AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I returned an item to Footdistrict from the UK, following their return guidance as set out on their website. This included printing and attaching the invoice and customs declaration that was requested by email, and writing return plus the order number on the parcel.
I ensured the item was marked return to sender when paying the return post, and I have paper receipts to confirm this which was emailed to the company.
The company then advised that a partial refund would be made as they had to pay for import costs when the item arrived in Spain. This was absolutely ridiculous as I followed their guidance to the letter. I have been left out of pocket as a customer and the company continues to deflect that it must have been an issue with the courier. Has it considered that it's returns advice is incorrect.
I would strongly advise against shopping with footdistrict especially if you're based in the UK as you risk shocking customer service and partial refunds for returned goods even though processes were followed

After reviewing the return with our logistics team, we confirmed that the shipment was not returned using a service that covers customs duties and taxes for the recipient, which is required for returns sent from the United Kingdom to Spain. As a result, when the parcel arrived at customs, import duties and handling fees were charged to FOOTDISTRICT in order for the package to be released.
Unfortunately, these charges are determined by the carrier and the customs authorities and are outside of our control. For this reason, and in accordance with our return policy for shipments originating outside the European Union, the import costs incurred had to be deducted from the refund amount.
We understand that international returns can sometimes be confusing due to the customs procedures currently in place between the UK and the EU. For this reason, our return instructions specify that parcels must be sent as a return shipment with duties covered by the sender, ensuring that no import charges are applied to the receiving party.
We would like to inform you that the return policy is available on our website so that all users can check it and agree to it before placing the order.

The purchase and delivery were fine, the shoes arrived quickly. However, returns are more complicated than at other stores. I paid the full cost of returning the item, and the shipping cost was deducted when the item was returned. The store is reliable, but the competition doesn't have such extra costs. If they change this I will order from them again.

Found a pair of shoes that was sold out everywhere. delivery was smooth and on time. Shoes travelled all the way from spain to the netherlands but arrived on time and in perfect shape. Will buy here again.
