We looked everywhere for sofas - literally from Italy to Ilkeston. We are looking to the right fabric and right finish.
We looked at Various outlets in Derby and found Frank Knighton on Ascot Drive. We then went to their store in Ilkeston where all the staff were very friendly and Mabel took us thorugh various options and even took us into the warehouse to see how some fabrics looked.
Some time later we went back and ordered the suite of our choice. The service continued to be outstanding.
The suite arrived early and was expertly delivered by a very personable team.
This is a great family business run by people who genuinely care. The finish is spot on for us.

Brilliant company -couldn’t be more helpful from start to finish. So pleased with our suite -really nice.would highly recommend.

From walking in on our first visit we were welcomed by warm smiling faces. Very friendly, well informed and not pushy. We could walk around at our own pace and then ask questions which were answered well. You could feel the pride they had in their business, something that most shops have lost in the last few year. We did not purchase anything as we could not agree on which to buy but after a couple of weeks we went back and picked our furniture. Again the staff were brilliant, so helpful and they even remembered us. The items were delivered and even the delivery men were so helpful and professional. Cant rate them high enough

We were browsing around Frank Knighton’s in Nottingham and with the support of the wonderful Gillian, chose our all singing and dancing Parker Knoll sofas. Gillian was there when we needed her but there was absolutely no pressure - she was a star 🌟
Today our wonderful sofas were delivered by Nick and Lee. They went the absolute extra mile! They almost performed magic to get them into our tiny house. They worked like trojans and were very pleasant and positive all the way through. We could not be more pleased ! 100% service with a smile and the quality of the furniture is second to none. We highly recommend Frank Knighton to anyone needing new furniture. You will be so impressed. Thank you all so very much.

Fantastic family business that provides a unique customer service, rarely experienced these days.
We are absolutely thrilled with our beautiful bespoke furniture and cannot praise all the staff we dealt with highly enough. Their friendliness, help at all times and professionalism does them proud.
A special mention to Florence who communicated regularly during the order process and was so helpful and accommodating. Nick who kept us up to date on the delivery and was very professional at all times and Richard and Nelly who delivered the suite and took great care in there work and setting up the furniture in the lounge.

The salesman at ascot drive showroom was fantastic, listened to what we wanted and offered excellent suggestions and advice to ensure our needs were met. We were asked to attend the Ilkeston showroom to see the suite in production and the layout of the suites was what we wanted. It was great to see craftsmen producing high end quality furniture and to our specifications. We were contacted by Nick at Ilkeston to arrange delivery date and time. The delivery was as agreed so no waiting in all day. The service we have received was above and beyond our expectations. The best company we've had the pleasure of dealing with over recent times and would highly recommend others to experience the great customer service which is very rare these days.

from when we ordered in july its been 1st class service all the way from gillian and graham in the showroom the quality of our sofa and chair is superior and the delivery men were great couldnt do enough for us would definitely reccommend frank knighton all the way for their quality so pleased

What a find this place is....From walking in the store through to delivery we couldn't be happier with our new sofa and snugger. We were never pressured, the pricing is transparent, the help and honest advice was exceptional from Alan. Nick Knighton himself drove and offloaded the lorry (no charge for our delivery). My Alston's Lancaster's look fabulous, a quality build and material chosen even down to the four complementary matching scatters everything is exactly how we envisaged in fabric 3708 Richmond natural. Thank you Nick, Alan and team for your patience with our very exacting requirements - you all nailed it...and some....

Amazing service from the minute we walked into the store to delivery of our sofa. Mable helped with any questions we had and Nick was super friendly on delivery. I didn’t catch the name of the other delivery gentleman but he was also lovely!

I found the details for Frank Knighton online when I was browsing for sofa companies. I am so pleased that I did! I visited the showroom in Ilkeston, it was a really nice, non pressurised atmosphere with a variety of sofas and chairs on display. I found the prices were cheaper than other competitors and the quality far better.
Mabel was helpful and friendly, it was nice to talk things through with her in the showroom, look at various samples and ask for her professional advice. To be honest the journey has been excellent all the way through, with excellent communications with Nick while my recliner chairs and footstool were being made, to going back to view them prior to delivery to see if the chairs needed any more padding in them to a spot on delivery.
This company is the best, they know how to look after their customers and I feel lucky to have found them!
If I could add more stars to my review then I would!
I am very happy with my recliner chairs, they are a beautiful colour and so comfy.

Went into the city centre branch and didn’t find anything we wanted. Spoke to the fabulous Gillian who explained all the options available. In the end we placed an order for a G Plan sofa and chair which we are awaiting delivery of. All through the process, Gillian has been wonderful, helpful and amusing. Thank you, looking forward to delivery.

