. This information was inaccurate, and we sincerely apologise for this misunderstanding.

A senior member of our team has since been in direct contact with you to resolve this matter. Unfortunately, because a PayPal dispute has now been raised, we are unable to process a refund while the dispute remains active. We have advised that if the dispute is closed, we can process the refund immediately. However, we fully understand your decision to keep the dispute open and, in that case, we must allow the PayPal process to reach its conclusion.

We take allegations of being a "scam" very seriously and respectfully disagree with this characterisation. We have remained in contact throughout, investigated your concerns, and continue to work towards a resolution.

Who do this company think they are

Who do this company think they are, the driver turns around in the van and doesn't visit my house, then never comes back. Then i get an email from fitshop saying the package is damaged and they are part refunding me. Avoid this at all costs.

After investigating the matter, we found that your order was returned to our warehouse by the courier due to damage sustained in transit. Unfortunately, the courier did not notify us that the delivery had failed for this reason, and the return was initially processed as an unwanted customer return. This resulted in you receiving incorrect information from us, for which we sincerely apologise.

We appreciate that from your perspective it appeared that the driver did not complete the delivery and that the subsequent communication was confusing. Once we established that the goods had been damaged in transit, we contacted you to clarify the situation and explain what had happened.

While we fully accept that the courier's handling of this delivery fell below the standard both you and we would expect, we had not received any contact from you regarding a failed or delayed delivery, nor any request for a replacement, prior to your review. Had we been made aware of the issue sooner, we would have been happy to investigate and arrange a suitable resolution.

We have attempted to contact you by telephone, however the number provided was not valid. We have therefore emailed you directly to apologise and to offer either an immediate replacement or a full refund, whichever you would prefer.
