Pushed into expensive phone line

I have just had to place an order using the expensive premium rate phone line because the email was impossible to use. It was totally unclear, even placing the order was a task because I knew what I wanted and didn't want to look through their book again so had to put each item in the box!!!! Only good part was, the phone was answered fairly quickly by a charming young man who explained why I hadn't been able to use the email ordering service - now!!!

One wheeled shopping trolley

As part of the order, I received my free, as promised shopping trolley; its one single wheel will make it a bit of a challenge whilst I ‘drag’ it around my local shops.
Two wheels would have been really useful but after reading customer reviews, perhaps I’m lucky to have received just the one..... what Quality Control?

Premium phone line

I recently placed an order with this company. I was told they were out of stock but I would get the item when the stock was back in. They took the payment. I await delivery. BUT on checking my phone bill I find that this is a premium number and I was charged almost £3 for a 5 minute call placing the order. Please check this before you ring them. After reading other reviews I'm sceptical as to whether I will get the item. I'll give them 4 weeks and then follow up. Beware of the premium cost of phoning them.

CUSTOMER ALERT! CUSTOMER ALERT! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I hope all potential customers read the reviews on this company before purchasing goods. My story.............
My stepfather ordered a garden weeder back in May 2020. Cheque was cashed but he didn't receive the item. He like many others called the company on the expensive phone line and after waiting for a long time he was told, "no such order existed and we have no records" My step father is 84.
I then took over. i didn't phone ( You rarely get any joy on the phone). Always use e mail. They cant ignore this and it costs nothing. Anyway, after a few e mails they told me the order had been delivered and signed for ( It never arrived). Now im thinking they are telling fibs or we have a dodgy delivery guy who has a collection of garden weeders. I demanded a tracking code which they sent but no details of delivery company. After another email they sent me the delivery company but informed me they did not use them anymore. I tracked the parcel and guess what..... NO RECORDS. I was then offered a refund or to re order. I asked to re order. They then informed me item was discontinued. So i then requested a refund. This was sent be cheque following a few more e mails from myself. (They are very very very poor communicators) Always seem to leave you hanging/ waiting for a reply that never comes. I told my stepfather to get the cheque into his account asap. Which he did. And all this for just over £12. An order placed from a little catalogue that falls from the newspaper. Sent by post using a cheque by my 84 year old stepfather who didn't receive his item. And then had to endure a costly time consuming process to get some closure from a company which seems to have an absolute horrific customer service. Wow! its bad! Some may say this is a lot of hassle for £12, but i was so shocked by the atrocious service this company was offering , i had to act. How many elderly people have been affected? Personally i wouldn't touch them, not even with a 3 foot hand held garden weeder. SHAME ON YOU HEALTHY LIVING DIRECT. (ps. i had to give 1 star as the review would not post if no stars selected)

Not ordered but recieved low value goods

My 92 year old Nan has recieved a small value goods which she has not ordered. It has her details though.

I have tried calling on the premium rate number and not got through and sent various emails etc.

She is panicking that someone is using her details and a lady of this age does not need this hassle or stress.

Unsure what to do now.

Do Not give this company your order

I ordered a pair of Comfort stretch shoes from this company who were advertising Buy One Get One Free in their catalogue, After a couple of weeks one pair of the shoes were delivered with a watch which I didn’t order or want, I did want the second pair of shoes though.
After a phone call which I gave up on and two emails which were not acknowledged or answered I am still waiting for my second pair of shoes.
As I am elderly and virtually housebound I have come to rely on catalogue and on-line shopping.
This company are still managing to send out their brochure to me even though I have requested they take me off their mailing list.
I would urge others thinking of buying from this company to be aware of the very poor service they give and disregard for customers.

Premium rate number. AVOID!!!!

Their contact number is 08714724250 which is a premium rate number. Father in law just been charged £3.79 for a 6 minute call as its classed as on outside call allowance number on his mobile. Avoid. Rip off merchants. Despicable as many of these type of catalogues are aimed at the elderly.

Never again

I have used this company regularly over the years but never again. I ordered four items of clothing for my mother in laws christmas. Two items never arrived. One item was the wrong colour and size. Contacts with customer services are just ignored. My account appears to have been deleted or suspended as I can no longer log in.One advantage of this is that the constant flow of junk mail from Driffield companies appears to have stopped.

avoid!
we havent ordered anything from them, but unfortunately someone else's order has been wrongly sent to our address. (as well as an ongoing stream of junk mail). We have emailed the company so that the goods can be returned and delivered to the right customer (who presumably has paid and would like their purchase). But no response and impossible to phone without incurring high charges. Despite returning the junk with message "not known here" it still comes...... total shambles. if we dont get a reply from them soon the goods are going to the charity shop

Not great

I have ordered from this firm before and it's been ok. Last order was very late but after contacting cs the goods arrived. The last order arrived in good time but incorrect and trying to contact them now seems impossible. Quality of goods ok but over priced. No free returns. Thanks to trust pilot I won't be using this company again. I guess I was one of the lucky ones to get my order and completely agree about the amount of junk mail I get each time post arrives. I also received mail from other companies and looking at the catalogue it seems they are all one and the same. Will avoid in future.

cant give no stars

cant give no stars, what a load of tat they are selling, they took money as soon as i ordered, goods arrived late, customer services are a joke, they are very rude, they lie and are not helpful. this gets you stressed up ,not good if you are elderly and invalided. to return this tat would cost more to send back,so cant be bothered. customer services need to learn some manners. AVOID this company.
