They opened two accounts for me for…

They opened two accounts for me for some reason. One gets all the credits, the other all the debits. Absolute shambles, currently I am holding on the phone for 23 minutes with no reply yet.
Guys, the last Trustpilot reviews are all terrible, one star but the overall rating remains high. They are obviously exact l what Trustpilot should be warning us to avoid but they are failing

My 72 year old mum has been left with…

My 72 year old mum has been left with Green Network Energy owing her £2,008.94.

After failing to adjust her direct debit payments in 2019, she accrued debt. They then wacked her direct debit payments up and she is now in £2,008.94 CREDIT.

Green Network Energy have now gone into administration and are refusing to refund her because "As you may be aware or have recently heard through the press, Green Network Energy has ceased trading and all our customers' supply has been transferred to EDF as of 31/01/2021.....Even though our customers' supply switched on 01/02/2021, accounts began the transfer process 2 weeks ago. This was due to negotiations between the administrators and EDF, as well as the energy industry. This length of time was out of our control."

"Please also bear in mind that Green Network Energy has around 360,000 customers to transfer, with the aim of transferring up to 10,000 accounts each business day. Each account takes 15 days to transfer, and thus the first accounts transferred will not receive their final bills until the end of this month."

I'm now trying to unravel this for her.

Incompetent

Incompetent. They where not interested in the actual meter readings, just wanted to charge an unjustified amount. They kept closing the file when i raised this inconsistency, then blamed me for moving to a better provider. i hope this drives them to improve and apologise to all their users and refund the unduly taken monies.

Disgraceful company and customer service

Failed to complete direct debit reviews which left our account in debt unknowingly to us.
Customer services very rude and complaints team take forever to return emails and calls. They chase you for info when they need it but if you ask for anything or timelines on when we will get a reply you get nothing!
No wonder they took their complaints option off of their phone line.
Shoddy company, glad we moved away when we did.

This company is worse than incompetent

This company is worse than incompetent. They have put my direct debit up to £249 per month! We live in a one bedroom flat, how on earth can electricity cost that much. They are disgusting and I am reporting them to the ombudsman for bad business practice

Absolutely horrendous company to deal…

Absolutely horrendous company to deal with. Was with them in 2019 and closed my account. Over a year later, they hit me with a £356.10 bill, to which they did not chase, by email, text, phone or letter. After several attempts at setting up a payment plan and direct debit, it eventually went through. However, they only set up one payment instead of 6 monthly. Naturally, this was my fault as I hadn't set the direct debit up properly. Their customer services are unbelievably bad, to the point they argue with the customer in trying to tell their customer they are in the wrong, when in fact it was proven by my bank that GNE were at fault! Absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs, because it most certainly will cost you a year down the line.

Raised temper from Customer service

On one hand I feel sorry for Customer service having to handle calls whilst their company is in admin. On the other hand it doesn't justify his raised anger and cutting the call short with me, whilst I tried to speak calmly about getting a refund today.

Doubled my direct debit

I have been reading everywhere that this company have ceased trading, but not a word from them. Until yesterday when they decided to increase my monthly direct debit from £67 to £132. Almost double! Still no mention of ceased trading and nothing from EDF either. What is going on?

trying to con more money

Green Network ceased trading on 27 January 2021 with more than £200 credit in my account. I sent my final meter readings and calculated how much my final bill should be. There was more than enough credit in my account to cover my final bill and my next payment was not due for another month, so I cancelled my direct debit.
So Green Network decided to increase my standing charge for the period of my final bill even though they had ceased trading and there are adequate funds in my account to cover the correct charges for my final bill.
They want me to reinstate my Direct debit even though I owe them nothing and they have ceased trading.

...and they have wriggled out of their responsibilities....

I switched from Green Network Energy company at end of August 2020, but as I had been with them during the Warm Home Discount qualifying period of July, they were responsible for making the 2020-21 payment.
I wrote to them 15 December to ask where the Warm Home Discount payment was, as all previous energy companies usually credited my account by December.
They responded that the payment would be made by the end of March.
As this was unusual, I wrote back asking why it was so delayed, and perhaps I had an inkling as I included the following -
'Does GNE not understand the reason for this payment and how vital this is to those of us in need?
Or more worrying, is GNE hoping to ‘wriggle out’ of this agreement?'
Their response - 'yes, of course we understand and sorry you feel this way'..............

- does anyone know who will be making the 2020-21 Warm Home Discount payment if you had already switched suppliers, but Green Network Energy were responsible for it?

UPDATE -
I have called the DWP warm home dept. They have said that EDF will be honouring the warm home discount payment.
I contacted EDF. The advisor, although pleasant, does not know the facts. She informed me that the Government pay the warm home discount. This is incorrect. They do not. It is the energy suppliers that pay the discount.
She was uncertain whether EDF would be honouring ALL the 5 July 2020 qualifying customer warm home discount!

Sad and disappointed

WE FEEL VERY, VERY LET DOWN BY GREEN ENERGY. WE HAD ONLY JUST JOPINED THEM AND HAD NO NOTION THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE LEFT HIGH AND DRY LIKE THIS.
Stress and strain we could really do without.
What a shame for all those employees too.

Moving home and staying with Green…

Moving home and staying with Green Energy Network is a poor customer experience. You have to cancel one plan, get charged exit fees (payment taken from you), then start a new plan, then contact them to ask for the exit fees to be credited to your new account. Hardly a smooth process for customer loyalty.

GNE Shock!

I’ve been with GNE for a couple of years and had no problems. App worked well and no billing issues. Surprised to learn they’ve now ceased trading. I thought with a strong established Italian parent company they were a safe bet. always wary of new entrants as it’s not an easy business to break into.

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking. No pun intended. Days after signing up to Green Network Energy, I receive an email advising they are no longer trading, and EDF have been given their customers by Ofsted. This was not my choice, so I am less than impressed. If they were in trouble they should not have continued to 'recruit' customers.
Not a good way to conduct a business by any means.

I'm not surprised this company has gone…

I'm not surprised this company has gone bust! Shockingly bad for the 12 months we had to stay with them. I honestly didn't get a correct Electric bill even though I regularly gave Meter readings. There was just one excuse after another! 38 Years I have read a Gas and Electric Meter and dealt with companies with little trouble. This lot were a shambles from top to bottom.

When were GNE going to inform me that…

When were GNE going to inform me that they had ceased trading? Purely by accident I came across an article that informed me today. Online app never worked and email communication was nil positives were a very cheap tariff.

Awful company

Awful company. Completed my switch on 19.12.2020 and it was the worst thing i ever did. problems from the very beginning trying to charge me £40 immediately for a supply they had not yet taken over. Robbing chancers and i’m glad the company has now ceased trading. Horrible for the staff but unfortunately this is the BEST result for their customers.
