Despite the delay made on our application's study (study has taken 8 weeks), Shazia ESSA, our financial adviser, has given a great support to catch up the timing, and has taken the time to explain the process and the next steps very well to us. She has also managed to submit our application the same day as the application's call, considering our urgent case.

She has also shared a valuable advices at our first call, such as the list of the solicitors dealing with the Islamic banks process, which was really useful to us.

We would highly recommand Shazia as a financial adviser.You can work with her with your eyes closed.

Just 2 advices from our experience: make sure your solicitor has the experience with the Islamic banks, and if you are in a rush to buy, Gatehouse is not the best for the quick purchase, as they can take till 16 weeks to complete your application, which could be risky for your purchase, if you have a short duration target.

We received an exceptional service from Suzette. From start to finish, she was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the mortgage process. I had the pleasure of working with Suzette throughout the application process, and I can confidently say it was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. This was our first time navigating a mortgage and working with Gatehouse, and Suzette was nothing short of amazing! They won't let you withdraw you money without jumping through hoops, putting you on hold for hours at length, asking you to do a rain dance for them, etc. I'm still waiting.

I am a first time buyer and considered Islamic Home Purchase Plan for religious reasons. There are very limited providers in this space and with Gatehouse being the cheaper alternative, I proceeded with doing the DIP application online. After having an offer accepted on a house, I submitted all the documents and was put through to Ary Jaff who was the advisor throughout the application process. He was very helpful in clarifying all of my questions as well as very proactive in issuing a successful finance offer. The process now moves on to the bank's solicitors with whom I hope to have the same experience and look forward to a successful purchase of the property.

Shabz Essa was amazing and she talked us through the process of applying for HPP as we move away from conventional riba based mortgages.

This bank claim to efficiently provide Islamic mortgage.
It is far from efficient.
It takes interest which it disguise as rent and aquisition fee. This is more costly than a costly conventional mortgage. Please do not get fooled that this is Islamic mortgage

The bank took over 6 months to only ever keep asking if I still want to apply for a mortage and never actually speak with an under-writer.

They're so unhelpful and unprofessional. I decided to cancel my application!

I did my HPP application call yesterday with Ms. Rana Faza, the bank’s home finance advisor, and was impressed by her diligence, supportive and friendly attitude, and grateful that she answered my queries and went through the different finance options that matched my priorities. I felt she was “on my side” in the process. Also I gained a better understanding of what Shariah Compliant model was being used. Thank you.

Don’t bother using them OakNorth is better

I opened a savings account with this bank in February 2024.

During 2024 I had a few personal difficulties and had too move around a bit. Because of this I needed to change my address a few times in order to keep my account safe. It’s seems as though Gatehouse gets upset with customers who experience difficulties and with those who need to change their address more than once. They refused to take any further payments from me and have now stolen the savings, that I have with them. I can not withdraw my funds.

If I am able to provide transaction dates, security answers, email address and current address what is the problem?

I will be giving them a call tomorrow and will not hesitate to visit them and call the police while I am there.
