This company is a complete joke

This company is a complete joke. DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH THEM. Zero accountability, no way to get a hold of anyone. They are a .CA yet their contact number is for the UK. The toll free number makes you wait listening to the most annoying loop recording ever!!

When the generic email replies to you, it tells you do all the ground work to figure out changes, then they don't do anything to fix it.

I don't understand how this company is in business!!!

Due to Corona Virus - Ticket Cancellation/ ticket credit for a year

28-Feb: Booked a flight for Vancouver-LA (Trip ID 5771587)
29-Feb: LA event cancelled based on WHO announcement on Corona Virus.
29-Feb: Sent cancellation request via GATE1 online form
1-Mar: Spoke with United Airline, they were willing to reserve ticket credit for a year provided GATE1 speaks with them as the ticket was booked through GATE1
1-Mar: Sent another request via GATE1 online form
7-Mar: received negative reply from Julie @ GATE1
7-Mar: replied to Julie explaining United Airline suggestion.
12-Mar: today is 12-Mar, no response received. My expectation is to keep the credit to be able to travel within a year as suggested by United Airlines. Hope to hear back from you. Thanks You.

Gate1 Cancelled Refund should be $ not credit towards another iffy trip

Gate 1 has not notified me of the cancellation of our trip Mar 28 but I picked it up on their website.
That said, the site is rather sanctimonious about a 'credit good for 18months' for the land package they cancelled.
SORRY, there should be a cash refund option available for these circumstances. They will likely qualify for Gov't assistance under the COVID19 benefits, so why should we be forced to try to find smthg else we might like to do with Gate1 in the next 18 months????
Not Impressed by their handling of this situation.

Gate1.ca SXSW, no help

Giving this site a 0 out of 5. Here's why

Used Gate1.ca to get a United Airline ticket back in late February, and paid an additional $5xx to amended the departure date sometime on March 2nd through Gate1, few days later SXSW got officially cancelled calling it a "state of disaster".

United Airlines is finally waving the change fees after 5 days after the officially cancellation announcement of SXSW, however Gate1's help is no where to be found or knowledgable about the situation in Austin or knows about United Airlines' updated waived change fee policy.

Gate1.ca is pathetic bulk buying airline travel agency. Even their UK +442039666385 is closed. Called their Canadian office, their hold "music" is annoying because its a women that repeats herself over and over and over, and when you talk to someone live they can't help you because they don't have the authorization to change tickets as that role is from another department that supposedly calls you to do the changes.

Prices seem cheap on Gate1 because they are bulk buying lower tier trash tickets from airlines.

Will take your money and not call you back

I've called several times. Every time I call you are either closed or experiencing a long delays. The same voice message goes over and over again for an hour at a time. I've emailed you through your complaint form I still have heard nothing. Worst customer service ever

Gate1 does exactly what they say on…

Gate1 does exactly what they say on their website and the email they sent me after ordering our airline tickets. I had ordered 2 airline tickets, the prices were very good compare to others at the same time. Due to Corona virus I decided to cancel our trip, Gate1 canceled for us easily, of course we paid cancellation fee to airline and it makes sense and reasonable. We are happy with it. Will go with Gate1 again for anything relating to travel.
When order online with Gate1 remember just read and follow their email.

Tried to change my flight took them 4…

Tried to change my flight took them 4 days to get back to me the emergency hotline is closed weekends had to take the original flight and move my return. Tried changing it with the airline you cant it's got to be done with gate1. When I did the change fee is double than it would be through the airline its 375 dollars. Use a airline less hassle not a 3rd party booking company

Nearly impossible to contact anyone or get support

Happy that the flights were in place, but it is nearly impossible to contact anyone ... email response seems like primary contact method and though it states a response within 5 business days but is much longer.

Couldn’t call in to confirm my reservation code for a specific leg.

Will never book with you again

Right after booking my ticket with Air New Zealand I was sent a ticket with United airlines. I have had terrible experiences with them in the past and I would’ve never booked with that airline. And of course there was an issue and our flight was delayed and we missed it. Days went by and No one got back to me .. even though I created a ticket with Gate 1 minutes after I booked online.
I will never book with Gate 1 again!
