Unhelpful Morrisons

At Christmas I bought my grandson an Odeon gift voucher for £20, which he has just told me was out of date. I understand that these vouchers are supposed to be valid for 2 years. Upon checking the voucher myself online it said it couldn’t be validated. When I went to my local store to complain I was referred to Black Hawk who are apparently the gift card issuer. I have contacted both Odeon and Black Hawk yet received no reply. Although I don’t have the giftcard receipt, I do have evidence of the transaction within my online banking. Surely someone is responsible for refunding me and as the money was paid to Morrisons in the first instance why not them? I feel that they have not been helpful at all.

Appalling treatment of staff

Absolutely disgusting what you have done to your manager who gave you many years service. You don't support your staff and don't deserve customers. You may as well put an advert out saying shop lifters welcome

Morrisons replies.

Morrisons replies.

I see that all those three letter replies that despicable Morrisons posted yesterday about the posts highlighting the customers concerns about the sacking of the manager have all disappeared.

Update 24//04/2026

I hope Sean Egan was a member of a shopworkers union or is seeking legal advice so he can then sue the backside off Morrisons.

Update 25/04/2026

A GoFundMe campaign titled "Sean Egan vs Morrisons," launched by the Aldridge Community to support the former store manager, has raised over £16,000 (with earlier reports citing over £12,000 and an initial £3,000 milestone). The funds are intended to help Sean Egan cover living costs and legal expenses as he prepares to take his dismissal to an employment tribunal.

ABYSMAL NON SERVICE!

ABYSMAL NON SERVICE!
As a new customer. I wasn't aware till now (HOURS AFTER DELIVERY) that if one starts a list BEFORE booking a slot that all those Items wouldn't be listed for delivery!!!
I had an emergency with my little dog and had to rush him to hospital (opposite the ELDENE - SWINDON) Veterinary hospital...Eastcott Vets
My delivery slot I paid for was between 3 and 4pm. I knew I was not going to make it back home miles Way by then, so i called and spoke eith MALAYSIA and asked for help
She told me that she would defer the delivery between 6pm and 9pm. I still in the hospital when the delivery driver called me to say he was outside my house with my large order! I told him to please come later to give me time to get home. He said he couldn't and that he would leave the numerous bags outside my door. So Malaysia DIDNT follow through with the agreement....and as a result some things were squashed and biscuits ended up in crumbs...plus the strawberries.
I was so stressed out with the worry of my little dog I only just realised my order of 25 packets of SUGAR FREE SWEETS are missing. So another conversation with customer care...not very helpful. Only resulted in upsetting me more
Its a shambolic way to treat customers Morrissons!!! NEVER AGAIN. Pathetic!

Morrisons don't sell morals. They don't know what they are.

After listening to the appalling sacking of Sean Egan, a long serving member of Morrisons staff, I felt compelled to write this review. Morrisons should be thoroughly ashamed sacking this man who was protecting their store, their staff and himself from a violent career criminal. How would the CEO of Morrisons have felt had he been spat at and assaulted? How would he have reacted? That criminal, by spitting in Sean Egan's face, could have transmitted a serious life threatening disease. If I were Sean Egan I wouldn't think twice about resuming my empolyment with Morrisons, a Company who has shown no compassion or gratitude to a loyal and trusted employee. What Morrisons forget is Sean Egan was also protecting Morrisons 'profits'. It appears to me that Morrisons have no morals.

Morrisons Misusing Deliveroo’s System to Push Through Unwanted Orders

I placed an order for Morrisons through Deliveroo and clearly selected the option that if one specific item wasn’t available, the entire order should be cancelled. This was a simple, direct instruction. Morrisons ignored it completely and delivered the order anyway.

The receipt showed no substitutions, yet they substituted the exact item I had said should trigger a full cancellation. To make matters worse, the items they sent were cheaper, lower‑quality versions of what I ordered — things I would never choose or eat. Even if substitutions were acceptable (they weren’t), the price difference should have been refunded. It wasn’t.

They also delivered another substituted item without even marking it as a substitution. I only realised because it wasn’t what I ordered. This is careless, misleading, and completely unacceptable.

When I raised the issue with Deliveroo customer service (who the order was placed through), the experience was dreadful. They didn’t acknowledge the problem, didn’t take responsibility, and acted as though ignoring delivery instructions was normal. These instructions come from their own system, yet Morrisons still failed to follow them.

