A nightmare experience! For your own sanity please stay away
Allow me to explain my grievances. I purchased this insurance after being directed by the website GoCompare where I had completed an insurance search. I inputed all the information requested and was honest in all that I provided. The insurance quotation was bound to a telematic which was fine by us as we had used one before and it attested to our good driving habits. The telematic came in an unmarked parcel which I had to open in order to see what was inside as I was waiting for a number of parcels. I was on shift for a number of days and couldn't install it until the 2nd of May. It was made to seem urgent that I install it, a deadline was given for the 2nd which luckily was my first day off. I installed it successfully on the 2nd of May and was satisfied that I had fulfilled the requirements.
I then receive a letter from you on Monday the 4th, dated the 1st, stating that you will cancel the insurance and the reason being is that I didn't contact you to validate the insurance. In all my experience with insurances I have never had to call to validate anything and if there is an issue the company calls to discuss. However as the tones were menacing, I did call to find out what the issue was as I thought it had to do with the telematic. I spoke to a lady who stating that she needed to clarify some of the information. Namely the details of a past accident which I had reported and my profession. They had found online I was listed as a company director. I explained that due to the corona virus I was unable to proceed with this plan and am still employed. I also pointed out that there was no box for a second employment on the forms anyway and am not receiving any other source of income nor working any hours as a company director - only as an employed HGV driver.
The lady kept going on and off the phone and making me wait for long periods of time between this interrogation session. In the end she decided that my answers were not satisfactory and we would have to call back to speak to someone else. We called and had to explain the whole issue all over again. This phone operator was quite aggressive from beginning. She said our insurance would go up because we had not given the correct information. I explained that we had. She said we had not declared the accident. I explained we had and that I put it on the GoCompare site and that is why you had the record and her colleague previously had not raised this as an issue at all. She responded by telling me that I had to take it up with GoCompare, refusing to reply to the evidence I gave her.
She then proceeded to "dress me down" about employment. Do I drive garbage truck. I patiently explained that I don't I drives over 7tn in different industry. The questions continued, how long I work, where, how long I'm employed there. I felt like I was on the phone with the police. I expressed my frustration that in the almost 20 years I have been driving, I have never come across anything like this. She said she's making sure it wasn't used for business purposes. I had already, categorically told her that it wouldn't. She then said we have to pay an extra 144.06 otherwise the insurance would be cancelled and we would have to pay a similar amount because we have opened the telematic (which we were pressured into installing asap) and there are cancellation fees. We paid the fee but then were send the policy by post and the terms of business were not what we signed up for. Policy dates and details were wrong and the asked for the insides of a cats back in terms of further documents! I asked to cancel and haven't heard from them yet. They try to scam people and get more money out of them beware !

I am amazed by the time and trouble that my advisor, Katy, took to resolve my problems. I would recommend sterling to any one, they are so helpful and go the extra mile
Great service from Leah today!!
Great service from Leah today! I was constantly getting emails stating my policy was going to be cancelled if the correct documents were not sent (even though these were sent as soon as the policy was taken out!) It turns out when I added them through my online account it was registered correctly but issue now resolved! Thanks Leah!
Flux are a nightmare! Stay away!
I dont even want to give one star! Flux are con merchants - steer clear!
After a month of fighting them as they tried to charge me £215 for cancelled insurance policy that was there fault for not asking for all the info - I had to send them the screen shots to prove what they had claimed in debt collector letters etc... had not actually happened and they were in the wrong!
Flux Direct have begrudgingly accepted after 10 emails and threatening letters that a full refund is due after threatening debt collectors and all sorts. I have wasted hours on fighting them - they are con merchants.
I sent them the 3 photos of the website that i sent you. Nowhere did your site or their site ask for “student living away” address even though i ticked that box. As a result of that they tried to charge me £215 for NOT processing and cancelling the insurance policy because they didn’t have the address until I had to call them! They tried to con me out of:
1. An admin fee
2. A weeks cost of insurance (their minimum!)
3. the cost of a telematics box that was sent to me that was only refundable if unopened - but it was sent in a package which was unmarked so if you didn’t open it you didn’t know what it was.
The total cost they were trying to get me to pay was £215 for NOT processing an insurance!
My worry for anyone looking at Flux is you will be scammed/conned by this insurance company - they try to con people out of £215 every time they don't process an order! They are unscrupulous and got very threatening! PLEASE STAY AWAY FRO THEM SO YOU DONT HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH!
And the comparison websites are helping them with this con!!
I have had no apology from Flux Direct and no acknowledgement that they were in the wrong - despite writing 10 letters to say I was in the wrong and it was all my fault! That is outrageous and i will be going more on social media to tell people - as the insurance industry should help make the industry legit - and Flux is definitely not one of them!

