Buyer was great...quick responses...clear communication. I give my experience on Hairsellon a 3.5 out of 5 because: One buyer made an offer then backed out (after I told others I'd accepted an offer).... See more

Great site to work with
I looked for I website where I can sell my hair and found this one. It is easy to use and it provides a lot of functionality.
Support is really fast and helps with any question. I asked for info about buyers and got it. I also asked for relisting my ad and they did it very fast.
Good experience by following guidelines
This is our third time selling through hairsellon.com. We had much quicker results this time with a sale within 24 hours of posting. Less spam inquiries this time too. Buyer was easy to work with through email and gave us his suggestions on mailing internationally and preferences for packaging the hair (multiple rubber bands down the ponytail and in a ziplock bag).
I sold my hair for the price I asked…
I sold my hair for the price I asked within 2 days. As with any new listing, I received a lot of interest in the first days following posting my ad. My buyer was the first inquiry, and they stuck with me to the end while I fielded other possible buyers. Very professional and easy to work with. This is a reflection of the entire hairsellon.com site. There may be some insincere buyers out there. But new sellers should read all the instructions and advice available on the site. It was spot on, removed any anxiety I had in determining bonafide offers, and helped to make this a very pleasant experience. My own advice: do not be afraid to negotiate! I appreciated this platform to sell my hair.
Don't waste your time or money!
There are very few legitimate buyers on this site. It seems to be nothing but low ballers (Tom), time wasters (longhair-buyer) and fetishists (the rest). Find another way of selling your hair because this site is not worth the money or effort unless your hair is of a rare quality or colour (possibly).
Hairsellon things to know, from a buyer:
First, people should know that this website is legit, and it does have real buyers, but it really does not work the best, and there are other free alternatives like ebay that work better IMO.
understand that Hairsellon is not really a go-to source for any considerable number of wig or extension makers. Most of the people buying from websites like hairsellon have no other way to buy hair and need it for a project or personal reasons.
There are also a large number of buyers on here that are sexually attracted to human hair, particularly hair from women, these buyers are usually not scammers, but they do buy for sexual reasons.
The next biggest thing I can think of, Your hair does not lose value from cutting it. the website tells you not to cut before you're paid to prevent scammers. cutting doesn't lower the value, it just helps prevent sellers remorse from scams.
The value can be lowered however, if you don't take before and after photos / and a possibly a video of the cutting. these are things that some buyers need and they will not buy without them. they're not required, but can get you more money.
Final thing, this website costs money. there are a lot of other alternatives that don't cost money and have just as many buyers willing to pay the exact same prices.
Ebay is definitely the most straightforward and what I recommend. just make sure you use the right keywords like "human hair" and "ponytail" etc so the right people find it. there's also buyandsellhair, and onlinehairaffair. no reason to pay the $15 listing fee when those options have more buyers, are free, and just work better.