The order was just over £20, and Deliveroo offered me a £6 credit — completely pointless, because after this experience I won’t be ordering through them again. I asked for a full refund and for the order to be collected, which is the only reasonable outcome given Morrisons failed to follow the instructions. That request was ignored.

My complaint was then passed to Deliveroo’s Global Escalations Team, who were just as useless. They offered an £8 credit — and to be clear, this was not £8 on top of the £6. It was simply an instead of. They ignored everything I said and still didn’t provide any explanation for why Morrisons delivered an order that should have been cancelled. I asked repeatedly and got no answers at all.

To make matters worse, the option to leave feedback on the order within the Deliveroo platform was removed. There is no way to rate the delivery or submit a negative review. The option simply isn’t there. It feels like they hide or disable the review feature when they know the feedback will be negative. That alone says everything.

I am entitled to a full refund because:

• Morrisons ignored the explicit instruction to cancel the order if an item wasn’t available
• They substituted the item I said should not be substituted
• They delivered cheaper alternatives without refunding the difference
• They delivered unmarked substitutions
• Deliveroo customer service ignored everything I said
• The Deliveroo Global Escalations Team ignored everything I said
• Neither team provided any explanation despite being asked repeatedly
• They refused to collect the order
• They removed the ability to leave feedback on the order

The whole experience has been careless, dismissive, and completely unacceptable.

Hi Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your experience. I apologise that your clear instruction to cancel the order if a specific item was unavailable was not followed, and that substitutions were made without proper notification or price adjustment. It is also disappointing to hear that your concerns were not adequately addressed when you contacted Deliveroo customer service and their escalations team. Your feedback has been noted in our system so that the Internal team at Morrisons and Deliveroo will be aware of it. We take these matters seriously and will use your comments to help improve both our order fulfilment processes and the way customer concerns are handled. We hope to serve you better in the future. - Awn

Not happy with the way they treat their staff at Aldridge, that poor man who gave you 29 years of his life was dismissed when this could easily have been a warning .

Can't give the place a minus....I am…

Can't give the place a minus....I am referring to the stewartfield store...it has been going downhill for sometime now, think its the management who never seem to listen to the customers. Continual rising costs across the entire store. Out of date products litter the shelves. When you bring it to the attention of the management they just smile and say thanks for that. The only decent thing in the shop is the pharmacy. Pleasant staff and always attentive.
Now onto a major gripe....the abundance of businesses purporting to be charities at the front door. Nearly every day these beggars who get paid for getting your money out of your pocket stand in your way and BLOCK the exit. It has been reported to the staff many a time who do nothing about it.
A charity is where everybody concerned gives their time and effort free of charge.
They DO NOT GET PAID. that becomes a business. As a result of this I will no longer be shopping in a morrisons store.
As A finishing rant, the store this morning was half empty....go along to sainsbury or lidl and they are very busy.

Poor quality fruit and veg, Morecard voucher invalid for no reason

Really angry. Tried to report poor quality fruit and veg (apples, pears, red onions and salad tomatoes) using an online enquiry form and got nowhere. Emailed their customer services and it bounced back undeliverable. They don't have a complaints email. They don't have a general complaint form. I'm not doing 4 separate forms for 4 items when it flashes up that I must put in the barcode, batch number etc. I threw the bags away because at the time I didn't intend to complain but it happens 3 weeks in a row so I changed my mind. I tried to submit it all on the Morecard enquiry form, with the proviso that they may need to forward part of the complaint on to another department because I was also effectively robbed of 6000 worth of Morecard points when the till refused the voucher even though I met all the conditions. The online form asked for my Morecard number which apparently is not valid, even though I used it last Saturday. I don't have my old card anymore and asked for a new one - when I logged into Morrisons online and went to the Morecard part it showed the same card number that I already typed in, which is not working and therefore I cannot submit that form either. I then tried phoning them. Press 1 for this, press 2 for that. There is no general complaint or customer services. I would have had to go to Morecard and explain it all to them. Not going there anymore. Throw your Morecard away!
Note: Immediately after this review went live I received a request from Morrisons for more information. This was for my contact details so they could look into it further. I gave them my mobile number and email address as soon as they asked. I have heard nothing since then, that was 5 days ago.
