Grand Sapphire arranged the wedding…

Grand Sapphire arranged the wedding reception of our son on 10 May 2026 at North Mymms park.
I am delighted to provide a review of their services which were just extraordinarily good. From the pre planning to the execution Naumann & his team are so good that I am at loss to describe the experience we have had with them. Everything that they were asked to provide they did it with a smile & at the highest quality. Wedding reception are remembered for the food. The canapés, starters & the main course were spotless. The deserts were at a totally different level of excellent taste & our guests were spoilt for choice.
We are thankful to Grand Sapphire & the entire team & would strongly recommend them.
Sulaiman, Naumann, Farhan & their entire team are true magicians when it comes to arranging & executing weddings receptions.

We booked Grand Sapphire for my daughter’s wedding

We booked Grand Sapphire for our daughter’s wedding, and we are absolutely delighted with the service we received.
As we were planning a fully segregated wedding, it was very important for us to have separate arrangements for the men’s and ladies’ events. We booked two halls, and Grand Sapphire accommodated all our requirements perfectly. They arranged everything we requested for the ladies’ side, including a female DJ, fog effects, female photographers, and videographers. Every detail was handled professionally, allowing our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy the celebrations.
A very special thank you to Bushra, who supported us throughout the entire planning process. She was always approachable, patient, and attentive to our needs. She listened carefully to all our requests, offered helpful advice, and made sure every aspect of the wedding was organised exactly as we wanted. Her cooperation and dedication gave us complete peace of mind.
We would also like to give special recognition to Zara, who looked after us so wonderfully on the day of the event. She was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Zara was always there whenever we needed anything, making sure everything ran smoothly and taking care of every detail behind the scenes. Her calm manner, hard work, and genuine care made a huge difference to our experience. As the mother of the bride, it meant so much to know that someone was looking after everything and ensuring the day went perfectly.
The venue looked beautiful, the organisation was excellent, and the entire team worked hard to make our daughter’s wedding a truly memorable occasion. We are so grateful to Bushra, Zara, and the whole Grand Sapphire team for helping us create such wonderful memories.
We highly recommend Grand Sapphire to anyone looking for a professional, accommodating, and well-organised wedding venue.

I had an amazing time at Grand Sapphire! I stayed for two nights for a wedding and the service was 10/10. The rooms were spotless, and the staff were so helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I’d definitely stay here again.

Great service

Spent 7 nights at Grand sapphire hotel, overall good experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the worst, but it could’ve been better.

CANCELLED MY EVENT

This review is regarding the cancellation of the Christmas Party for the Reform Party on 4th December 2025.

I bought a ticket and booked a hotel room for the night so I could really have a great time at the event.

Unfortunately the event was cancelled the day before I was due to leave and my hotel room was still booked.

When I telephoned the Sapphire Hotel to ask why the event was cancelled, I was fobbed off, question evaded and was not given a reasonable explanation.

I struggled to get my money back because the hotel said that it was because of circumstances beyond their control that caused the cancellation of the Party, which was a LIE, it was an internal management decision.

Did the hotel cancel the Reform UK party because they are racist against white people?

Since I have started my investigation into what happened to my night out, it shows that my suspicions were actually TRUE.

DO NOT book any rooms or events at the Sapphire Hotel, because they do not look after their business or guests.

Shockingly bad stay at the Grand…

Shockingly bad stay at the Grand Sapphire, Croydon

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience at the Grand Sapphire was that bad. From the moment I arrived, it was one disappointment after another. The place might look grand in pictures, but in reality it felt tired, poorly managed, and absolutely not worth the money.

The staff seemed disinterested and overwhelmed, extremely rude and getting any kind of help felt like an inconvenience to them. The room was a complete let-down — worn furniture, questionable cleanliness, and a general feeling that it hadn’t been properly maintained for ages. Even basic standards just weren’t there.

Noise was another nightmare. Whether it was doors slamming, people shouting in the hallways, or general chaos, getting a decent night’s sleep was impossible. And let’s not even start on the so-called “amenities” — half of them didn’t work, and the ones that did felt like afterthoughts.

Food was disappointing, could see some staff spitting, that alone put me off eating the rest of my dinner!

Overall, it was a shocking experience from start to finish. I left exhausted, irritated, and wishing I’d stayed literally anywhere else. Definitely not somewhere I’d return to or recommend

Hotel from Hell!!

