I emailed twice with no response to ship my gold. I waited two weeks and decided to call. I was quoted shipment costs of $1,000. A week later I asked for an update and got another quote for $3,400. Big difference. I asked them cancel the shipment until I decide to sell and have not heard back.

The pricing discrepancy from $1,000 to $3,400 reflects different shipping methods (the higher cost is for armored transport required for high-value shipments). However, that should have been clearly explained upfront, not discovered through conflicting quotes.

Good experience with Hard Assets
I have been able to control my purchases and sales efficiently. The website is easy to maneuver. I like the storage relationship with Brinks and the ease and speed of closing transactions. I had some of my PM mailed to me and they arrived on time and I was pleased with the product delivered.

Straightforward
For non-IRA account: Prices and cost are clear, support is prompt and knowledgeable.
But, based on experience several years ago: their IRA partner is awful -- I would not have anything to do with that organization.
