All I would say about Hanson's is that they don't reply to emails I have sent them and my experience of dealing with them over the last seven months has been most unsatisfactory.

The past few weeks I have been completing a work placement with Notty Hornblower Valuer of Costume and Textiles at Hansons Auctioneers at the Etwall Head Office. I have had a lovely experience working with the team who were all friendly and supportive during my placement journey. I have learnt a great deal and was encouraged from the outset to get involved, which has shaped me as a professional. I am currently a Fashion Design student attending the University of Derby, I intend to go into print design due to my passion for painting.  Being exposed to the textile goods at Hansons has inspired me creatively and gave me insight into historical knowledge that I can continue to incorporate into my designs. I have had so much support from Hansons staff and enjoyed assisting valuation sessions which gave me an insight into the world of antiques which I found very interesting. It was great to observe the journey from initial valuation to final lotting up for auction.

The fact all i had to do was get my iterms to hansons.and you did the rest thank you very much ron hurst.

unrealistic valuations, items taken well boxed, didnt sell only due to my reserves, commission plus vat, not worth selling, collection, items unboxed , demands for payment to list , not worth the hasstle. Would only use if you want to clear your clutter but dont expect a payment unless its gold which you can sell for a lot more at a gold buying store

Thought there was a lack of contact re the Auction . I wasn’t informed that some of the Items and which items were to be auctioned the month after . Still not given a date for them as yet, luckily i made a list of all the auction items so know what is still to go to Auction. Thank you for the updates re selling prices . Regards Lois Jenkinson

From taking my jewellery for valuation, then deciding to sell , I was well supported by all staff I came into contact with.
My estimates reached there value or more so I was extremely happy.

Good service

This is my first experience of using Hansons and I am very impressed. The staff are very approachable and I have been kept informed throughout the whole process. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a valuer come to our house and she was lovely. Just like a friend. Nothing was too much trouble. We decided to go to the auction the at time we had been to one. Really enjoyed it. It was good to see people from here and abroad buying our stuff. The auctioneer was brilliant. We were kept informed from start to finish. Thank you Hanson's for all your help. At Derbyshire
