Freet shoes are among the most Barefoot I've ever had. They are wide, foot-shaped and very comfortable. Also a great company as regards returns and sizing advice. Highly recommended.

Poor customer service

I really don't like having to complain about a company, but unfortunately the poor customer service and having to raise a dispute with my bank for a refund, has lost Freet yet another customer.
I wish the company all the best, but I won't buy from them again.

I'm intrigued reading the reviews on…

I'm intrigued reading the reviews on here. I've bought 1 pair of Freet on average a year since it's inception. I don't know the staff personally, and have never received free shoes or ambassadorial products.

It's hard to take a balanced view from someone buying 1 item, because that person may have been unlucky. And it's human nature, particularly in the UK, that if something works well, like everyday things do, very few people review it. If it works, they're content with that. We're not a particularly enthusiastic country about many things, unfortunately. Given the length of time Freet have been making shoes, It's a shame there aren't more long term reviews.

In my experience no Freet shoe has ever worn out or broken within a year. I walk at least 1-2 miles a day on varied terrain, and go to the gym in them. Anyone saying they break within days or several months, has either been very unlucky, or was wearing them unusually. Mine have all lasted a minimum of 2 years, then shown/felt some sole wear, nothing else.

The staff have always been friendly and quick to reply, and even showed heartfelt emotion and empathy for me after I'd shared a serious health problem.

The only disappointment is 1-2 years ago the dimensions of my favourite and most regular shoe, have become significantly narrower. I'm not sure why. The result is the don't fit my feet anymore. My feet are wide. Hopefully this review helps them to review the width of their everyday shoes. Losing a regular customer to dimension changes is a concern. Overall they are tad shorter too. Roominess used to be Freet's major strength.

The last 1-2 years, occasionally shoes arrive with different dimensions, one longer/shorter than the other.

In the last 1-2 years I can only think the manufacturer changed, or the same manufacturer's quality has dropped quite a lot.

Several reviews on here have mentioned dimension issues, so I feel it's a fairly widespread, genuine problem.

Look forward to coming back, when the width, general roominess and sizing consistency improves. Rooting for you. Thank you

Poor quality

Poor quality. After wearing them a few times, the shoe comes loose from the sole and is no longer waterproof.
I advise everyone against buying these shoes.

Freet Mudee

I bought the Freet Mudee in June 2022 and it lasted me through from then till Jan 2025, where the glue failed and the sole came away. I was only wearing them on the wet and cold days and found hem comfortable. I fould it sized to wearing thick socks which is what you tend to wear in the cold months! I would say that the grip could be better and it looks like the Mudee 2 addresses this. I shall find out when they arrive!

Go Elsewhere

I've had several Freet shoes. The soles don't last particularly long and their customer service is poor. I'd go elsewhere...

Mixed experiance. Review of Tundra's.

I bought a pair of Tundra sometime time ago my 3rd pair of Freets, I had positive expectations of the then new Tundras as I wanted waterproof boots with better mud traction. To start with they were great, I did a positive early review of them. I thought they had cracked the allusive waterproof boot. They were very waterproof to start with, comfortable, good in the mud, warm even in sub zero temps. However in just under 6 months one boot began to leak, failed glue at the top where sole meets upper boot. I also had problems with the top lace fixing eyelet failing. I paid for the eyelet repair out of my own money and reglued the sole with Gorilla glue. The boots leaked again. I was so disappointed because they are great in many ways, however as a part-time outdoorsman I needed a waterproof boot, they failed too quickly, considering the price. but too late to ask for a refund! This experience has put me off buying from Freet again. Such a shame

High Quality Shoes, High Quality People

- Amazing customer service
- Great, hardy boots that last
- Ethical company

If you want some high quality shoes, and to support an ethically upstanding company, look no further. I cannot sing their praises highly enough.

I wanted some barefoot shoes, but sadly my feet are quite wide, and didn't fit Xero's, and going by anyasreviews, the other brands wouldn't be worth trying with wide feet. But the Freet Mudee and Tundra were perfect. I tried some of their trainers, but sadly my feet were still slightly too wide for them (I'd recommend Skinners 2.0 Socks for anyone with very wide feet looking for a truly barefoot type trainer/running shoe).

The returns process to try out different sizes was extremely user friendly and either free or cheap.

Also, I was unable to return the shoes for a while due to various personal problems. I contacted Freet past the return window and they reassured me that it wasn't a problem, as long as they were as-new, I could return them later. I eventually did with no issue (compassionate people).

There are some other reviews here complaining about the quality of the Mudee and the Tundra, saying they're coming apart after months of use. I've had both of mine for over a year (longer than the others) and have experienced zero issues. They're both still going strong. And I have a few friends who have worn Mudee's for years without any issue.

