This company sucks
This company sucks. I was quoted $8300 for a move but when they came to pack it was $14700. I paid them to back it and my things arrived today- antique metal lamp snapped, tv cracked, artwork broken and destroyed. My e-bike twisted. I have barely begun to unpack and this is my 9th cross country or international move in my life. I have never been charged so much with such crappy service and results. Do not use Golden Gate Relocation. Criminals.

Don’t work with this company
Don’t work with this company, dishonest broker. An hour before the job was done he gave me a verbal quote of 6500$ less than an hour later the price changed to 10000$.

Please do not trust these guys
Unfortunately, despite paying for professional packers, the majority of my items were delivered late and damaged beyond use. The company refused to refund anything and the insurance money offered didn't even begin to cover a single item. Lamps were broken, Elfa carts destroyed, a couch destroyed, Simple Human and Kohler garbage cans and dog food bins unoperaable due to the damage, etc. Please do not trust them.

NOT A GOOD PROVIDER
NOT A GOOD PROVIDER. AVOID THEM.LOOK AT GGR'S RESPONSE TO ME OF JUNE 14, 2024. THEY TOLD ME MY MOVE WAS UNDER-INSURED, AND SO WHEN THEY RUINED ALL MY DAUGHTER'S STUFF ON THE MOVE, THEY OFFERED ME $500 TO SETTLE. I SUED IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT IN SAN MATEO COUNTY AND WON A JUDGMENT OF $3,400. THEY HAVE NOT PAID IT YET. GGR? WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO SEND ME MY CHECK FOR $3400. YOU CLAIMED YOU'VE NEVER LOST IN A SMALL CLAIMS CASE. WELL, YOU'RE NOW 0 FOR 1 IN MY CASE. PLEASE REPLY SO EVERYONE CAN KNOW HOW YOU ARE GOING TO HANDLE THIS.
Seamless moving process
I had an emergency move due to the fact that I just was hired at a new company based in Massachusetts. I had to find a long distance mover fast so after searching high and low, I came across Golden Gate relocations. Of course I read the reviews and fact checked the company before deciding to use them. I spoke to a young lady named Gabby, that helped me understand exactly what was going to happen from beginning to end. I couldn’t be more happy with how seamless the moving process was because of this company! I would definitely use this company in the future and recommend this company.

Don’t you love GGR’s responses to all these very valid complaints!?? What a terrible company. They are not a good company and good luck finding the owner or whomever owns it. Gary somebody? I won a small claims suit against them for a judgment of $3400. Have not seen a penny because you can’t find them. They are not honest. If they were they would on this site give me the name of the person I serve with the judgment papers so I can collect my award from the court!! Whitney ? Want to provide the info now???
The price was $3000 more than the quote…
The price was $3000 more than the quote that was given to me and I thought I did my due diligence but they have this measuring system and I had a 40 foot container filled with items that I talked with the representative and felt very assured, the whole container would be emptied and then some The truck wasn’t even a quarter full and the price started going up. This is absolutely ridiculous and I’ll never ever use a moving company again. When I tried to call the representative back, no answer when whenever prior to completing the deal I got calls almost every day. Her supervisor called explained the process that she’s no longer connected once the truck arrives here blah blah blah just ridiculous. It’s way too complicated and I paid for it. 0

Don't do long-distance moves with this company.
I thought the quote was fair and they were willing to work with me in the beginning, however when I got to the other end of my move I realized they are dishonest ( or at least hiring dishonest workers). About a third of my things were missing or broken. Of that 1/3, the more expensive items were the things that were missing. Boxes had been gone through. Along with my missing items was a box of paperwork. So now they won't honor my claim because I don't have receipts. I filed Claims for broken items as well as missing items but was totally blown off. All I can say is stay far away from this company.

