First I should say I am not entirely new to pipe smoking, but this is my first and only Flogglewerks pipe.

Upon receiving the pipe I thought it looked a bit overly simple but still a beautiful piece. I did a light coating of honey on the inside of the bowl and allowed that to dry for around 32 hours. I loaded it with some SPC Plum Pudding Special Reserve flake and sat back for a long and slow smoke. At first I could not have been more pleased!! The pipe smoked easy and smooth with a fine cool smoke. I smoked it slow with plenty of breaks, totaling to roughly 2 hours. Never once did it feel hot to the touch in my hand. However, as I was getting to the bottom of the bowl it started to taste especially bitter and downright nasty. When I tapped the bowl out, to my complete disappointment and despair, a large portion of the bottom of the chamber had been burned away. So much so that the end of the stem was charred!

To conclude, I really really wanted to love this pipe. But one smoke, and it is ruined. I smoked it slow and cool, trying to build a cake in the chamber. Very sad and disappointed to have such a piece be a one smoke pipe.

My Flogglewerks pipe is truly a work of art. It's beautiful to look at, has a nice hand feel and draws easily providing a pleasant taste.

My pipe was delivered a couple of days early. It was packaged perfectly with protection in mind. The pipe itself…. I ordered the black hobbit pipe with a 12 inch stem. It smokes beautifully. I am still in the break in process but I see this pipe becoming one of my favorites. The bowl was so smooth on the in and outside. The ONLY issue I have is the stem seems to fit a bit more loose the my old church warden I bought about two years ago.

I ordered the hobbit pipe in myrtle with the 12 inch curved stem and I'd have to say it beat my expectations by far. I have received the pipe fairly quickly in just a few days from ordering. I've only smoked two bowls so far. The draw on this thing is pretty amazing and it's very comfortable to hold as you kick back and relax. I can't wait to try my many blends in this pipe. Thanks Flogglewerks. I will be ordering more pipes from you in the future.

Great stems. These work great with my handmade pipes.

Pipe was delivered on date as promised! Craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. I ordered 12 inch long in maple. Product description and personalized writing were exactly what I ordered. Shopped around with other dealers and for the quality and design this pipe was perfect. However, though they include initial smoking instructions with product, I would have appreciated more detail on disassembling the pipe for cleaning.

I bought my first FloggleWerks pipe in 2014. It still looks good, smokes great, I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
This year (2022) I bought one for my brother in-law because he is just as big of a Tolkien fan as I am. :) I went ahead and ordered myself another. My first pipe had my initials, and my new pipe includes my full name. I can easily tell them apart but still quality work. Can’t wait to break it in.
