We completed Happy Hears First Aid course a month before our baby was due. I have previously left a review of how wonderful and helpful it was, but wanted to return as I recently had to use the skills I had learnt whilst out for coffee with my daughter.

My daughter was on my lap when the server placed a hot latte down directly in front of her. Before I could react, she immediately tipped it over both of us. Whilst the server did very little to help, my friends and I (having all completed Sammy’s course) sprung into action, remembering our first aid and quickly removing her wet nappy and clothes and taking her to the toilets to run her under cool water.

Sammy’s course gave me the confidence to keep calm and do what was needed to stop the situation getting any worse. Thankfully my daughter was absolutely fine, just a little cold and upset!

Sammy’s course has also given me and my husband the confidence to embrace weaning full swing, understanding that she has the skills to eat/gag/cough etc., but also that we have the skills and know the signs, if anything did go wrong.

I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who is pregnant or has a new baby or small children. Thank you Sammy!

Very informative and done in a relaxed way.

We booked a private baby and child first aid class ahead of our first baby coming so that other family members could also join. Communication with Sammy was great in advance of the session and booking was simple.

Sammy turned up with plenty of time to set up ahead of the session and interacted with all the participants. The 2 hour session was very informative and whilst it covered a lot of topics (CPR, choking, burns, etc.), Sammy was very clear with instructions so it didn't feel like it was too much, too quickly. We particularly enjoyed the active participation elements of the session and felt that helped with knowledge retention. We now feel much better prepared and even those with children learnt a number of things (and as such, we'd be more comfortable with them looking after our child).

We'd really recommend the course and also felt the price for a private session was very reasonable

A hugely informative and helpful course. We had both done non specific First Aid training before and still found this really useful.

Concise but still full of up to date knowledge. She was fast paced but thorough and friendly to boot. We appreciated the booklet and bought one of her beautifully organised first aid kits. Having previously been certified in other first aid and life guarding courses, I can vouch that Sammy was able to convey the broad picture as well as important intricacies on a range of key topics and subjects. She also addressed questions on the spot proving her breadth of knowledge and experience.

This was a very informative class for us. A few aspects that make this class awesome!
1) Sammy’s teaching method is very engaging and keeps you in it for the entire duration
2) The content is extremely relevant to parents
3) It is organised in byte sized chunks
4) The information booklet follows the course closely. The info is very succinct in the booklet meaning you don’t need to keep taking notes.
5) Lots of practical learning using the practice dummies

Sammy ran a private session for a small group of Year 6 boys including my own. She was just excellent. Super and helpful and communicative when booking, with a wonderfully kind and ‘can do’ attitude. Once with the boys she held their attention, knew how to relate to them and make the session fun and interesting for them as well as informative. The session ran for an hour and in that time Sammy taught the boys CPR on adults and babies / children and showed them how to use a defibrillator. She brought mannequins for them to practice on and worksheets for them to complete, making sure she taught them vital theory on the topics of CPR and life saving techniques like mouth to mouth resuscitation. I would highly recommend Sammy to anyone. I know she teaches adults on a regular basis but I would not hesitate to recommend her for children’s sessions, teaching them these vital and valuable life skills. Thank you, Sammy!

My husband and I recently attended Sammy’s baby and child first aid class, and we would highly recommend it. We are first time parents and due to start weaning very soon, therefore wanted to learn each element of first aid in the event of something happening. Sammy covered everything from CPR to burns to choking, demonstrated and got us to put what we had learned into practice. Sammy is very friendly, has great knowledge and answered any of our questions.

The recent baby and child first aid course I attended with Sammy was excellent. She is so friendly and knowledgeable, all the things she covered in the course were really memorable and I left feeling so much more prepared if there was an emergency. A truly invaluable course delivered expertly.

We had Sammy in to do a series of first aid courses, these were aimed at parents for our school. She was just brilliant at the morning and evening sessions, adapting perfecting to the different audiences. Sammy manages to find the perfect balance between fun and informative whilst making things very practical and hands on. We’ve had wonderful feedback from parents who really enjoyed the sessions, learning key life saving skills and gaining the confidence to use them. We can’t recommend her enough, also her Ouch Pouches were a big hit too.

Fantastic first aid session with Sammy today! The face to face session covered key topics in a way that was easy to understand and remember. Sammy is very personable, knowledgeable and knows how to make an Aussie joke or two to keep the sessions serious but entertaining. Even our little one enjoyed being a part of it.

Sammy was fantastic! She made a very serious topic enjoyable and lighthearted. She also made it very easy to understand and digest, so my parents understood everything even though they have never done any first aid training before. The fact that she was able to be come to our house and on the weekend made it even easier. I really recommend her!

Fantastic session. Feel much more confident dealing with medical emergencies and accidents that my little one could experience. Sammy was so welcoming and made me feel so at ease. Lots of time for questions and practicing some techniques we learnt on dummies.

I highly recommend this training for any new or soon-to-be parent. It was structured and delivered fabulously by Sammy, who relayed her experience and knowledge during the session. I left feeling comfortable knowing what to do in an emergency, along with a mini guide and a book! Thank you

The season with Sammy was very informative. It was interactive and I learnt a lot. Would highly recommend for all parents as I wouldn’t have known what to do in an emergency before this course!

Sammy delivered excellent training which was easily accessible and memorable. We enjoyed the course very much.

Sammy was fantastic, she instantly set a safe and relaxing space. She explained first aid (which can be a very scary subject) in a grounded and digestible way. This such important information we should all know and couldn’t think of anyone better to teach it than Sammy. Can’t rate highly enough!!