Avoid and do NOT sign with GGR under any circumstance
Updated post after GGR response: Before posting here, I completed claim and gave GGR every chance to resolve. I also provided Trustpilot with my GGR client reference data so they know this is a legit review... Trusting that this moving company was a legitimate service provider was, without a doubt, one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. The blame for everything ends with me and my misplaced trust and stupidity. I thought I "did my research" and ignored the worst reviews online because there were more positive than negative reviews online. I can't prove it, of course, but I've come to believe that all the positive reviews online about this company are fake. I ignored the big red flag with the very first financial transaction when I tried to pay the initial cash deposit for the move, and my bank blocked the Zelle transaction. I stupidly ignored this red flag and paid it with a credit card +7% fee because I just wanted to "book the move" after all the stress of getting the many quotes, and time was running out to book the move. The sales rep "M," who, after a few phone conversations, I came to trust, assured me that the problem was my bank. She also convinced me with her "soft" and very carefully worded delivery estimate of delivery within the 0-6 business days outlined in their "BOL," as well as with her initial "estimate" of the cubic feet used to determine the quoted charge was correct to the best of her ability. On the day of the move, the driver arrived very late in the evening and, after loading 75% of my goods, informed me that "M" 's estimate was wrong (blaming me for not explaining things to her correctly) and that he would have to upcharge me by about 75% (thousands) more than the initial quote. What was I supposed to do? I had no frame of reference to refute his revised cost; I had to be out of the house the next day and had no means to get another mover contracted. I mistakenly believed I could work this out with GGR before delivery and final payment. I signed the revised estimate believing they would work with me. I could not have been more wrong. The only other option was to have them unload the truck, and I would lose the deposit. Like so many others I've now read about here and on other sites, this is the situation they counted on me to be in, and I was their mark all along. As they have painfully reminded me in the end, I did sign that revised estimate. This is what they count on. They know this, and I should have known better.
Then, after not hearing anything for days that turned into weeks, waiting for our delivery, that "0-6 business day" delivery quote became an "estimated" delivery window, and I was referred to the fine print in the BOL reminding me that actual binding commitment for delivery was 30 business days, not 0-6. They ghosted me; I called, texted, emailed, left messages, and finally thought I had an empathetic phone and text "relationship" with their customer service supervisor, "W," who, like every other employee of this scam group, very carefully chose her words not to commit to anything until the day she called me three weeks later and told me I needed to get a cash amount, a ransom really, to pay a driver the revised amount that I "signed for" (I know, I know I did sign). "W" was my most significant personal disappointment because I believed her to be empathetic and genuine in her efforts to help me complete my delivery. I now know, since she's the one who sent me a final email reminding me that they made no mistake and that I signed the revised estimate, that even she was part of the scam. She was careful not to promise me anything, and after reviewing her dozens of text messages with me, I saw that every word she said was highly scripted and very careful to protect GGR. I know this now, but I don't know how she tells herself she helps people as a customer service professional. She was as much a scammer as the owner of this business.
This is their business model - underquote, overcharge, deliver much later than estimated, hold for ransom, and then show up with no tools to assemble and hope their claims process for their horrible work wears you down. I have picture proof that the revised charged amount was incorrect. I can tell a horror story about the delivery with an untrained, unprofessional crew who showed up to deliver with no tools!
I consulted with an attorney and was told that with my evidence, I would likely win a small claims lawsuit for this overcharge and failure to perform all services promised. However, I can see in other reviews that some people have gone through that process and won, but the final judgments were never paid. That is the final part of their "business model." I own this mistake, which left my family traumatized as we weren't sure we were going to get our things back. If this review stops just one person, then the time is worth it

unprofessional and poor performance
this is an unprofessional, overcharging, just-after-your-money moving - more like throwing around - company. They damaged 2 TVs, folded a mattress and broke numerous light fixturesm- all not usable anymore and, lost or stole some boxes (all my tools are missing) and did not help with unpacking or basic furniture assembly. poor performance. Use at your own risk. Poor value and disastrous results. I truly wish I had not called them. Find someone else and steer clear from these criminals.

They stole our belongings!
Don’t use them!! They moved our home from across the country, well some of it. They literally went shopping through our belongings. My wedding ring is gone, new shoes still in the box, my mom’s old platter worth little money, and so much more. One box of clothing was ransacked and they left things turned inside out. We reported all the broken and stolen items including a 55 inch tv. We filled out their fake claims information and was offered a whopping $119 to compensate our losses. Don’t trust them!!!!

We are already disappointed with the price bait and switch. Now I am worried I will not get my belongings as promised. This is typical of these crooked moving companies. We were assured in writing that it would not increase. They were very quick to add 50%.

Golden gate was amazing.
They had fair pricing , no hidden fees on the delivery .The management team addressed and handled all my concerns in a timely manner. The actual owner personally called me to reassure me that the few small issues would be handled and they were the next day.
The move out team took special care with the packing and padding of my furniture .Nothing was lost or misplaced.
Please don’t look any farther.