Too little traffic to justify expense
While each person’s experience may be different depending on what they are offering and how it is presented, my experience as a seller on HairSellOn was very poor and a waste of money and effort. Over a period of three months I had 755 views and only one inquiry (I suspect most of the views were other people thinking of selling or just curious). During that time, I dropped my price to what the ad and shipping would cost without making a profit and it still didn’t sell. My advice is don’t waste your time or money placing an ad on this website as there isn’t enough traffic to justify the effort. Other than that, the website was functional.
great experience
I had a great experience! My buyer had specific concerns, which were followed to a t. They were very nice and paid right away. Thank you for helping us find each other!
Just use eBay
I would save yourself some trouble and just use eBay.
lord I paid $20 for a “lifetime” ad listing, and it still expired after 3 months.
I actually did get some legitimate buyers but not a whole lot. many did not respond to me.
The ad listing expired and after I had already cut my hair I didn’t know what to do with it. I listed it on eBay as an auction titled it brown human hair ponytail haircut and after 1 week I sold for $220.
if my hair was longer I could’ve got more but for I’m not upset with what I got.
The website “hairsellon” is not the best but it works I suppose..
Worth pursuing, despite anxieties
I warn and apologize in advance: this experience and review had so many emotions! I'm writing true to the experience- details, feelings, opinions and all.
I had a good experience. I started out feeling resolved but anxious about selling. I'd never used PayPal before or sold my hair ever. I read the ample advice and followed it. PayPal was easy. (My transaction cost me nothing- via bank account in 1-3 days.) My hairsellon ad was $20. I had two offers within two weeks and in under a month agreed to a price and length. My ambition was I'd make my hair part of the ethical hair trade in the US, and I got my wish. (Seen Good Hair on Netflix?)
It's off my head (sigh of relief!), I made a bit of cash (above estimate from calculator), and my offers were polite and courteous- Including the guy with the fetish. I appreciate his candor. My buyer didn't pressure me, which helped when those remorseful feelings made me need a moment to say goodbye. (Cue sentimental montage)
I appreciate that hairsellon screens buyers and offers everyone safety advice. I want others like me to know they can do this process with confidence. Just follow the advice and need the warnings! It's all there pre-purchase. Most people I talk to don't know selling hair is an option or they don't know there's a legitimate, safe way... That's where this site shines.
My criticism- website needs a lot of improvement, particularly mobile (android) site. Finding seller resources was hard- after contacting administrator for help, I had to switch to desktop mode to find any sold ads. It made it hard to analyze how many if any ads were resulting in a sale, and what the market looked like lately.
I'd like to be able to see if a buyer is 'vetted' or proven true. Realizing there are so many scammers made me sad, but hearing it first FROM hairsellon gave me confidence and hope. Site needs improvement. Would appreciate more seller info... but of course a faker's gonna fake so maybe confidence should be earned via PayPal. I wasn't able to find and review my buyer via android version of the site. Maybe I'll have luck with the desktop? But I wasn't able to see the reviews anyway so I don't know how that could help much.
Perhaps hairsellon could do like so many dating sites and have a communication solely through their page. I'd be glad not to use my personal email address in order to reply to a request, especially one I'm going to decline. So yes, the site has room to improve, but customer service was prompt and responsive to me. So don't be dissuaded if you have good hair and want to sell it. I don't know any better resource for this process, and the alternative is... Hair in trash? No way!!!
All in all, I had a good experience despite my angst! Someone warned me about the remorseful feelings right after selling (before cutting!)... And I'll warn others too. Expect that and ride it out. If you didn't want to cut your hair you probably wouldn't have placed an ad, right? Right now my pixie cut is just okay, but what's great is not having my long hair pulled by my children and hairbrush and requiring an hour of care every day, between brushing and styling and braiding and rebraiding... This is what women's liberation feels like. :-) I'm happy with my choice because I encountered grief before I cut... Spent a last honeymoon week with the mane and remembered why I was so anxious to get it off again. ("I'm gonna cut it off or pull it out", I believe, were my words.) I'm happier than I expected because I had low expectations.
Sellers, consider selling 18+" if possible so wig/extension makers can use your hair. (Per articles around web on topic.) Possibilities are very limited with less, and Asia is full of smooth, long hair to sell. Keep it local folks, yay USA. End rant. Good luck!
“Vida Mesa-Lee” tried to scam me last…
“Vida Mesa-Lee” tried to scam me last year but I didn’t let him. NEVER buy anything for an account that hasn’t paid you yet.
Everything is clear and easy!
Great selling experience!
Great selling experience! Contact was quick and easy. Sold to ZeroHair, a local buyer in my region. We were able to easily negotiate on hair length and price, meet in-person for him to cut my hair (23 inches!), and exchange payment over PayPal all very quickly! Amazing buyer who even added on extra cash to pay the salon fee to clean up my hair after the cut! 100% recommend, 10/10 would sell to him again!
Just to b on safe side
Hi...
I was going to sell my hair in this website but I have not done it yet since I had to pay ad listing fee 20$.
I really m in short of money. I fear that my money may be wasted, even my family tells me that it might b a scam
I was wondering why u guys don't just deduct the amount of d listing fee while we are doing transactions or u can set it so that in the middle of transaction we cannot get money transferred to our account without deducting specified money .
Not sure where these positive reviews come from.
Not sure where these reviews come from.
I had many issues over years with this company.
They lie over and over and over about everything.
Your account won't work and so you do another payment and then you get charged twice and can prove it and they say that you haven't. This happened twice to me over the years and both times they did everything to deny having charged me twice. Yet it's on my and their statement....They also never use to have a cancel subscription button and lied and would send fake links saying that your computer browser was the issue...No....They would send links proven to be fake and never had a cancel subscription button. You had to order your bank to stop paying them.

Easy
: I was a little skeptical but I was able to sell my hair for the price generated by the hair calculator! Everything was easy. Just pay attention to the info provided about scammers.
Great place to sell and buy hair
I was able to find a seller and we made a negotiation. I then mailed it to him. I haven’t had any problems
Don't waste your money!
I spent $20 to purchase an ad listing and after several months have only been contacted by perverts and scammers. Seriously, don't waste your money or time with this website. I also had my photos stolen by a scammer on here. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Positive experience, very recommended
I’ve got a really good experience. I listed my offer and got immediate reaction of several buyers. We agreed with one of them and the deal was easy and fast. Thank you hairsellon com for making serious sellers and buyers meet.
Site shady/full scammers pervs
Hello, as you will see on countless reviews there is a serial scammer and lots of pervs on this site. It is not worth wading through. We got scammed by a Vida Mesa-Lee, (formerly Jim Jones) as it fits that scammer MO entirely. He uses previous women's videos to convince later ones (myself/as I'm sure he will use my video to try and scam others) to do the same obviously the website has done/will likely do nothing about this user. The only other contacts we got where from pervs looking for more photos in special positions.

Don’t sell anywhere else
This is the second time that I have sold my hair on this website! It is so simple and easy and the transactions went smoothly. So long as you follow the recommendations by the website there is less chance to get scammed. The people I sold to were absolutely fabulous buyers and genuine.
