Fraudulent direct debits

I signed up to the Glass Bob site sometime in 2021, and quickly abandoned using it, as they kept on pushing me to subscribe.
I found out today (12/09/24) that £15 was taken from my account. I checked my bank account and saw that there were NO previous transactions listed under Glass Bob. I wasn't even aware I was subscribed to them. I also spoke to a member of the fraud investigation team of my of my bank, who have also confirmed that there is NO record of any transactions with Glass Bob!
This is blatant fraud, and they have unlawfully taken money out of my account. How they got my bank details is also something I may involve the police in, as I certainly didn't give them any bank details!
They only thing I require of them is to return the money they have essentially stolen!

Glassbob con?

Just signed up also to this site.
Soon as I try to contact another swapper, I'm asked to upgrade to premium.
Supposed to be free unless you want to pay for a few bells and whistles?

Only just signed up

Only just signed up, but already you can tell it's only about making money. There's no way to only allow certain criteria to message, by that I mean if you are lucky enough to have a house, and you are not interested in moving back into a flat, then surely flats shouldn't come up otherwise it's just wasteing time answering people's messages if they can't be bothered to rest my ad what explains what I am after. Also, people have within a certain distance and then tell you yours is too far away? Unbelievable.

My god this site need to change the way people can swap 2 years and 1 responce people read message just ignore it. Even though it the area ,type of property they want. Glassbob should set up rules no redponcevthen be removed. Its not free I'm paying for a service and not getting the service I'm paying for not even regular matches. One of the worst sites after homeswap.

Glassbob is grate

Seems to be really useful and easy to use , the users are the problems they will go all the way including both views of houses sign papers then pull out last minute and some simply never reply again it's a joke but the actual place it's self is grate have had two successful swaps with glassbob.

I dont think this is a legitimate website.
Looking up other websites I found the same houses same pictures but different names and different descriptions. I emailed and sent text messages to over 10 people day one and have not heard a peep back not one. Baring in mind I have exactly what these people are looking for. I wouldn't waste your time I've just deleted my account and wouldn't put it past them to keep my details on there to pull more people in. These websites don't charge very much so it becomes very easy for people to forget they have direct debits with them and it soon adds up. Don't bother honestly just go on the gov house exchange atleast that one is legitimate

4x council exchange

Ok from start to finish we did a 4x way swap. As for glass bob it was simple no messing simple to work out and easy to contact people. The one little thing I will say is please check the home you’re going to move too get more detail. We moved in September and omg I was heart broken the people had pulled down all the fitted blinds. And the carpets from the stairs. Damaged all the down stairs walls with moving furniture. And the most heart breaking was the filth I had to move in. Then the house had fitted cooker to my find never been cleaned and had maggots. So please be careful. This was no fault of glassbob.
I just feel this may help someone with a true review.

Before the new update and new layout of…

Before the new update and new layout of messages, I can't access my messages, majority of past messages have disappeared like what?!
Doesn't always load when on the website.
Many issues before is this update that you need to fix is the users.
I'm in social housing, we all are on this site... People want the area you have but if your home isn't decorated etc, it's a no.
People say only council like seriously..... move to a home you like... not difficult as its difficult for anyone wanting to move and they will be stuck for ages looking.
I do think when asking home you want, you need to ask questions like will you take an undecorated home or home that needs DIY? Would you consider a multiswap? If so what's your max or if no max put any... as many people dismiss swaps or say max 4 way but uts difficult when all you need is 1 more person and swap is ready.
What people need to understand when a multiswap is offered is you only worry about the person moving into your home and the home you're moving into, that's it.
It should be the same for homeswapper etc.
Your multiswaps are so much more better than honeswapper, but I do think adding example 2 bed Warwickshire looking for 3 bed Dorset as this will help search better. Instead of looking at all properties in an area where don't want area you have available.

Also what I've noticed, when I know the house I want, I want to do a multiswap, says no matches so can't be added... but I do think that needs to change as she wants same area she wants... surely multiswap is more than 2 people but not limited to 3 people? This annoys me so much.

Seems to be alright

Seems to be alright, think a lot of problems are with the users, everyone's wanting a palace. An awful lot of people will happily ignore your messages and still able to use the website. There should be some policies in place for users, as so many on there are just time wasters, I really don't understand why there on there. I was paying for premium so I could contact people but really not much point.

Fine site, users problematic

I successfully swapped my London flat using glassbob after many years of no joy using homeswapper. The problems with swapping are not the apps or sites, it's the users and their motivations, particularly London-based ones. Many have totally unrealistic expectations and vast majority want to swap "up" for a house or something bigger.... You also get a lot of people who are on there but aren't serious or actually mobile enough to move. Again, wasting time. The only thing I will say is that inactive accounts should be flagged in results so you don't waste time messaging people. I sent out about 20-30 messages. About 60% left unread after a period of more than 3 or 4 months.

It's so annoying when searching they should design it for people who are looking for a 3 bed or two bed ect you have to go into advert scroll all the way down to find out what they are looking for waste of time. As they are not looking for what you have got. They could make it easier. Also so many don't even respond bearing in mind I have paid to use this site. Need updating to say the least.