I had the displeasure of staying for I night when I had originally booked for the week.
I checked into what was supposed to be one of their VIP rooms... it definitely wasn't! I noticed a horrible smell in the room, and, on checking, I discovered that the mattress topper was filthy and stained with urine, and there were black hairs (not mine) all over it.
It was, by far, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in... never to want to go there again!
Thank goodness for the Premier Inn across the road.
As other reviewers have said - if it was possible to give zero stars, I would.
Please avoid staying here

If I could give zero stars, I would.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels before, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. First off, the beds were unbelievably uncomfortable — none of us got any sleep. My husband, my kids, and I were tossing and turning all night. The next day, my poor kids were so exhausted they ended up sleeping through the entire wedding event downstairs and missed all the fun, thanks to the awful night we had at the “Grand” Sapphire.
But the real nightmare happened the next morning. My husband opened our hotel room door and was met by a completely naked woman who tried to push past him and our children to get into our room. She was fully naked. I tried calling reception from the room phone — it didn’t work. Tried from my mobile — no answer. When my husband went down to reception, they casually said, “Oh, this has happened before.” Absolutely disgusting.
How a hotel allows random naked strangers to wander around and knock on guests’ doors is beyond me. Total lack of security, total lack of professionalism.

Please, don’t waste your money or your peace of mind here. You’d be much better off at a Premier Inn — at least you’ll be able to sleep safely and comfortably.

Avoid at all costs!!

I'm shocked to see such high reviews from others because this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The check-in process took 1 hour because of so many complaints and back-and-forths from other guests. There was only 1 member of staff at the desk, and when I was finally given my room key card, someone else was already in said room getting dressed. This is a massive safety concern.

The bedroom itself is terribly outdated, and quite shocking to say the least. The bins weren't emptied from the previous guests! The only "nice" part of the hotel were the communal areas, it's obvious the entire budget it spent "convincing" people through those areas. Although there were parking spaces, I was not allowed to park as promised because of an award show that fell on the same day. Breakfast was limited and cold. There was also a limited seating area, with no one clearing dirty plates. This hotel also does not have a restaurant or bar. Just an all-round terrible experience.

I had a very disappointing experience

I had a very disappointing experience. The lifts weren’t working, even though I made it clear when booking that I have mobility issues. The receptionist assured me the lifts would be fixed by the next morning, but that turned out to be untrue — he knew he wouldn’t even be on duty then. The staircase was unstable and shook when used, which is unsafe and a serious hazard.

The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, showing no understanding of my situation, and they are not suited for customer service. I have emailed the hotel several times since my stay, but my messages have been ignored.

Overall, this was an awful experience — unsafe, poorly managed, and completely unsuitable for anyone with mobility concerns.

Do not book if you want to eat, drink or sleep

Horrendous experience. Arrived after a long day ready to relax and enjoy a nice meal. Hotel has no restaurant and no bar so we had to brave the rain to find a local restaurant. On our return there were two functions running and deafening music coming up through the floors. Tried to complain but were told 'tough' effectively. Avoid

Update from my previous reviews

Update from my previous reviews
Grand Sapphire called and expected me to accept 50% of the cost of the booking. This was rejected and deemed insulting. After consulting with a Manager, the hotel agreed full refund on the condition that I withdraw and remove my review. For the sake if any other persons suffering what we went through I refused tos do and the hotel stated they would sort out the refund with booking.com I have now received after 2 weeks, an email fro. Booking.com that the hotel would not refund me so I am taking both the hotel and Bookjng .com to Court Absolutely disgraceful way to deal with customers I am not going away which is obviously what these companies hope
Please see review if booking .com too

Hosted an event at the Grand Sapphire…

Hosted an event at the Grand Sapphire recently. Was an incredibly tiresome experience, exacerbated by the quite frankly subpar support and customer service received by team. Was consistently provided conflicting information, elements of my events changed without being informed, and staff members were rude and arrogant. Staff would hold access to various parts of the venue “hostage” despite deposit being paid, and were not forthcoming with information. Event planning was made even more difficult, as it was dictated by staff members, personal schedules. Every attempt to escalate my concerns was met with disdain and lack of accountability, nor was taken seriously. Event management also attempted to change event location on the morning of the event as means of apology, a disorientating change which further reflected their lack of understanding of my needs. Staff were also physically unhelpful, asking insulting questions, and incapable of offering assistance, opting to watch us carry in crate after crate of beverage, instead of offering a trolley. Cold room storage was abhorrent and dirty. Witnessed staff spitting in kitchen.
