I was looking for a property to rent . saw 3 with Goodchilds two were riddled damp - the third was reasonable but needed some repairs before habitable.Disgusted that a big company like Goodchilds would try to rent properties with so many problems they should insist on a basic standard from the landlords as they charge such huge admin fees!
I listed the repairs- some of which were legally required ie working fire alarms, carbon monoxide detector as had sold fuel fire, electric check, two broken windows, back door not opening, front door lock not working, no hand rail on stairs and garden full of broken slabs loose floorboards in bedroom, sealant black with mould around shower. The letting agent said 'normally tenants don't check' she informed that the landlord probably wouldn't bother with these items! The company should be ashamed to try to rent out such properties,

Not much to say about Goodchilds. Just be prepared to do most the leg work yourself, if you're going buy a property through them. Anything they say on a viewing take with a pinch of salt, don't expect them to be honest.

A flat I was interested in buying they advertised as 'fully refurbished'. When I get there the property needs completely re-furbishing.

They well and truly are the 'Personification of incompetence'...!!!

Rent a property from goodchilds had nothing but hassle from them since they took over
Been left without heating for over 3 weeks this month whilst we had snow! Now left with no hot water
They couldn't care less doing nothing to fix the problem and breaking there tenancy agreement may I add!!!
There customer service is appalling
Manager won't return calls or emails
Absolute joke of an estate agents
Do not use!!!!!!

Tenants are worse treated by then DO NOT BELIEVE FAKE POSITIVE REVIEWS FROM SO CALLED TENANTS ON ANY REVIEW SITE! Unless it's negative.
First off they have hidden fees in contracts.
Rude staff.
Even the simplest of repairs never get fixed.
Argued about broken boiler for months I ended up leaving.. To find they wanted to charge me for moving out after that they wanted to charge silly prices for stains on curtains that was done by last people. Stains in cooker again last people.
Grubby carpets.. Yup guessed again last people. I was forced to give almost all my deposit to these robbing (!!bites tong!!)
Do not use at all they look after them selves by ripping off the tenants.

That's why you see tons of good child's on right move people have learnt what type of people they are and stay clear!!

Listen to my advice and use other people!
I'm not the only one to be conned by these recently!

Goodchilds managed my property. The first two tennants were ok and all went well.
The next set of tenants trashed the property, and as it happens Goodchilds had not taken any references for them. They then would not give me the deposit to repair the property, instead using it to do a couple of jobs (badly) to make the property somewhat habitable again. Whenever I contacted them with a concern it was never dealt with, and I was promised that someone would call me back on several occasions but they never did.
Not surprisingly then, the branch managing my property went into liquidation. The head office is supposedly taking over management of the property and helping out with any concerns, but so far they have done nothing to help me, and keep brushing me off and telling me to call the liquidators instead. They haven't even collected any rent from the tenants.
As soon as the situation is over and I am paid the money that I am owed I will be extremely happy to be rid of Goodchilds, they have been nothing but unhelpful trouble.

I recently used Goodchilds Brownhills to handle the sale of my house and not only did they achieve the price i wanted they also handled the sale extremely efficiently. I work away a lot and cannot easily be contacted but Anisa managed to keep me upto date and also went above and beyond to make sure all the paperwork was sorted even though i was not exactly very helpfull at times (sorry Anisa).
I can honestly say that i am super impressed with the team at Goodchilds and would recommend them to anyone thinking of selling their house.

Although the property I am purchasing is not with Goodchilds, I spoke with Jordan and Erin on many occasions who both kept me up to date with properties that came available. They hand selected and found properties that were detailed to what I was looking for. I'm really happy with the service Goodchilds have provided and wished the one I'm currently buying was through them. If ever I decide to sell in the future, I will defiantly like to use this company!

I dealt with Luke in the Wolverhampton office who has been great since day one. I had my weekly call of his team and did what they promised.
I was on with multiply agents and tried just putting it online but i was having no joy. I came to Goodchilds from a recommendation and i'm glad i did. I would just like to say thank you to the team and that i will be recommending you to anyone that asks.

From the initial meeting with Martin we have had excellent service with regular updates and all the staff were very helpful with every aspect of the sale. This was especially important to me as I live abroad.

I found a nice cheap furnished flat on zoopla that Goodchilds Wolverhampton were advertising, I kept phoning many times to speak to an agent, the operator said they were all busy and someone would call me back, and they did not call me back..I was desperate to view this flat at the pinnacle in Willenhall and I eventually got an appointment for 2 days time, I said what happens if someone else comes along and wants it, the person on the phone said we are the next to view, so i finished the conversation happy that we would get this flat...The next day i phoned to confirm our appointment and they said yes all booked and they would phone us at 9am on the day of the appointment. They did not phone so I phoned and they said someone had gone to the office and put a deposit down without viewing and without a care for my appointment to view, the deal was sealed to someone else who had the cash without viewing. I was annoyed because they did not tell us, so we would have had a wasted journey...I have asked for many call backs with no luck, very unprofessional and even when i phoned someone else just to double check this flat had gone they said no its still available, I said WHHAAAT....I was just told its gone, they said please wait while i check, and yes they did say it had gone, and they also said we have more flats available and I said I would go elsewhere and not deal with goodchilds...absolutley the worst agent I have ever dealt with...a nightmare to get to speak with someone, very unreliable and with no respect for tenants