Also, there's a review saying that the "York" model is more rigid than normal shoes. This doesn't reflect my experience.

Good shoes

It is about a year that I am wearing freet shoes and I am happy overall. The design is not the most appealing, but they are confortable, cheap and customer service works fine. I had an issue with my last order and within a week I got my refund and I was offered a free delivery for my next purchase. So far, they didn't wear out as other have experience. In 1 year I keep switching between two pairs, maybe this is why. So far the best barefoot shoes for my feet

Good customer service, questionable product

Freet shoes bought in late April for £85 started falling apart in July, with the fabric lining in both shoes developing holes. I emailed the customer service, sharing photos and asking for repair, replacement or refund - and was readily given a 50% rebate. I cannot be too upset about Freet's customer service, but I doubt that I will be buying their shoes again.

Good experience

I ordered multiple sizes from the US store and kept one and returned the other with no issues. I just bought my second pair. This is the only brand of shoes that are wide enough for my feet so I hope they stick around for a while! Wearing them for hiking and backpacking, seem to be holding up well. The sizing does seem to vary per style.

Disappointed with freet who I had heard…

Disappointed with freet who I had heard good things about.

Unfortunately the quality of the mudee shoes does not live up to what is expected of a pair of shoes that have a £66 price tag. One week into wearing them and they had already started fraying at the seams around the back of the boot and where the leather meets the sole. The seams are exposed and there is a daily build up of powdery dried white adhesive. The seams are quite unsightly as there are white streaks against the tan colour.

I have tried over the past month to contact freet about this. I have sent over ten emails, messaged on their website and attempted to phone, but there is no reply. Customer service does not exist.

Great budget friendly shoes

They're probably the cheapest non-scam barefoot seller out there. They glue instead of stich their shoes so you can't expect them to last a lifetime though. I think they're the go-to brand if you wanna try out barefoot shoes for the first time or just want a budget friendly pair of barefoot shoes. Shipping is fast as well and products advertised are as present so definitely go check them out.

I've had several of their shoes - very comfortable

I've had several different pairs of their shoes - very comfortable & work well for walking - especially with the (optional) slightly thicker insole. The sizing varies a little but the website gives comprehensive guidance

I had a manufacturing defect on one shoe - service was excellent with a response to my email within 24 hrs and a replacement shipped to me within a couple of days.

Sizing inconsistent but otherwise great

I was recommended Freet by a family member who has bought most of her shoes from them for several years. Having considerably wider than average feet, shoes from most of the well known European and American barefoot brands are simply too narrow for me and most of my other barefoot shoes are from cheap generic Chinese brands as they are usually very generous in the width at least, even if the quality isn't the best.

I bought a pair of pace shoes and a pair of flex from Freet's website, sizing up one EU size in both of them. The pace were too small and narrow, I am not even sure whether two EU sizes up would be ok, so I haven't yet re-ordered them. This is a shame as I really loved the look of them and the pace are one of the styles that everyone recommends as a good all rounder. Thankfully the returns process was easy and a refund issued very quickly once the shoes were received and checked, in total it was only four working days from collection of the return package to refund.

I was worried the flex would be the same once received, but was happy to find that they fit perfectly in one EU size up, even with toe socks and toe spacers worn, and I wore them when out walking for several hours yesterday. They were very comfortable right out of the box, and apart from them slightly rubbing my heels initially, something which eased off during the course of my walk, I had no other issues. They are very nicely made and made of lovely quality materials and are one of the more stylish freet designs. Admittedly some of their styles are not very trendy looking and I know that can be off-putting for some.

I will definitely buy from freet again in the near future, but I do think the size discrepancy between different styles should be addressed, also the measurements given for all the different styles on the website are exactly the same for each shoe even though the website says to check the measurements for each shoe individually as these do vary. So if this could be fixed at some point it would be great.

Wear out too quick!

I got some Tundras.
After about 8 months of really light wear the sole was wearing low.
Because I'm a bit rubbish at getting around to things it was 4 months later before I contacted them, by which time the soles were pretty much worn out.
Customer Service were less helpful than you would hope. They sent a bit of a refund and sent a generic email about how the soles need to be flexible and therefore wear out quickly.
I've had barefoot footwear over 10 years and never had any wear out so quickly.
So yeah, really nice comfy shoes that last a year. Really disappointed.

Superb shoes and Customer services

I've been wearing Freet shoes for around 2 years now, starting with the Tundra and more recently the Flex. I have been so impressed with both shoes - they are comfortable, flexible, hard-wearing, and look great.

I had an issue with my first pair of Tundra's and they were immediately replaced without question.

The pricing is infinitely more competitive compared to the likes of Vivobarefoot et al and, in my experience, the products are superior but with less fancy marketing.
