Alexis Binder at Great Resumes Fast (GRF) did a great job of developing resume. Much thanks for her organization, ability to write and to showcase key resume items. Through good communication and hard work, she led effective introductory and review meetings and proposed and held schedule milestones delivering the final files on time.

There was some confusion about the number of edits GRF would perform, despite their terms and conditions specifically stating the purchaser would receive two edits after the initial consultation. When I brought the language of their terms to their attention, I was told that what I signed was their general Ts&Cs, and the language I referred to was for a different service. My question, of course was why would you have me sign Ts&Cs that didn't fully apply to the service I purchased? I was told everyone signs the same document, as if this explained away their misrepresentation of the services they would provide. I wouldn't refer them to anyone since this felt like a bait and switch. Ultimately, I had to pay more to have them complete their review of the edits to my resume I shared with them. They would've let me walk away with an incomplete resume, which brings me to my other point. This service is set up such that they provide you with a consultation and then you perform the edits to the resume. I've never experienced this before, and it wasn't established clearly up front—worst experience with a resume writing service EVER.

This is my second time working with Jessica Coppens and the team at Great Resumes Fast — and for good reason. The first resume Jessica crafted helped me achieve one of the most pivotal milestones in my career: stepping into the role of Chief Technology Officer. I had a very disappointing experience with Great Resumes Fast. I hired the company expecting professional support and communication, but what I received fell far short. After the initial engagement, I sent two follow up emails and never received a response. The lack of follow through and accountability was frustrating and unacceptable, especially from a company that claims to specialize in helping people present themselves professionally.

When clients invest in a service like this, they expect a level of care and responsiveness that simply was not there. I would strongly encourage others to look elsewhere for more reliable and client focused resume support.

I would highly recommend Great Resumes Fast. I had an outstanding experience with Jonathan N. who not only reimagined my resume and LinkedIn but gave me some valuable advice and coaching throughout the process on how to promote your brand. He provided some insightful tips on how to redo your LinkedIn and resume for the most impact and viewership. He took my resume down from 3 & 1/2 pages to 2 pages and helped me tell my career story in a way that captures attention immediately and demonstrates business outcomes. The process does not take 3-5 days. It’s been nearly a month and I struggle to receive responses by my resume writer. I follow up every 3 days just to ping a response back that is not satisfactory. When I received my cover letter I asked for a revision that aligns more with my background and have yet to receive another draft. I asked about the use of AI programs because the quality of my resume seemed to have been sent through ChatGPT. I also inquired about having a prepared LinkedIn Profile which I thought I paid for but have yet to have a response. I definitely would not recommend spending $1500 on their services.

To follow up with the company’s invalid response:

Meeting was set on 1/22 with resume writer and the first draft was sent 1/30. I followed up on 1/29 after deadline was missed and then email draft was sent on 1/30. On 2/3 I addressed my concerns around AI and received a response on 2/5 which did not include any screen shots. It was self declared that they ran it through an AI checker. After requesting changes to a cover letter 2/7 and then following back up on 2/12 without a prior response I then received a new cover letter that more reflects my experience.

Great Resumes Fast is by far the best resume company I've had the pleasure of work with. Jonathan took the time to understand my strengths and beliefs. He created an absolute mast class resume and cover letter for me.

I hired Great Resumes Fast to update my resume and LinkedIn profile after starting my first job search in a number of years. I was a little skeptical of how much difference they could make, but I am finding a much higher response rate to applications using their style of resume (compared to what I’d prepared myself). GRF partnered me with an industry-experienced resume writer and the 90 minute consultation where I was asked about my experience and roles proved extremely helpful in drawing out my key skills. The turnaround time from this to the first draft of my resume was excellent - less than four days. My writer was very responsive to edits and adjustments too.

Prior to hiring GRF, I’d tried using one of the online resume writing tools to prepare my own resume. Looking back now, these tools are too restrictive and don’t come with the experience and knowledge that the GRF team can provide. Although not the cheapest service out there, it has absolutely been worth the investment.

I've worked with this company to spruce up my resume as I was beginning my job search and held off for 6 months to give their work a fair shot to speak for itself. In retrospect, while GRF might be helpful in putting your thoughts on paper if you don't have any sort of resume to start with, I would not recommend them for someone who already has a decent starting document to work from. At that point, just finish it yourself or take advantage of the myriad of Ai tools to make it stand out. If you do want to work with GRF, go with the resume revamp and skip the cover letter and LinkedIn add-ons.

I did find the people I worked with to be friendly and helpful as we did the initial consultation, and all the way throughout the process. However, the quality of the work is lacking, especially at the price point. Consistently, the feedback I've received throughout the 6 months from recruiters and hiring managers is that the resume is confusing, over cluttered and difficult to read through, while the cover letter is too generic, relying on cliches rather than clarity. The LinkedIn revamp is also very high-level and does not seem to have much impact. This package was not worth $1,600.
