Good experience

Good website, excellent support, nice discounts.
The website is not fullyclear about win of auctions, but if there's something wrong email assistance is ready and gives always good solutions or information.

I've been using FromJapan for about 2-3…

I've been using FromJapan for about 2-3 years now as a proxy service to buy mostly Tokusatsu goods and the occasional plush toys.

With weekly sales for the various services and the generous amount of coupons they give out, I've yet to find a better Proxy service than FromJapan.

The boxes are tightly and well-packed with the items securely fastened, I've yet to have a bad encounter with the packaging.

I've had my issues with items going missing or packages going missing entirely through the post, but the staff were very helpful and honest about my situation, even compensating me with FJ points alongside a refund.

FromJapan is an excellent proxy for what I use it for, and I often recommend it to any of my friends who also wish to buy Japan-Exclusive goods.

My order was returned, but I have not received a refund. I contacted customer service twice — after the second message, no one responded at all. This issue remains unresolved.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this situation has been frustrating, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

According to our records, we contacted you on September 25 regarding your shipment (Shipment No: 20142018 / UM437749985US). The package was returned to our U.S. Oregon warehouse after it entered Poland because it was not collected from the local post office within the required timeframe following a delivery attempt.

As stated in our previous email, when a package is returned due to non-collection, we are unfortunately unable to issue a refund, as collection from the post office is the recipient’s responsibility if delivery cannot be completed at the address. This is also consistent with international shipping carrier policies.

That said, we did inform you that the package is safely stored at our warehouse, and we are able to re-ship it to Poland upon payment of a new international shipping fee (Charge 2). We did not receive a reply to our previous message confirming whether you wished to proceed with re-shipment, which may have caused the impression that the matter was left unresolved.

If you would still like us to arrange re-shipment, or if you need us to resend the details, please contact our customer service team and we will be happy to assist promptly.

We sincerely regret any confusion or inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Satisfied with this site.

I won an auction about a month ago and received the item yesterday. The packaging was perfectly secure; there was no risk of the Cel being damaged. I'm very happy with this first experience.

I won a second auction on January 13th, which I will finalize soon.

This site was recommended to me, and frankly, I'm not disappointed. Customer service is responsive and replies very quickly.

Very satisfied with this site!

Great service overall

I've been using them consistently for a couple of years to order Japanese retro computers and consoles.

The service is consistently good with regular emails to tell you when storage deadlines are approaching and when items arrive.

In the last year they've improved the service with raising the free storage from 45 days to 60 days, and allowing saved searches which is fantastic. If they could implement an ending soonest for real time auctions that would be even better).

The only improvement would be in packaging. 95% of the time it's brilliant. However, in the last shipment I had damage in a SCSI enclosure and the front of an orange Gamecube. Before that I've also had a Casio Loopy damaged. Thankfully nothing high in value but I do worry when I open the box to see large amounts of space with no padding allowing items to move freely in transit. Thankfully this is not all the time.

Quite satisfied with this proxy

I appreciate the fact that this proxy offers more protection than its competitors, as they check the goods when they arrive at their warehouse (and they can send you an email if something is wrong). They also offer to place orders for you on lottery/gashapon sites and share the results with you, which is again something that not all other proxies do. The only major problem is that they ship in huge boxes, and shipping costs can be quite high.

Customer service is quite responsive.

I’ve used their services twice and each…

I’ve used their services twice and each time was so convenient. Purchasing Jpop/Kpop goods can be so frustrating at times, but it was seamless with them and I’m really happy. Will be utilizing their services much more in the future.

DDP ((Delivered Duty Paid) did not work and no help

Don't use One Map Fedex DDP ((Delivered Duty Paid) to ship your purchase. DO NOT PAY your duty upfront. It just didn't work. I ended up paying double the tax, once to One Map and again to Fedex, because Fedex will go after me even though I requested Fedex to rebill the sender. One Map and Fedex are totally disconnected and they both put responsibility on the customer to fix which I cannot. Too much trouble to use One Map by From Japan. Avoid.

Upon reviewing your account, it appears there has been a mix-up regarding your shipments.
The recent customs fee you were asked to pay was actually for an older shipment (Tracking: 514586042175).
This specific package was sent before our DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service was available, which is why FedEx issued a separate customs charge.
In fact, we introduced the DDP service precisely to prevent this exact issue from happening!

Regarding your recent DDP shipments (Tracking: 514586044693, 514586044580, and 514586041455), you should absolutely not have to pay customs fees twice. We haven't received any direct inquiries from you regarding these three specific packages yet, but if your local FedEx has incorrectly billed you for them, please let us help you fix it.

Please reach out to our Customer Service team with a copy of the payment receipt/proof of payment from FedEx for those three tracking numbers.
Once we have that, we will gladly refund the DDP fees you paid to us.

We are here to help and want to ensure this is resolved for you as quickly as possible.

Misleading practices and refusal to resolve issues

I’ve had one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever dealt with using FROM JAPAN.

Their website clearly advertises that FJ Points can be used for site payments and are equivalent to Japanese yen, with no clear disclosure anywhere that these points cannot be combined with other payment methods for auction bidding. I relied on this information when purchasing, only to be blocked at checkout and told after the fact that points couldn’t be used for auctions.

Customer support took far too long to respond, and during that delay the payment was forced through PayPal, causing me to incur significant currency conversion fees that could have been avoided. When I asked for compensation for fees caused entirely by their lack of disclosure and slow response, they refused.

To make matters worse, due to the incident above, shipping I had already paid for sat in “Queued for shipping” for over a week, while items in storage were about to expire. Because I couldn’t get a clear answer and had already been put at financial risk once, I was forced to take action on my own to protect myself.

I repeatedly attempted to resolve this situation directly and reasonably, explaining that I was treated unfairly due to their own lack of disclosure and delayed responses. Instead of acknowledging this or taking responsibility, my account was restricted and eventually permanently suspended after I filed disputes on the affected orders, and I was informed that all further communication would be forced through PayPal.

What is especially concerning is that this incident occurred several months ago, yet their website still has not been updated to clearly explain the FJ Points auction restriction. This shows a complete lack of accountability and suggests that other customers are likely still being misled in the same way.

This service feels predatory, poorly managed, and hostile toward customers who attempt to resolve legitimate issues. I spent a significant amount of money with them over several years and expected professionalism. Instead, I encountered misleading advertising, forced fees, shipping delays, and retaliation.

I strongly recommend avoiding this proxy service.

Favorite proxy service

From Japan is my favorite proxy service to use, and in my experience, they offer the fairest prices. I appreciate the feature that allows you to copy and paste the link of the item you want, and the FJ team will purchase it for you. It makes the process so much easier and helps me avoid other proxy services I’ve had bad experiences with (such as World Shopping). Customer service is also helpful and responsive. Jess was very kind and assisted me with my request. I would definitely use this proxy service again!

Consistently reliable service with responsive customer service. Notifications confirming your order, arrival and shipping are timely. When you have an enquiry their customer service do their best to help. There's a good range of shipping options for you to choose from. Its an all-in-all good service which you can rely on

Happy costumer!

After the discontinuation of tracked Airmail Small and with most Japanese proxy services completely removing this option, I decided to give your untracked Airmail Small service a try. I'm happy to say that my package arrived safe and sound, and it didn't take too long either. The service was very reliable, and I truly hope this untracked Airmail Small option continues to be available, as it's affordable and extremely helpful, especially since ePacket Light does not support my country.
