Student dentists that give service of a professional Dentist.
Since 2020 and the COVID issue, I was without a dentist. The only way I was offered dentistry by the NHS was to have my teeth pulled. Then I called Genix Healthcare in Blackpool, I was sent a message to call them, which I did, my wife and I were put on their books, and the rest is history. My teeth were in a bad way because I had not had a dentist for 4 years and the problems I had worsened, but Genix were able to sort everything. I was amazed at the professionalism of their 4th year student and nurses, supervised by Mr Bradley. They literally were able to complete procedures that a professional dentist would have done, the only difference is that because they are students, they go that little bit further to make sure everything is perfect. I must also mention the reception staff, who have always been very accommodating and professional, ever time I attended I was greeted with my first name. These are the best dentists I have ever had, I cannot recommend them enough if you are lucky enough to get onto their books. 100% satisfaction is their goal.

I visited the dentist for the first time in a few years due to my bad mental health, the dentist knew that I was on medication for anxiety and depression yet he made the whole experience awful for me. He was so rude, he lectured me, when I tried to talk he loudly talked over me, he huffed like I was an inconvenience to him. The only good point was the lovely staff on reception. He didn't tell me anything, one of the ladies printed out my paperwork and went through it with me. I left upset and not wanting to return, I couldn't have had a worse visit.

As a new NHS patient I was extremely nervous coming in for a check up - I have a strong gag reflex too - I explained this too the dentist and also about a technique I had used with a previous dentist- the dentist was very patient with me and also his assistant - although not a pleasant experience they both helped me immensely to get through it.

Would totally recommend Genix to all.
We left our previous dentist who we had been with for over 20 yrs when they decided to kick our son off their NHS books even though he was still in full time education. I then had a problem with a cracked tooth and looked the options in Morpeth and Alnwick. Genix Healthcare came up in the options and I was able to book in within a couple of days and get my tooth sorted by a very capable young dentist. The whole team at Genix were friendly and helpful so we have decided to join them as private patients and I am not disappointed that our previous dentist in Morpeth will no longer have our custom as we never felt valued even if we had a problem they were never helpful to fit us in to be seen.

Horrendous experience
I went for a routine check up. The dentist put his hands in my mouth and they didn't smell clean. Not sure if he was wearing gloves or not? The smell was awful even before he did anything. My teeth were fine and he said I had a bit of build up that he would remove. He was very heavy handed and all I can say is it was excruciating. I have had dental surgery in the past which was much less painful. I thought I was going to choke with the amount of water in my mouth at one point, even though the assistant was using a suction tool. I was gagging and choking and my mouth was full of blood. I was asked to rinse with clear fluid and it came out red. He said my gums would probably bleed for a few days and be tender. This is not normal. I am 70 years old and have never had such an awful experience. I won't be going back.