Awful company
Awful company. Had issues from the beginning with them from changes of prices from person to person and so on. They have now cancelled my policy because my smartbox isn’t charged due to my car being in the garage. Told me over the phone that it was originally no problem and my policy wouldn’t be cancelled and to ignore any emails about battery life. Was then emailed to say I had to replace to my smartbox as it “wasn’t working” but trying to explain to them how it isn’t broken and the dead battery is due to my car being in the garage (which they already know) seems to be ignored by them and due to their terrible customer service they go straight to cancelling your policy.

I feel like being scammed
I am writing following an utterly disgraceful day after buying the car Insurance which was recommended by a friend yesterday. I didn't receive the policy documents straight away instead they send me over mid night.
After carefully going through the documents this morning, there were 2 to 3 errors which was different in the policy then which I entered at "Go compare site" such as, "The licence held which was nearly 4 months after I actually received my Full UK driving licence".
I called them this morning to rectify this morning instead the broker charged me a whopping over £120 pounds not including the amendment fee of around £30.
There should not bee ripping the customers! I have never been this disappointed with a service and insurance provider before.

Do not Trust
Unfortunately if you are reading this you too have probably been scammed. Read the policy document, whether it is legal raises massive question marks. They base their policies on fire and forget communications. They are not open to reasonable communication. They cancel policies without affirmation. Their telemetrics system warrants driving behaviours unparalleled. Ultimately they hide behind their legal obligations which raises the point is the insurance they provide fit for purpose under the sale of goods act. Great customer service
Great customer service and very friendly. They explained everything to me since it was my first year of insurance. The only issue I had was that I had to phone them 3 time to change my number, but overall very positive experience.
No issues with this company from my side.
I’ve been with this company for a year now.
My insurance was about to end in 2 weeks. So I got an email with the renewal quote etc.
It said on the email, they will automatically take money from the registered credit card 5 days before the insurance renews, unless I call up before that to cancel it.
I’ve had no problems with this company what so ever.
Whenever I called up, the customer service was always friendly and helpful.
If you really want to find out what’s going on if you’re confused, I would recommend to call them. That’s what I done and everything was fine.

My son has suffered sleepless nights and anxiety due to these people. He passed his test and phoned to update his policy. He ended up cancelling and paid a cancellation fee thinking that was it. He has now received a third party letter threatening him with additional costs. They reply to everyone on hear saying they are sorry but clearly their action speak for themselves.

I can’t fault Flux. They are excellent.
We took out learner driver cover for our son which was very reasonable. When he passed his test he stayed with them as their quote was the most competitive. The customer service has always been excellent and very supportive and my son appreciates that there are not too many restrictions on their ‘box’ with no night driving curfew. I can highly recommend them. There will be a cancellation fee if you don’t stay with them for full insurance but they were clear about this from the get go.

My daughter took out insurance with this company whilst learning to drive. She passed her test and went to phone them up to get an upgrade quote. Couldn't get hold of anyone so cancelled her policy with these and went elsewhere. Today she has been told she has to pay a 220 pound fee as she cancelled policy as she was paying monthly. She was never told this when she cancelled. Avoid these like the plague.

Worst company to ever have dealt with
Was a new customer with Fluxdirect for a few months as got a better quote. While I was out of the country, got an email almost threatening language saying if I did not contact them in 7 days, the insurance would be cancelled. My wife tried to contact them while I was away but they have so many different sister companies that it is task to locate yourself. Once I came back to UK, I got in contact with them, I was told since I did not contact them in 7 days, my policy has been cancelled.
I never had similar experience before although I have been driving for 7 years with no claims. Avoid these scammers like a plague

learner insurance scam!!!
Got my learner insurance with this company and payed monthly. That was all fine until I passed my test. I tried to cancel my policy and after 40 minutes of different people trying to sell me an insurance quote with them of about £4000 with a black box (which I didn’t want as I had a better quote) they told me I had to pay £400 as I hadn’t had a full year (I had 3 months left, I payed £36 a month for my insurance), which I refused to do. I now have to pay £50 a month to them until January which is absolutely ridiculous as I was told when I got the learner insurance I would only have to pay cancellation when I passed. They then didn’t even try to take out the money and I got an email to say I needed to pay it. I can’t find anything on their website to pay this and it’s getting ridiculous. DONT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Charlie helped me to update my policy, and gave lots of really useful advice that I should definitely consider on renewal.