I cannot recommend Frank Knighton highly enough. If I could give them 10 stars I would.
We bought a Parker Knoll Suite 4 years ago and over time ,as with any suite , it has become less firm.
Frank Knighton, because they are also a manufacturer offer a service where they replace the seat foam ( at cost price) and replace the back stuffing for free. I don't think any other retailer offers this service and it is terrific.
Two really great gentlemen came to collect it with great care and a couple of weeks later they brought it back and it is like new !
I was kept fully informed as to timings etc and the cost was minimal.
They were also terrific when we were buying the suite , especially as it was 2020 so not an easy year. A great price for what we had chosen, but the after sales , the courteous staff, the great communication are absolutely top notch.
It makes such a change to find a family firm that you just know you will use time and again. Long may they last.

From the initial walking into the showroom on Ascot Drive when we first started looking for a new sofa, to ordering then delivery today has been top class service. We are so happy with the quality of the furniture, will definitely recommend

Purchased a sofa from these people in good faith, very pleasant experience in the showroom but unfortunately that’s where it ends. The leather sofa and chair we purchased which we had only a few weeks started to show signs of what you would expect to see after many years of use, bearing in mind that the furniture is sat on for a couple of hours in the evening. We reported fundamental issues that we considered should not have occurred to be told it’s the way we sit on it and it needs to be dressed the issues are natural characteristics. What a complete nonsense Mr Knighton speaks, very cocky, self opinionated person and thinks he knows it all. The sofa is a recliner and the frame is totally out of alignment, the cushions are all shapes and sizes, you can almost think that the two parts are from entirely different production lines as they are odd, we have squeaking and groaning on the frame every time you sit or rise, the hide is saggy and dented in various places after such a short time, I would not expect to see these issues, but we are told this is perfectly normal and part of the furniture’s characteristics, what a joke Frank Knightons are. They took away an arm/wing as they like to call it to make repairs, when it came back Mr Knighton would not allow me to look at the repair and just wanted to get it back into position and leave promptly when we challenged him that was not the arm he took away, conveniently we choose the same colour sofa that was in the showroom, I’m adamant that they were switched, something he continues to lie about. He has a lot of incorrect opinions and even stated that we are fussy, bearing in mind that he proffered the information that you get what you pay for as this furniture is made to a price, also he noted that he could see further fundamental issues with the furniture that we had not spotted or reported, these comments certainly don’t fill you full of confidence. We have asked for a refund to be told that they would be happy to do this but told us we would have to pay 25% restocking fee in the sum of £700.00 as detailed in their T&C’s, this restocking fee does not exist, we asked for an explanation to which was not been answered to date, they have now flatly refused to make any sort of refund and have even suggested that again they will take it back as a cancelled order but the fee still remains, they quoted 7.1 of their T&C’s this still being incorrect as this is not a cancelled order, we have not changed our mind the furniture is not fit for purpose, also we have the goods and they have been paid in full in good faith, totally unacceptable and unethical. They keep quoting that they are different and provide a better customer experience than any other retailer, unfortunately this is not something we have experienced, in fact far from it, they are as nice as pie while the transaction is going through and then after they are rude and dismissive, and as soon as a problem arises they have no time for you. We have sent multiple emails and have continually had to chase for reply’s.
Today they have offered to exchange our furniture with the second hand showroom model. We paid for new furniture, how dare you think this is a resolve, you are deluded. This is not over but you good genuine people out there be cautious if you choose to deal with these people.

What a wonderful service. The shop staff were really helpful helping us decide exactly what combination of furniture we wanted. When the suite was delivered Nick and the other gentleman, sorry didn’t gave his name, were great. We are delighted with our furniture and just need to pick up the footstool which we have had recovered to match the suite. Great service and would recommend to all our friends and family.

This is the only time we have ordered furniture off the internet and we're a little worried about doing so, however Mick Barsby from Frank Knighton completely put our minds at rest, with his knowledge and description of the furniture as it was a Clearance Sale, we asked many questions, all of which were answered by Mick quickly and accurately and because of him we decided to purchase and on receipt of the sofa and chairs we are so glad that we did, the Parker Knoll suite is fantastic and at such a great price we are over the moon! So thank you very much Mick, I would definitely buy from Frank Knighton again a terrific buying experience.

Recently had an electrical problem with our three year old recliner reported to shop and they came asap fixed it with no charge or fuss.

So much choice, but we already had in our minds what settee we wanted, but still lots of choice. This was worth the wait and to be honest I didn't think it was that long to wait, it went really quickly. And when it came, was not disappointed. Great comms arranging time to deliver and a great team that arrived. Not sure now how they managed to get it in our house, but they worked miracles. Well done lads.

Frank Knighton is definitely a name to trust. I bought furniture from the Ilkeston showrooms and it was almost 2 years before I could have it delivered, due to personal circumstances. It was immaculate on arrival and was unpacked and assembled/put in place by Nick and Nelly. They didn’t leave until everything was ‘just right’. Lovely, personable and professional people who clearly value family and providing excellent service. Thank you so much to Mick, Nick, Nelly and Mabel. Oh, and the icing on the cake - best prices you could possibly find.
