Avoid five RR at all costs. these are scam artists. my freelancer did not show up and yet I was charged $45. I disputed it with my Citi card and five RR called and told me to drop the dispute and they would refund my money. so I did, but I could not get it! when I tried to re-initiate the dispute, Citi said I could not and to follow up with five RR, which I’ve done now for two months with eight different emails. they still have not paid me back. What a disgraceful company. Garrett Glaser. CNBC Business News. Retired.

I registered as a seller

I registered as a seller, created a gig, and within 24 h i got noting but scammers posing as buyers, one after another. There is nowhere to report their profile or report them, it shows a poorly developed app and no support to new sellers.
-Also, be aware if you are based for 30 years in lets say Spain, and your passport is from Bulgaria, your profile will show to people in Bulgaria.

Instead of pouring their money on advertisement, they should start paying proper money to professional web developers and working the faults, and get rid of spam bots. Until then i will work on other sites, there are plenty to choose from.

What a load of rubbish

What a load of rubbish! I had been talking to a seller who quoted for a job. I paid for the job, to which she then sent a message to say that she would have it completed ASAP. 30 minutes later, I received another email to say the job had been cancelled and she’d blocked me! This really is such a shameful level of customer service. I only hope that I’m fully refunded for the fee that I paid.

Fiverr used to be an honest and helpful…

Fiverr used to be an honest and helpful company. But over recent years they’ve gotten worse and worse with their customer service. They recently allowed me to get scammed out of $1,800 by a seller. They have a system where they will automatically complete an order even without your approval or consent that the work performed was sufficient enough.

And once the work is deemed “complete” (by them, not you) they will allow a seller to keep your money even if they don’t deliver on the task you requested.

That is a MAJOR red flag.

A customer should be able to approve and complete a task themselves, the company shouldn’t be automatically making that decision for you.

I complained about the issue and they did not care. I provided numerous screenshots and messages between me and the seller proving why I deserved a refund and they do not care what so ever.

$1,800 is a lot of money.

They are very bad for business. DO NOT buy on Fiverr if you want to be protected. RUN!!!!!

No respect for Sellers - Stay away.

Since Fiverr values reviews a lot, here it goes…

Fiverr is a strong marketplace for visibility, but it has become increasingly unbalanced for sellers. The major issue is not negative reviews themselves, but the lack of protection against reviews that contain misleading or false factual claims about a seller’s workflow or service.

Support acknowledges the problem but offers no practical solution, no escalation path, and no factual review moderation, even when it violates their own guidelines. As a result, reviews can be weaponized rather than used as genuine feedback for buyers.

If Fiverr wants to retain experienced professionals and high-skill services, the platform needs to treat sellers as partners and ensure fairness, accuracy, and context in the review system. It was like that in the past; due to the volume of new sellers, they don't care at all about it, even if you pay for their attention, as a Seller Plus member.

Competent work but poor practice

Fiverr uses unethical practices. I was shown a price. I proceeded to pay and then found $20 extra had been applied to my credit card. At the end of the project it seemed impossible to gain the work without giving the end person a tip.
The person delivering the work was good to deal with and they helped me get the final product without a tip.

Unreliable and unsafe site

Maybe this site worked for people, once upon a time, and maybe established people can manage a bit, but I've been on the site for over two years, and have literally gotten NOTHING but scam and phishing messages the entire time. It's not like I don't have a valuable profile - I offer business services with 25 years of experience, and on Upwork I make a living and have plenty of good experiences. Fiverr just seems to have nothing but scammers now. Within minutes of posting a new gig, I am INUNDATED with phishing messages. I report every one, but it happens every time. I look at other profiles, and see AI profile photos, half naked women..... The entire site has basically become bottom of the barrel scum. I have no intention of using it further, I gave it more than a fair chance. I think they need to completely revamp the site, add a lot more security, and maybe even rebrand, if they want to stay in the game. I don't know anyone who uses this platform anymore.

Terrible customer service - refused to help with their own technical issue

I've been using Fiverr since 2012 and this is the worst experience I've ever had. Their system had a technical bug that prevented me from using my 10% discount code. Their own support agent (DJ) admitted it was their technical issue, not mine, but then refused to offer ANY solution.

I asked them to either fix the code immediately, apply the discount manually after I pay, or give me account credit. DJ said "what you are requesting is not something I can approve" and told me to just wait indefinitely for their technical team.

Their technical team took over 24 hours and never fixed anything. When I complained, DJ was dismissive and rude, kept saying "I'm sorry" without providing any actual help.

On top of this, I wasted 2 days dealing with a fraudulent freelancer (andrew_jammess) who admitted he was working on other projects instead of mine, lied about completing work, and refused to deliver anything. Fiverr's cancellation process takes 48 hours minimum.

The platform has gone downhill. Customer service is terrible. Technical issues go unfixed for days. No accountability. After 13 years as a loyal customer, I'm done with Fiverr.

DO NOT USE FIVERR!!!!

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Fiverr. I hired a freelance trademark attorney to assist me in drafting and submitting my trademark. My trademark application was filed with an error that the attorney never informed me about. The application had to be sent to a third party for correction, and now I’m being asked to pay an additional $300 just to have it reviewed and resubmitted. I’ve tried multiple times to reach the attorney who filed my application, but I haven’t been able to get a response. I believe a partial refund was fair given the lack of communication and failure to address the issue within the required timeframe. However, Fiverr refuses to apply my $50 credit to my debit card. Instead, they have credited my account. I asked them why I would want to use their platform again after this terrible experience.

They explained to me that I had 14 days after services were rendered to issue a complaint. However, I insisted that their policy should not apply in this situation. Fourteen days after services were rendered, there was nothing wrong with my application, so I had nothing to report at that time. I only learned months later—from a third party—that there was an issue with my trademark. Trademarks take months to process, so I had no reason to believe anything was wrong or that my application wasn’t being properly handled by their freelancer.

If their company vetted and approved this freelancer, then the responsibility for their negligence should fall on both the freelancer and their company. Given that the full scope of services was not fulfilled, I requested that the $50 be credited back to my debit card.

They have refused my request. I am writing this review to warn others that if for any reason you may have an issue with your hired freelancer, know that this platform will not handle your issue in a fair and reasonable manner. If you are considering hiring a freelancer on the Fiverr platform, make sure that you read the policy and guidelines before hiring any freelancer. My recommendation would be to not use this platform at all! The risk is NOT worth the reward.
