HERE'S WHY....
I bought return tickets from GetByBus from Trogir to Zagreb for Last Saturday 28th May / return Wednesday 1st June.
On Saturday morning at 5.30 am when boarding, the driver could not register the QR code on my GetByBus app. Despite showing him my valid ticket he would not let me board without paying cash for another ticket. I was quite stressed as this was the only bus available to get me to the airport in Zagreb later that day (a 5-hour Journey)
I handed over the cash (he wouldn't accept a card) The driver told me they did not provide paper receipts. However, I insisted on some kind of proof as I wanted to get my money back. He showed me a receipt on his phone which I took a photo of. I thought this was strange at the time but I guessed this was normal procedure.
A day later I emailed GetByBus, provided all the information they requested including the photo of the receipt, and fully expected to receive a refund.
However, on investigation, the driver denied this incident happened or that he forced me to buy another ticket.
GetByBus told me I could not have a refund and there was nothing else they could do as they are only intermediaries.
I was shocked and disgusted by this response. I could not actually believe it.
On my return Journey, Wednesday 1st June my QR code again didn't work but in this case, the driver accepted the valid ticket and allowed me to board.
Not only did my GetByBus QR codes not work a driver stole my money, denied it and GetByBus have taken no responsibility or support in pursuing it.

Bad service. We were late to the flight because the bus came late to the station. When we asked to get of the bus a little bit earlier then final station to get a taxi to airport and not go to the city center with a lot of traffic, we weren’t allowed to do that. At the same time they allowed to get of the bus earlier another passenger, that has with him his luggage on board.

I bought a return ticket from Split to Podgora and was late both ways 30minutes and more, bought AGAIN ticket from Makarska to Split and AGAIN late more than 30 minute, horrible drivers, always late, driver is on the phone while driving!!!!

This is so far the worst platform I have ever used to book a ticket. I bought a ticket relation Vienna-Sarajevo, with one change in Zagreb. Since the bus from Vienna arrived later then planned in Zagreb, the other bus company did not want to wait for the passengers and we were all left with no other option to continue our trip, which costed us money and time. The information on Getbybus website are not updated even in these hard pandemic times, and whatever you book there will either be false or not organized well enough. If you want to travel without stress and extra unnecessary cost, I strongly advise to choose another platform!

I'd never had any problems with this company, I recently had to cancel a journey with them and get a refund, minus the fee. I was impressed by the speed and professionalism that this was dealt with, if only other companies could be so easy to deal with.

Very good experience. I do not think that Getbybus has anything to do with Bus company experience, which are something completely different and has to do with a bus company itself.
Customer service is easy to reach and girls that work there are very polite.

What a complete mess. Bought a ticket Banja Luka - Jajce but the Bus came 2 hours later without notification. Actually the bus that I booked didn’t even come and nobody on the station had a clue. Gave it nonetheless another chance for a ride to Mostar but the app broke several time down due the paying progress. I‘ll try it the old school Balkan way by giving the driver some cash.

I reviewed this site before I made a purchase using Getbybus, and I will say I was a bit nervous. But I couldn't find any other options besides booking the buses in person, which I didn't want to do. I ended up just doing it. I was pleasantly surprised with the results! I booked two trips (Banja Luka to Mostar and back). There were no delays and the buses were very comfortable! The only negative I could find was that the bus drivers spoke no English, but all good. All in all, I was very happy with everything. I would recommend going forward!

I must write something in defence of GetbyBus because I used them multiple times and every time I was completely satisfied. Their customer service is amazing. When I needed to rebook my ticket to another day, they responded within minutes with a new ticket.
It seems that a lot of people don't even know what "GetbyBus" is or how does it work. It is pretty much like Booking or Tripadvisor, except for bus travel.
They give 1 star rating because of terrible Croatian bus companies like notoriously bad Črnja Tours not picking up passengers with valid tickets because they sold more tickets than they have seats, which is just one of many things Črnja Tours has been doing for years. I do wonder how they are still in business.
It would be just like giving 1 star rating to Booking because you picked a terrible hotel. Research more about bus companies before picking the first one just because it's cheap

We booked the bus from Split to Zagreb and Zagreb to Ljubljana through Getbybus. But the first one was late and arrived at Zagreb after the secound departure time. So we couldn't get on the secound one.
I asked for Getbybus about the refund, but they told me that my connection in Zagreb was not influenced by the delay, so they can't refund.
I'll never use this service.

First of all, we had to wait for 1h and nobody gave us any reason for this delay. Besides, once the bus got the station we were asked to pay extracharge, precisely 10kunas for each piece of luggage. In addition to that, the air conditioning didnt work properly and taking into consideration we were in summer, this made the trip (5h trip) unbearable. Some drops of water even fell over us and the worst thing was the driver and the assistant driver attitude who were so rude and careless about our complaints.

Never book through Getbybus or the bus company Črnja tours. Just pay a little more to get Flixbus.
I booked a seat of a last departure of Črnja tours from Salzburg to Munich. I waited at the station for 30mins then I decided to book the last flixbus right away or I might need to stay overnight in Salzburg. I complained to Getbybus and they said the bus was late for 1 hour 15 mins. However, they are not refunding me because the company bares no responsibility if the delay is less than 2 hour.
