Quick, helpful, worth the money!

Highly recommend Forth for blood tests! Website very informative which helped me to create my own personal test focussing on the specifics I wanted. Taking the test was really easy, very clear instructions and well packaged. Quick delivery of the kit and super quick results! Sent my kit back on a Tuesday and by Thursday morning had my results back with full feedback. All for a very reasonable price too!!

Not worth it.

Bought a blood test kit to check my magnesium level. Read the instructions 3 times and followed them. I am used to finger pricks as a diabetic. Used all 3 lancets but never got enough flow to get more than a drip of blood each time that stuck to the top of the tube. Bravo to those that actually managed to collect enough.
The instruction video glosses over the awkward method of encouraging your blood to fill the tube standing in the wobbly cardboard hole while massaging your hand and finger.
Since all the tests are based on this method I wouldn’t recommend anyone buying this system.

Stressful company to deal with

Terrible customer service. They sent test to wrong address, up to 48 hours wait on email response. Refused to speak on the phone to hurry things up. Took 17 emails and three weeks to eventually get test ordered. (We needed test results quickly for doc appointment.) When one of the test samples failed, they wanted to charge us an additional £10 for another. Very frustrating and stressful company to deal with.

Great Service Easy to use

I have used the services of Forth With Life for over 18 mths .
I like that you can be very specific in what bloods you would like testing if you want a bespoke test or go with a package already available and add any extras on.
I arrange a local clinic via the site to take the bloods
It's all very easy to do
Results are sent back via email and any irregularities are made by a phone call
I have used these tests to take back to my gp and hormone specialist
Cassidy was amazing when I emailed stating that I had missed a specific test I needed testing and added it to the list effortlessly.

Would not hesitate to recommend

Fast delivery of my test pack

Fast delivery of my test pack, and fast interpretation and delivery of my detailed results, which I received on a Sunday. I need to monitor my liver function regularly due to a medication I’m taking, and I’ll definitely be coming back to Forth!

Good idea, poor execution and customer service

I was ordering two time sensitive tests (cortisol 9am and progesterone 7days post ovulation), and so emailed ahead to ensure they would be able to accommodate these timings as a venous blood draw (these test are much less accurate via finger prick). I was advised to book the early slot with the at home phlebotomist who turned up at 7am (side note: she didn’t ask to wash her hands or wear gloves). She opened the test pack and took it away with her - having done a second test I know there is information that needs to be filled out with the test (crucial for progesterone), she didn’t ask me these questions.

When I got the results they said the cortisol wouldn’t be accurate due to test timing (their phlebotomist came 2hrs too early!) and they couldn’t interpret the progesterone for me as they didn’t know my cycle day (a question I hadn’t been asked!). I asked for a repeat of the cortisol test and they offered to also test progesterone at the same time, via finger prick as it seems they cannot guarantee a 9am phlebotomist - not telling me this when I outright asked the question in the first place comes across as a money grab!

I’d read on previous reviews that they’d blamed burst blood vessels (due to too much pressure being applied to the finger) on not getting people their results. I was therefore very careful about following the massage instructions, applying little pressure to the length of the finger and allowing it to flow freely. I had to prick three different fingers to collect the sample with no squeezing.

When I got my results they hadn’t tested cortisol at all, and offered no interpretation of the progesterone marker. I know I can google this, but it’s suppose to be part of the service. I queried the results and got the same cut and paste answer about burst blood vessels and a suggestion that I should pay for a further test.

The quick and best test ever

I’m really grateful for the way my doctor explained my blood test results — everything was so clear and easy to understand. They didn’t just list the numbers but actually helped me make sense of how I’m feeling and what I can do about it.

I’ve been struggling with tiredness and low energy for a while, and I finally feel heard. The advice about vitamin D, hydration, and the cholesterol explanation were especially helpful. I also appreciated the gentle suggestion to recheck my ferritin based on my symptoms — it made me feel truly cared for.

Thank you for being so supportive and professional!

Deeply disappointed

Deeply disappointed, unreliable results, and poor customer service

I purchased a home blood test kit from Forth to check my prolactin levels due to ongoing health concerns. Despite following all instructions perfectly — fasting, testing first thing in the morning, avoiding physical activity or stress — I received an alarming result of over 2,000 mU/L.

Shocked, I immediately repeated the test through my GP using a proper venous blood draw in an NHS lab, and the result came back as ~500 mU/L, which is completely normal. Prolactin does not fluctuate that dramatically unless there’s a serious medical issue or a clear testing error — and no such issue exists in my case.

I raised this with Forth and was told the home kit was reliable, despite well-documented medical evidence that prolactin is too unstable to be tested accurately using finger-prick, mail-in kits. These results caused unnecessary distress and wasted NHS resources ( urgent appointment GP, urgent referral to endocrinologist, urgent eye test in case of pituitary tumor). In return, they offered only a 10% refund after a full week of silence, which is frankly insulting given the emotional and financial cost.

If you need hormone testing — especially for prolactin — go through a proper lab and avoid this company. Their testing method for sensitive hormones is scientifically flawed, and their customer care dismissive when concerns are raised. I won’t be using them again.

Hi Aurelie

We are genuinely sorry to hear of your emotional distress.

We would like to address some of the points you raised, as we take such matters extremely seriously.

The foundation of our service is built upon providing accurate and clinically robust results. We only offer tests which have been clinically validated for sample collection type and proven to be stable for use in a remote service. The test in question, prolactin, has undergone such clinical validation by the NHS laboratory, which analysed your sample. During the study, there was no significant difference found between a venous sample and a capillary sample. These same findings have been replicated at multiple labs throughout the UK. The NHS lab, which analysed your sample, is accredited to ISO 15189, and prolactin from venous and capillary samples is approved by UKAS as part of this accreditation.

ISO 15189 accredited laboratories adhere to stringent protocols and quality control measures which are identical to those used by your GP. It is unclear why there was such a difference between your NHS lab test through your GP and the NHS lab test purchased through Forth. In circumstances where we do receive an erroneous result, our medical policy is to advise a retest to rule out contamination or testing errors, which, while infrequent, can occur in any laboratory setting. Published evidence also indicates that prolactin in particular, significantly fluctuates throughout the day and dramatically increases in stressful situations, when it can increase 2-10 times normal values within a few minutes.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you do not wish to use our service again. We remain committed to helping individuals take control of their health by providing accessible and scientifically validated testing.

Best regards
The Forth Team

Customised blood test

Results came in quickly and although some tests could not be read I was given some credit back and advice on how to draw blood for next time to achieve a better analysis of all results. This is now my go to place for blood work to improve my fitness safely.
