Unfortunate trade-in occurrence left feeling disappointed
I unfortunately have to write a negative review over my recent experience with GameStop. I will highlight first that the staff is and has always been very kind. However, this experience has left me feeling disappointed.
I went into my local GameStop store on Wednesday 20th April 2022 to trade in a game for another one from their trade list published online. The in-store representative, who was very kind, was unable to find the game on the system so the trade-in could not be performed. I then sent an email off to GameStop support service. I was told that the list was not current and that it had now been changed and that GameStop was sorry for any inconvenience caused.
I had gone out of my way on that particular day in order to get to that store to carry out the trade-in so I am particularly annoyed about the nonchalant response received. I expect GameStop to at least honour what was stated on their website, which was active when I had gone into the store. It is not fair for customers to make their way to a store and be the victim of misleading information published on the store's website.
As I have stated with a customer representative by email, the fault lies with the website team and I was expecting them to solve it. I have been let down by what has happened and it has tainted my mostly positive experience with GameStop thus far.

Fantastic Service
I went into the William St. shop in Limerick today to get a controller. I got helped out by Connor who was really nice and kind. He talked to me about the selection. The controller itself seems to be really well made and much sturdier than the last one I got off Amazon.

Mix up with next gen versions of tiny tina
Bought tiny Tina's wonderlands for Xbox series x on a business trip to Wexford for my son . I asked the young man was this for series x . He told me yes .. so off I went happy as Larry until my eagle eyed son noticed it wasn't the next gen version. After some research we found it definitely wasn't . Gearbox don't provide an upgrade path either for the disc version . So I got in contact with game stop dundrum where the manager a tall man with a bald head who pretty much looked exactly like me 🤣🤣 sorted out everything for me and apologized for the mix up . Lovely hassle free experience in GameStop dundrum . Thanks again

Great experience.
I normally pop in to my local branch in Dublin whenever I have to. I've always found it a chore, the place is dirty, the staff seldom offer help, it's a bit of a mess. However, I happened to be down in Carlow recently on a family break and I happened across your branch. Talk about chalk and cheese, it's like a different planet. Everything is clean, prices are obvious, the staff member on duty actually said hello to me!!!! We got chatting, he welcomed me to Carlow, advised a few things to do during my visit. Absolutely top class. The 5 star review is for Carlow.

My 11 years old son got a Google play gift card so he can top up his account . I told him to get the cheaper one . Turns out , the whole thing is a scam and GameStop is selling them . Shame on you GameStop . Selling a gift card , what is a scam . Google gift cards have a very low rating costumer service . My son wasted 25 euros in your business . So parents , I advice you , watch out . And you GameStop , you should get rid of those gift cards .
