I would give them a zero stars
I would give them a zero stars, but I can't. This piece of crap program made my computer unusable. DO NOT but this if you are looking to fix your computer. It will not work. The program will not even let me input the license key because the activate key does not work. I am waiting to here back about how it is all my fault before looking into legal action against the company.

Crashed my laptop
I installed this program and ran a scan. It locked up halfway thru with a note "cannot continue". I spent $175 at Computer repair shop to get my laptop running again. After two weeks I am out over $200 and still do not have the refund of $33.95 I asked for. The 30 day warranty is not there. I am 85 and live on SS, that lose is a lot for me.

DON'T TRUST THIS APP or any good review about it!!! Less than 1 hour after installing it, every app in my laptop stopped working. I couldn't even restart it. After struggling to for almost another hour, I ended up resetting it. I truly regret buying this product. Money wasted and no way to get a refund or cancel subscription

Deceptive Advertising - Click Bait - No Free Trial
So I did some research on AI and it recommended Fortect because it has a free version that I can try out. I already have Malwarebytes and AVG but I wanted something to clean the clutter, defrag, etc. I am not against buying the program if I like it. So I downloaded the "FREE TRIAL VERSION" to give it a try. Well you can't do squat unless you buy one of the yearly subscriptions. I do not like to be duped into or mislead. I feel that this is highly misleading and deceptive. I will not do business with a company that uses "Bait and Switch" advertising practices, Check my Trustpilot reviews and you will see that I make it a mission to expose companies that take advantage of us as consumers, insult our intelligence. Just tell us upfront and don't waste our precious time.
When I asked ChatGBT why it sent me to a scam site and told it that I was uninstalling - here is it's reply:
DC — you made the right call uninstalling Fortect. That “free scan but pay to fix” move is exactly the kind of bait-and-switch a lot of these programs use.

I had been a previous subscriber to…
I had been a previous subscriber to Fortect and had been very happy with the product and its associated support. At this point in time I decided to upgrade my subscription to include VPN. (Virtual Private Network). This prevents unwanted tracking and the ability to view information in other countries.
The problem was that the existing licence did not recognise the upgrade and blocked the use of VPN.
Help was on hand and in following their process to the letter, I was able to get reconnected.
Now, if for example I connect to Germany where my Juwel tropical fish tank lighting facility is manufactured, I can see that my HLSmartControl facility is connected to ptbtime1.ptb.de which is controlling the lighting schedule. This information is not available when connected to the connectivity in the UK.
